My dad has the HTC EVO 4G LTE, and I obviously have the Nexus 7. Both with Google Wallet. I was just wondering if, I could share money with his account and vise-versa. For example, if I wanted to lend my dad $15, could I just tap the two devices together and he receives my $15?

So i fell in love with the galaxy note, and right now I'm on verizon.
What i was wondering is if i could trade plans and phones with someone, so someone has a galaxy note on at&t, and i have a galaxy nexus on vzw.
would it be possible to transfer accounts to each others names along with phones so that I would be on at&t and they would be on verizon?
You would have to do an AOL (assumption of liability) for both accounts in each other name. Both carriers would run a credit check on the person assuming, the responsibility of the account. If the credit check goes through on both sides, then yes (assuming you've already found someone willing to switch)

Already done!
Verizon is the reason Google chose to make the Nexus 4 a GSM exclusive. After Verizon totally ruined the launch of the Galaxy Nexus last year with endless delays plus their npn-existant advertising, Google correctly raised their middle finger to Big Red this time around. Paybacks, it seems, really is a bi---.

And as a result, they will lose a few customers like myself. So long, Verizon!
Just wanted to ask cause I am gonna get the tablet in a few days.

Interesting part is, I bought my nexus 7 32gb in Japan.
During the setup process it asked me to enter my data for Google Wallet.
Message was: my credit card doesn't qualify for the 2000 Yen credit, but basically it seems in some regions there is still promotion

As others have said, it's expired. Here's the relevant page, courtesy of a "$25 google play credit expire" Google search: http://support.google.com/googleplay/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2670129
Hello XDA !
I am happy to have registered on this website. Lot's of nice things about Android and all other OS's.
So I have a Samsung Star and have never had a Android phone. Only time I used it was when I should try out a phone of a friend of mine.
So I have a little thing lately. I am working really hard to get the money for my car license. I am 18 and my priority is to get the money to start with my license.
But I have been talking for some time already about a new phone. So what me parents would be happy with is if I took a Nexus 7 which is around €244 here in the Netherlands. When I asked about if It should also be a phone they looked away. They found the €450 price mark for the Nexus 4 to much but I really would love to have a new phone.
The issue what I don't know what to take is also that fact that I am 18. I have been working for 2,5 years at a supermarket and my contract will end in August. Because of that I don't want to risk getting a subscription worth €28/35 per month as I will be unable to pay it when I can't find work.
So I have 2 option basically. Spare the money together and get the LG Nexus 4 Sim-Lock free without any monthly subscriptions.
Or get the cheaper Nexus 7 and have my parents also may a little bit.
My main purpose of the device is to explore the world of Android. Install apps, play games, music, videos. Pretty nice speed and I really would love to use What's App as everyone I know has it and would be really handy for when there is no other way of contacting them.
Hope XDA is capable of helping me out! Again I am happy to have joined this massive forum even trough I have never had my very own Android, WP, iOS, BB phone.
Best Regards!,

Save your money, get your license, drive to a better paying job then buy both.
Seriously though the nexus 4 is more useful and functional then the 7.

I'm sure everyone remembers this rumor from about six months ago. Where manufacturers could develop a nexus phone as long as it meet the requirements. Even though the s4 isn't labeled a nexus it meets the other requirements. Do you think that other manufacturers will follow suit and offer pure Google phones? I wouldn't mind seeing a dev HTC one.

I just read on BGR that HTC will not be making a pure Android experience One :'(

If they made a stock HTC One..... oh man, that might just make me jump from the Nexus o_0
If Nokia ever jumped the Microsoft bandwagon and considered making phones on Android + joined the Nexus program, wouldn't that be the most amazing thing now.

What you mean by other requirements? There are no requirements I know of. Nexus is a brand of products which are built for Google by OEMs as per Google's specification and requirement. S4 isn't built the way Google wants e.g it had hardware buttons and also carries menu button Google let go 2 years back.
This isn't the first time such a thing had happened. 2 years back Google gave Samsung tab to IO attendees with AOSP on it. About a year back Google did an exercise of trying to support Xperia S in AOSP headed by JBQ himself. The only difference is that this is the first time Google is selling such a device via Play Store.

Any wagers on Play store server crashing?
