Can I add the dialer to tablet? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
I want the android native dialer on my Nexus 7 tablet because it supports SIP natively. I don't like other SIP software. Is there any way I can port it to my Nexus 7?
Maybe copy contents of the /etc/systems/permissions/ from a phone to the Nexus 7?
Please let me know if this has been done before or should work.
Thanks,

Why not just use like Text+ or TextFree. You can make calls using wifi.

Why use anything non-native if native application can be used?
Robustness, simplicity, guaranteed updates, no bloat-ware, etc...are some of the many reasons why one wants to use stock software.

I'm sorry, did you just say "no bloat-ware" as a pro for running stock?
I'm confused, because there's all this bloatware stock programming on my Captivate Glide that I can't get rid of unless I root my phone and wipe it.

That's why I use a "GOOGLE" Nexus 7 which si very flexible and rooted.
Now, back to the topic, has anyone got the native dialer running on a device that doesn't have it on stock.
Thanks,

Same here.
I am also interested in trying to get the stock dialer onto my Note 8 tablet. Bump?

[Q] Mytouch 4g Dialer/Phone app

I was wondering if there is a way to export the Phone/Contact Manager off the original Mytouch4g ROM to use on any ROM. Cyanogen mod is underway and i kind of got used to the new dialer and will miss it. Maybe there are alternatives i can look at, but the original one works well on hd screens.
On another note, maybe we can get the dropdown Recent apps also individual? Is this possible?
Thank you in advance

[REQ] Bluetooth MAP Profile update.zip or Stock ROM

I've just got a new car with Ford Sync. Unfortunately it needs a Bluetooth MAP Profile to be able to send and receive text messages.
I've done some searching but can't seem to find any way to add this support.
From what I've read, Samsung add MAP support into their devices, so was wondering if anyone could rip it out of that and create a flashable ZIP or something for us on the Nexus 4?
I prefer running Stock ROM, Rooted, so don't really want to shift through the Custom ROMs out there to find one with MAP support.
I'd greatly appreciate it and I'm sure many others would too.
Cheers

Did you ever find the proper ROM for The Nexus 4 and bluetooth mapping? I am on 2013 Ford Explorer's MyFord Touch and get nothing with Cyanogenmod 10.1
crossing fingers you have the answers
Add me to the list of SYNC users who likes stock android but needs the MAP profile
Does Jelly Bean 4.3 add the MAP profile to the Nexus 4? I read somewhere that it did, so I upgraded my phone but it still doesn't work with MFT.
I just updated my Nexus 4 to KitKat and messaging now works with Sync! I can send and receive messages Thanks Google!

Can I install stock and S-Pen functionality?

Hey guys,
Assuming I buy a Note 3, can I uninstall TouchWiz and install stock Android look (like the Nexus 5), will I still be able to use the S-Pen? Like being able to click the button to have the menu pop up?
I don't want TouchWiz, but I still want to use the stylus pen.
Thanks

Use an AOSP ROM -you won't be able to use Samsung's SPen features, you'll have to use an alternative which can be found in the PlayStore.

Better Dialer / Phone App?

Friends--I've newly switched from the Nexus 6p (mine broke )
Anyhow, I'm (mostly) liking this phone so far. Other than the fact that the fingerprint reader (both in quality and particularly in location) is far superior on the 6p, this phone seems great.
HOWEVER--I HATE the stock dialer from Verizon. Really was happy with the stock Nexus one.
Anyone have any advice on a different dealer? It's really driving me nuts..
tried a few random from the play store, and haven't fallen in love.
Find Google dialer apk from xda and install it. I used it for a while on my old galaxy s6. There was one apk that didn't do a device check.

About to try it myself
Update:
Got it loaded but has to use an older version (rc4 I think). Then had to unset the default phone app from being the default. The only issue I've noticed is that the CALL option in settings of the app causes a FC
Can someone give a tutorial on how to backup my current phone app and install the google one? Thanks.

No need to backup the current one, just install the Google one open it and select it as your default
Is there a way to use video chat with this dialer? Any other bugs that have been noticed?
