After the long wait I've successfully rooted my p3100 without voiding my warranty and installed CWM recovery using mobile odin [flash counter is at 0 ] ,now that i search the entire tab 2 forums to find a suitable rom to flash using mobile odin , and failed to find one
1.Is there any rom that i can flash via mobile odin for p3100 ?
2.what formats does it support [i came to know it doesn't support .zip files] to flash a rom like CM9 or CM10 ??
3.Is there any special method to flash custom roms using mobile odin ?
4.does flashing kernel increase binary counter ???
:good: thank you in advance

How did you root your tab without increasing the counter?
Anyway you can flash roms only using any recovery. Odin is used to flash stock roms and the cwm recovery. Even customs roms can be flashed in the recovery, it does not increase the binary counter. No flashing kernel using recovery and mobile odin do not increase binary counter.
follow this thread to roo : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791193
i guess flashing custom rom using cwm recovery will increase the binary counter
i tried to flash a boot.img (cm9 kernel) using mobile odin but it did not recognize it ,i dont know where i am doing wrong
Flashing with cwm will never increase binary counter. If that happened it would completely defeat the purpose of mobile odin. Binary counter only increases if some thing is flashed through the download mode. To answer the second question put the boot.img in kernel option. I guess it should work then. Thank you very much for the info on rooting. Does it work on 4.0.4 or is the loop hole patched.
sorry that rooting method is for 4.0.3 only ,that loop is fixed in 4.0.4
thank you for the info

Yes, I managed it. I used CWM Recovery and CM10.2 - a little more detail here, hope that helps.
Yes, you can install custom recovery and ROM but you can't downgrade from the new MH8 bootloader at the moment and I think Triangle Away doesn't work with the new bootloader
ok thanx, i have now CWM instaled, now i have count binary set to 3, i need to know if i can run triangle away last chainfire, to set it 0..any one plz
It work..i reset my binary counter to 0, with triangle away 3.05..

hi i have a samsung galaxy s4 gt-i9505 xxuemj7 with android 4.3 and knox, how can i root and install CWM?
If your root and flash recovery note you will loose KNOX capabilities and trigger the KNOX counter and you can not downgrade to any lower firmware version after that.
If your happy with the above:
Flash CF-Root as PDA in Odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219803&highlight=chainfire
Then download any recovery you want to use, and flash again with Odin. Most here recommend TWRP or Philz Recovery.

I have an i9505 running stock Android 4.2.2 (JDQ39.I9505XXUBMF8) - rooted using CF-Auto-Root (jflte-jfltexx-gti9505 IIRC). My battery life is poor, and I was hoping that a ROM upgrade to 4.3 would help, but haven't flashed a ROM for a while. I was wondering if anyone could answer the following:
- First of all I guess I need to flash a recovery using Odin? Would Philz Touch Recovery be the best option, or is there a basic, more reliable Recovery mod?
- If I want to retain warranty, would it be best to flash a non-Knox ROM such as Omega v18? (which I believe leaves the original bootloader intact?)
- How can I tell whether or not I need to flash a new modem?
Is there anything else I should be careful/aware of when flashing the Recovery mod and ROM?

1. You can use either Philz recovery or twrp
2. If you want to retain a warranty You need to flash this http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23050663588004454 (Its a 4.2.2 pre-rooted rom) then download Triangle away to reset the binary and sent it for repair incase.
3. If you flash a Custom rom Omega, Golden, Echo, etc. you need to Flash a new 4.3 based modem to fix any data drop issues.
4. Never flash any 4.3 stock firmware from samsung via odin. =Newbootloader = Knox void warranty

Thanks for that. Do I flash the modem using Odin AFTER flashing the new ROM, or before flashing the ROM?

Actually it doesnt matter or you can just flash the modem and then the custom rom you want (Make sure to full wipe when your flashing any rom via recovery )and here's a modem http://www.mediafire.com/download/48r0rgqv25s8968/GSM_Modem_XXUEMFK_and_LTE_Modem_XXUBMH1.rar, download then extract and flash it via odin by selecting phone Make sure to turn of your phone manually before flashing via odin. Once your done check if your baseband version change into MKE . Have a nice day.
I am on a UK (vodafone) phone 4.4.2 KK and after rooting with odin and tripping knox (obviously) i installed CWM And TWRP and entered recovery but only after a long time i discovered that the recovery mode i was entering was stock .
In the recovery mode i couldnt find the option to install from zip only the option to install from external storage.
I have downloaded the CM 11 4.4.4 and put it on the external sd card.
In the recovery mode i navigated to the location of the CM 11 zip and attempted to flash it .
It goes through the process and at the end it says something like installation successful but the the phone boots into the normal stock firmware.
After reading a ton of material and articles i have discovered that my bootloader may be locked and this is the reason i cannot install CWM and flash custom roms.
In the end i have 3 questions.
Is there curently a solution to install CWM and flash custom roms on phones with locked bootloders ?
Will i be able to update to lollipop via Kies when is released ?
Will i be able to return my phone to its original state so that the lollipop update when it is released wont detect that the phone has been modified ?
Basically i am stuck. I have a rooted phone with void warranty and unable to install roms because the bootloder is locked ??????
I would really apreciate some help because i have run out of options and the frustration has reached stratospheric levels.
Thanks in advance for your help.
You rooted with ODIN and installed both CWM and TWRP .Thats all wrong odin is not root and you don't flash two recovery s .
You say your bootloader is locked = what model phone do you have .
Its reading as fail read the very basics .
Start at the beginning at for that you need to know what model number you have . You then find the correct root for your model and flash a recovery either CWM or TWRP not both .

Untick auto reboot in Odin when you flash recovery then boot to recovery using three button combo stock ROM rewrites stock recovery when it boots iirc

Hi..
Subject: Installing the custom recovery and latest cyanogenmod on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900.
A few details :
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900 running on stock rom Android version 4.4.2 and the build Number is N900XXUDND1. It is an Indian version.
I rooted my phone via Odin cfautoroot successfully but was not unable to load custom recovery cwm since the phone would go blank and stuck in boot loop.
I had to reinstall the stock firmware 4.4.2 via odin but could not install custom recovery via Odin and again stuck in boot loop . I reinstalled firmware 4.4.2 and tried installing custom recovery via flashify me app but again the phone went blank although I could go to download mode but stuck in boot loop.
I again reinstalled firmware 4.4.2 via odin but later I could not even root my phone via Odin!!..so I rooted my phone via king root app successfully and then changed it to supersu me root successfully without a problem.
Now the problem is I want to load custom recovery in order to load Cyanogenmod.
I tried installing cwm recovery via the clockworkmod app but it does not recognize my device officially.
I tried installing custom recovery via twrp app but getting error there also.
Now this is the info I see when I am in download mode:
ODIN MODE.
PRODUCT NAME: SM-N900.
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official.
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom.
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1
RP SWREV: A4
Is the bootloader locked in my device? Is this the reason I am unable to load custom recovery? I don't even know how to check the present status lock/unlock status of bootloader
I want to load custom recovery(cwm or twrp) and load the latest cyanogenmod at the earliest and I would appreciate if I can get step by step details of doing so.
Is it possible to do this without using a computer?...
Thanking you...
You do not need to root the phone before installing a custom ROM. You can install a custom recovery using Odin.
Some good info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/guide-root-note-3-sm-n900-5-0-install-t3069670

.... Hi.. Thank for replying so soon...
I checked the link you provided but it is all about rooting only.. As mentioned earlier, I rooted my phone and confirmed the same via root checker app. Now I just want to install cwm/twrp recovery and then go ahead and install cyanogenmod...
