Hi, I own an i5800 wich I did flash with latest Kyrillos ROM.
Now I need to sell it, so I wanted to reset to its original firmware and I flashed to various Android 2.1 stock fw found on samfirware, in order to upgraded it with Kies.
Problem is that Kies always tells me
"this model can0t be upgraded"
I could flash it with a stock 2.2, but I wanted to let the future owner to use Kies to upgrade the phone.
Somwhere I read it is a problem of CSC and country so Kies does not recongise the availability of updates if check against CSC fails.
I am from Italy. How can I flash it to a correct fw/CSC ?
Can anybody help me?
Thanks in adavance!
Hi
I'm not sure but I think it must be related to the "product code".
The only way to repair your product code is to manipulate the nv_data.bin file with a hex editor.
for more information go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780509
good luck
I don't remember where i have read that you'd better NOT flash back to Android 2.1 at random if you have a Android 2.2 on your device. It's will cause erro.
in your case, use ODIN
hi guys
if im from HK and i wanted to update my phone through Kies how would Kies know im from hongkong (ip or /efs ) since some places in the world have different updates
i read that if u rooted your phone and then found an update of Kies it would remove root and then update
is that safe ? does Kies know what its doing ?
and what about if u had a custom ROM and then updated through Kies is it safe
i googled this some people were fine some weren't
google
Kies updates via product code and hardware info .
i read that if u rooted your phone and then found an update of Kies it would remove root and then update
True but it may not find an update .
Kies is official updater its not for custom roms etc .
Rooting voids the warranty as do custom roms .
Kies updates original phone firmware via product code .
A lot of your Google threads are not SGS2 .

Have you not seen on this forums how 4.3 is such a baddie? But yeah as they guy/girl said above reinstall kies and if that doesnt work clear the cache or whatever on your S4?
Hi
I have Galaxy S4 I 9505 4.3 version
After doing the upgrade to 4.3 It became a bit slow, so I backed up everything using Kies 2.6
I reset the S4 to factory, plugged into stupid Kies, I get a msg saying I need an upgrade to Kies 3!
I upgrade to Kies 3... Try to restore, it does not recognize the backup from Kies 2.6
Seriously, the phone is awesome and all but Kies is the lousiest application I ever had to deal with!!!
Any ideas or help on how I can fix this...
Its a big problem for me...
Thanks

Have you tried restoring back to stock through ODIN? Download your stock firmware from the sammobile website, and follow a guide on how to restore your phone with ODIN.
Note that this will reset your device and you will lose all your data.
If that doesnt work then im not sure what you can do i'm sorry

If you don`t have the EFS folder backup up you need to turn it in for repair because there is nothing else to do about it. The motherboard will probably be replaced in order to get a new IMEI number.
hello? somebody help me? without imei null null samsung s5.. its root my phone..

There is no patch for something that is not restorable ie is gone. Have a new motherboard installed or sell the phone for parts, that`s it mate
I hope any other solution.. tnk help
You didn't provide much information for us. Not even what program you used to root or the Odin log and verbatim error messages. So it's uncertain what happened due to the lack of information.
Try writing a full, stock firmware image for your carrier with Odin and see if that restores your phone. If not, is your phone under warranty? You may wish to try making a warranty claim with your carrier. Otherwise you can look to a paid vendor for assistance. This forum does not condone IMEI manipulation and is the wrong place to pose IMEI questions. You may find a good Google search to be advantageous.
