Performance for aokp nook color - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was just wondering if there are any enhancements for the aokp from to make it smoother
Sent from my Nook Color using xda app-developers app

Aokp is the most ICS tuned Rom.
In comparison to other roms it comes already tweaked and only extra thing in mind is to enable start tweaks and sd card cache at Rom settings.
Did it try it and its slow for you?
In my opinion only free Ram is an issue but with a task manager you can control it.

I've used CM 9, and AOKP. Thus far, AOKP is the smoothest experience I've had with ICS. I was pretty skeptical of ICS on my Nook Color and stayed with CM 7.2 Kang until the recent AOKP release. That is your best bet.

nightlies vs stable 1.4 (ics 4.0)

I am running the 1.0 stable ics right now...am I missing anything by running this and not doing the ics nightly updated rom?
Not really. I follow the CHANGELOG and haven't found much going on since the stable version was released. Keep an eye on it for features you may need.
Can you offer an opinion on the EOS vs. stock ICS? I havent triedit yetbecause stock ICS seems so stable... Why is EOS better?

Not Me.
I've only tried EOS and the CM9 nightly and I personally won't waste my time with CM9 until it's at least at v.2 for xoom . EOS stable is rock solid for me and I would highly recommend it. Even the "Official" isn't official yet for xoom afaik.
I guess the only things I can think of are a few tweaks like built in overclocking, options for battery light, an AWESOME DEV TEAM, and other differences I'm not aware of.
The EOS Nightly 66 has the hide status bar option upon holding the power button. This is an amazing feature of this ROM. It always bothered me seeing the status bar when watching avi's or netflixs.

Which CM9 Rom is your favorite? Thx

Its been about three months since I have checked on the CM9 Rom developments and I see that A LOT of different devs have released a version of ICS. Which is your favorite? Thanks

I just recently loaded the "Reloaded 1.1" and it is pretty good, but not quite ready for primetime yet as it seems to freeze up often, screen doesn't wake correctly, wifi doesn't wake correctly.
These guys are doing amazing work, can't wait to have one that is 100%.
Currently have cm9 reloaded on my KF and havent experienced any freezing at all. I guess YMMV

I'm using the Energy ROM atm. No issues with anything besides HW accel.
Scores 3500+ in Quadrant.
But most ICS ROMs are the same atm.. All waiting for the 3.0 kernel to shine
I'm running reloaded. I've been using it for about a week and it's only SOD'd on me once. Wifi works fine. The only thing that's goofy is that my notifications settings won't stick. Either way, works good and my internet connection is too slow to redownload everything under a new rom install
I originally came from CM9 reloaded, the SOD problems were too much to handle. In currently running energy rom and it its really nice, only one SOD problem.

All The CM9 have the same problem at least that what I discoverd when I try it
but smoeway I see that Reloaded 1.1 is the best for me, it had the elegance and the beautiful look of the ics
about the problems all the ics have the same problem, the freez up and they all waiting for the 3.0 kernel and hope for the best
My sig says it all, and I haven't had any SOD issues. The MIUI kernel on ENERGY ROM allows OC to 1300mhz also, which can be a problem for some because not all kindles can handle that OC, for then, they can flash intersect ravens kernel.
I think most of the issues people have with CM9 ICS ROM's are kernel related, and at this point, the ROM's themselves are all pretty much built with the same code.

I'm a big fan of Reloaded Rom. It's been a great daily driver and v1.2 was just uploaded today.

My favorite is the reloaded... I am installing 1.2, the beta was pretty snazzy. It runs most of my games too
energy & modaco
personally the energy Kant cm9 Rom is my fav as looks have it but the modaco gr8 Rom has the best daily functionality.
I'm coming out with a stable AOKP (Reloaded, duh!) with 3.0 kernel, I have gotten many requests for that and I think people will enjoy it. Right now, I am running it and it's pretty good, it's not released yet but has many of the same features as CM9 Reloaded.
I'm running the Reloaded ROM and love it. I'm really looking forward to the 3.0 kernel (along with everyone else )
Reloaded is the best I've found so far!
I am running CM9 Reloaded 1.2H. Best ROM I have tried so far.

I'm running Reloaded 1.2h. With the 3.0 kernel and hardware acceleration it's just got much better.
Energy cm9 kang. Very nice ROM with HWA support. My kindle is very different experience now.

I am running the AOKP Milestone 5 from lithium76 of Team Kang.
Based on Hashcodes latest kernel with full HWA and all, it is running very smooth.
And I like the little tweeks and custom options. E.G. the navbar buttons with the menu button like on my Nexus S instead of the three little dots.
Really runs like a dream together with Nova Launcher Prime.

Most Stable ROM?

I'm looking to pass a Nook Color off to a younger sibling who is not very technological competent. I am trying to install the most stable, fuss-free ROM available for the Nook Color. I'm not very concerned about feature, but stability and reliability are priority.
Does anyone know what the most stable ROM is currently? Thanks.
I personally would go with the Mirage CM7.2 rom in the development threads. I have put this on several Nooks myself. Very stable.

CM 10 still has a few glitches and lags but Mirage has not given problems.

[Q] AOKP Roms

What is the most stable 4.2.2 AOKP ROM for this device? Also would you recommend that or CM10.1 RC5 for stability and features?
Could you please write we what is that AOKP?

Personally the most recent AOKP are pretty stable. You can use whatever you want based on your needs/wants in a ROM. If you find a rom that doesn't fit your expectations you should switch to another one. Play around with them.

AOKP = Android Open Kang Project. Its a rom with lots of customization options.
All Nexus roms are pretty stable for the most part and bugs won't affect your day-to-day usage.
I personally prefer Carbon. It has goodies from AOKP, CM, Paranoid Android's "Halo"
If you think AOKP has a lot of customizations, check Carbon you'll be blown away.
I agree about using Carbon We really have all the best customization options of AOKP, PA, CM and Slim roms all in a small package and that is near stock looking and runs SPEEDY and smooth.
AOKP Milestone 1 is surprisingly stable. The only problem I've found is the Recents Menu is somewhat buggy, that may or may not be a deal-breaker for you.
I'm using the latest nightly and it's been working flawless for me. Normally I stick with mile stones, but it had a 2g toggle bug in it that drive me crazy.

Cm7.2 official vs MirageCM7.2

Your thoughts?
Which is better and why?
Right now I have only just begun to use Mirage. It works REALLY well.
I was using CM7.2 Official and it ran okay but I have seen a huge improvement with Mirage.

Yup. I think cm 7.2 mirage supporting kcm. I have tried cm 10, 11 already, but they couldn't recognize my keyboard cover via usb.
To my opinion MROM is the best CM7.2 based ROM for Nook Color. From my experience it has the best battery life and great overall performance. One can download it here.

Downloading the latest MROM (20131003). Not sure if it can beat Mirage Rom's performance and stability though.
