I bought 2 Droid x phones recently, one for me and one for my boss. Both are activated on Page Plus service. I rooted mine and his is unrooted. Mine was rooted using zergrushv4 method since both phones came with .621 on them. His preferred method of communication since we are both on the road a lot is sending voice recording through text message. I can receive his messages but I can not send them on mine. I am wondering if this is due to the phone now reporting it is a milestone x. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this short of returning to stock and sacrificing root access? Thanks.
Did you SBF to .604 using RSD Lite?
If so, it caused your issue.
To fix it, SBF to .621 using RSD Lite, then follow this guide:

I have a droid x I want to root ( never rooted before), unfortunately I have updated ota .596 and gb 2.3.3. From what I have found I need to sbf back to .340, but all the guides I have found require you to use an app requiring a rooted device.... what can I do to sbf and/or root my phone, or am I stuck waiting till a direct root for 596 comes out.?
Look in the stickies in this forum. There are a couple guides on how to sbf. Even video tutorials.

thanks I actually ended up using this last night SHADO_X6_2.3.34_SYSTEM-ONLY.sbf. which stuck my phone at the red m screen. Near panic attack I managed to get it back working with VRZ_MB810_4.5.596_1FF_01.sbf. Im checking out ur link now owen thanks
I just rooted my DX and cant send MMS messages, all texts and data work fine.
I used the Linux method with Zergrush.
Any ideas?

Did you ever find a solution? I have the same problem. I think it is due to the root method making the phone a Milestone X euro version of the X. Can't find a solution though.

Did you SBF to .604 via RSD Lite?

So I bought a droid x from craigslist in perfect condition. Anyway,
its running 4.5.605. I was able to root the phone but unable to update SuperUser.
I tried the update fix and busybox fix. Nothing changed.
I also cant update the phone to the new .621.
Im a droid razr maxx owner and have done some rsd lite, fastbooting stuff already.
I would like to know the line up of software/firmware updates for the droid x so im not so lost when reading. I also need someone to point me towards the fastboot files for .605 so I can get the phone clean before I mess with it. I want to try cyanomod.

Hi I'm new to the Droid X community, and I saw somewhere that .621 was not rootable but then I saw somewhere else someone found a loophole?
I don't know how updated/accurate those statements are, therefore I am asking a question to you guys.
How do I root this phone? Is there the Superoneclick? Or is there a long root process or what?
I have a droid x 4.5.621.MB810.Verizon.en.US.

i used this root method today as a last resort (i dont like using methods that take different software to work) and i lost my 3g. im fairly seasoned at root but this is the first time ive come across this problem. im on baseband BP_C_01.09.15P and ive reset my phone, called the *228 and battery pulled a few times and still no results. can anyone help?
well don't remember anyone losing 3g before, and no reason magic md5 root would cause

not sure which root methods, you would have used that, doesn't use software
if you don't like it, flash milestone 604 with sbf_flash, and root with zergrush
just don't flash 604 with rsd lite, it will change the radio
Is there video on how to do this method, I have a Droid x and i want it rooted, but Im no good on written instructions, I do better with video.

I have the same exact version u have and I got my phone flashed to cricket. I would like to flash the rom and customize my phone. Please direct me in the right place. Thanks.
I'm just a noob beginner but alot of the guys i work with love looking at the latest features of the roms i keep switching up on my nexus. One of them brought me a Droid X he wants to use for streaming music in his home network but the phone has "unheard messages" on his voicemail that keep interrupting the stream. I have found no way to clear this interruption. This X has the .621 update so it seams from my reading there is no sure way to root and flash a new rom. If I try a factory reset will it be forever stuck in the unusable mode of waiting for activation?
BTW...I'm really enjoying running MUzzys on my GNEX!
