Can anyone confirm if there is a quick way to add the stock ICS browser back onto the nexus 7 without having to root? Thx

Erm
You can just check install apps from unknown sources in the security part of your settings. On a side note, please watch this video...

Thanks for the link to the video:thumbup:
After searching it looks like nobody has successfully installed the stock ICS browser on the n7 without having to root the device.
I'll just start getting used to chrome then

I tried to look for this problem, but couldn't find anything relevant...
finally got my unlocked nexus 4 in the mail today!
was super excited, cut my existing t-mobile sim card (I'm on a contract with them) and was able to connect to their network.
the problem is that no matter what network i am on (wifi, 4g, 2g) i cannot download any apps from the play store. I click on 'install', it brings up the permissions window, i click on 'accept and download' and it tells me "[app_name] could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]."
Also can't update any apps...
I am extremely confused.. has anyone encountered this problem?

It is your nexus saying screw Facebook...if I was a nexus 4 I wouldn't want Facebook on me either.

I am with djwyman. Don't install FB app on your phone please. It is a piece of ****e software. Instead use your browser, chrome or Firefox. Works rather well.

OP, I do not know the source of that error, but from the screenshot it looks like you are using a custom rom. Try deleting some cwm backups. If that fails, do a factory reset and start over.
So I tryed every thing I could but when I try to install an app from my downloads I can't press the install button I looked it up and it turns out it that this app called screen filter that I download form the play store was the issue and by uninstalling it fix some peoples problem was fixed but I still have the issue I I reformat it everything I could on my phone but noting worked can any one help me plz

Did a google search and came to this thread. Thanks for the help!
Well, I'm not on a custom rom (running stock android 4.3) nor do I have the screen filter. Still there is this problem. Help please!

Go to Settings>Apps> View all apps and find your app in the list. open it and enable it
Tried but its not in there

If it's disabled, it won't be in alphabetical order with your other apps. It will be at the very end of the list.
In the settings menu it is named Contacts.

You sure you froze the app and didn't accidentally deinstalled it?

It's called Contacts.

Re-Check, the name might be. Contacts or it may be on the end of the list
If it's not, then try re-installing your rom or you can manually push the apk to /system/app/
thanks for all the help guys ive sorted it now
Same problem with People App

How did you sort it out? I installed Overstock rom on my nexus 4 and after that I am unable to add contact. I cleared data from Settings->Apps-> Contact storage , still no luck.. Can you please explain what steps you took to sort it out.
I heard that the Google now launcher was available with the last Google search update but I haven't got it, am I the only one?

You will have to download the launcher yourself. Here's the link- http://www.mediafire.com/?3ina0fd8fwki5fo

Installed this so big thanks to gnotelover, but one question.. How can I add more homescreens?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Select an app or widget, and then move it to the right of the home screen and keep going. A new screen will appear.

Thanks, been trying that and it doesn't work, nothing happens...

You need to move the icon to the edge of the screen to the right, hold it there for a little. It should automatically take you to a new screen.
Thanks guys, human error... I was trying to do it with a widget, but it works with an app, not a widget..

Is this Google Now Launcher the same as the 0.10.1.920880?
Or what is the version number for this new one?

Thanks Jhall8. Do you also happen to know how to stretch wallpapers too? I can't get any wallpaper to fill up the screen even very large high def images.

Thanks again. I've tried that already but didn't bode well with my favorite walls. Tried clearing data in Google search got rid of the black bar on the right of the wallpaper but stretched way too much. Oh well.
Can anyone confirm whether the latest version of Google Search and/or the latest Google Now launcher goes back to the 6 x6 grid that Google search version 3.1.8920880.arm had? Every time I tried updating to new Search version it cuts off one of the columns which throws my whole homescreen setup and wigets off. I think the updates cut it to only 5 columns
