Seems like whenever I haven't opened this app in awhile, it gives me a error. The error is something along the lines of folder missing them it has to redownload every email in my account. Has anyone else had this issue or figured out a fix for it yet?

sounds like something it doesn't like in a mail folder like a corrupt mail or something, is it pop3, imap or exchange?

ok so this started this past week. I get an email and I read and delete it on my phone. later on, I go back in the gmail app and in the top left corner by "inbox" it says I have a new email, however I don't actually have a new email...when I check the gmail mobile site it shows the same email I read and deleted earlier, as unread and not deleted...
does anyone else experience this/know what I can do to fix it?

uninstall the app and reinstall it from the market.
well I can't uninstall it fully (at least not from the market) but I uninstalled updates and then updated so I'll see how that goes

The same thing has happened to me. I'm on cm7 nightly 11.

Make sure your syncing is on. I had this problem, turned on background syncing and it was fixed. Hope that helps.
that was the first thing I checked haha. I have background data and auto sync both enabled though.

Happens to me all the time. I use gmail unread widget to view only unread mail to find the offending message

ADB / Root Explorer and delete Gmail.apk in /system/app/
I know that (sorry not trying to sound like an arrogant ass) so far uninstalling updates has worked though.

This is driving me mad. I've tried every workaround I can find, but it seems to be impossible on jellybean to send an email to contact groups.
Has anyone managed to get this to work?

Any ideas?

I've always hated the Gmail app. It was so ugly, un intuitive, and complicated. It's threaded messaging is a mess and confusing.
I always preferred HTC sense email when I used my phone.
Or better yet, windows phone 7 email is great.

So I go to the settings for tts and then what, how can I get the tablet to speech my email or something else ?

Try an app like Vlingo. It reads email and such.

Not specific to N4. Happens on my Galaxy S too, on the stock app. I don't remember it ever happening on Handcent. Maybe try that?
Yay! It worked

This is Google's way to stop any rogue app from spamming your contacts with SMS.
Have to root to get rid of it.

I don't own any rogue app. Pure stock and verify app on and the unknown source all is unchecked. Its only when I'm sending out message he gives me that error on multiply occasion.

But if you did have a rogue app spamming your contacts, this feature would stop it.

go to settings, app and then go to messaging in there, there is a option of send premium sms

When I copy and paste text from gmail, using either the app, or the browser, the bold formatting is lost. This is so even if I paste back into gmail. Anyone know a way round it?

I tried several times in the browser with no issues
Really? Just to be clear, I do mean gmail on the Nexus. I didn't state that explicitly as this is a Nexus forum. Bold is fine on the desktop. If you do mean on the Nexus, What did you do? I'm running stock 4.2.2 rooted. When I receive an email with bold text it displays, but I can't specify bold when creating, and when I copy and paste using the standard method- long press and position beginning and end points - the formatting is lost.
thanks
Nick
