I used Heimdall to download the PIT from phone and it is almost identical to the pit found on web... except the ending zeros....
Downloading I9300 PIT using Heimdall:
I would appreciate all professional feedback.
THe firmware contains the below files.
boot.img
cache.img
hidden.img
modem.bin
param.bin
recovery.img
sboot.bin
system.img
tz.img
I don't know what is:
tz.img
Any clue?
I will update the thread with my findings.
All this may be obvious for some, but I also met many people who miss "flashing with PIT" option.
I also read often that flashing with pit is not advised and dangerous.
So do all this carefully...

can mx.pit be used for 32gb s3 ??
thank you.
I still fail to see why anyone (with a working device) would want to flash using .PIT.... so many things that can go wrong with that....

ARM Trust Zone. (link)
The zeros in the other PIT file is padding.
Which is which, is the padded the one you downloaded or the one comming with the update?
Not sure if the padding it required for flashing, I suppose not, so if they are identical expect for those zeros, they are identical.
The pit "with zeros" is the one I downloaded from the device.
The one without zeros is the one found on the internet (I suppose 29.03.2012 version).
Sent from my Galaxy SIII
The padding is probably done by Odin anyway.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I actually want to reflash everything possibly onto my phone. I believe the modem area is corrupted because I can get data but no talk or text. It's a common issue and people say only sending the device to Samsung will fix it, but the phone is from the UK and I live in the US. How would I go about flashing these with ODIN, and would they do anything? I've tried EVERYTHING possible to fix the issue, including flashing new modems, ROMs, stock ROMs, kernels, formatting partitions, etc.
Im curious if there is a full firmware that will format all data on the phone. Like DATA.IMG in galaxy s2 i9100.
[please can you upload file in the other link hotfile closed please i need this tuto so much i be thankfull

Hey man, don't know if you're still active, since it's what like 6.
However thank you so much for this file. It has saved my bacon.
Just got a new S9, trading in my olddddd S3. Turned it back on before sending it off, and it's modded to ****. Needed to revert it before I sent it back! Could not flash anything to it. Tried with your .pit file. and it's worked perfectly!
Thank you!

To use these files, download all parts, after finish downloading select all then right-click and select "extract here" or "extract to <folder name>" then you will get an .md5 file. Rename this file by omitting the .md5 extension and you'll get the .tar file. Now, you can use this for flashing your Galaxy Tab M180s

GOOD DAY PALS
please i wanted to upgrade my SGT shw-m180s korea to ics 4.0.4 so i flashed it through odin,,,,,the flash went successfully-----
before flashing i was told that the first boot would take up to 5 hours so i flashed it ......i was waiting for it to boot ,just about 2 hours the device turned off.......
when plugged to pc it takes about 10 minutes to start charging.
when plugged with samsung charger it only takes 5 seconds to start charging
----------the worst thing is that it doesn't charge...it displays the battery icon
----so i tried booting it to DOWNLOAD MODE by holding vol up and inserting charger but my pc doesn't detect the device in DOWNLOAD MODE
-----it loads into custom recovery and shows battery life to be 1%///.----so i tried flashing custom roms it always ends with this error------
installation abort

Thanks Bro! Y need this
Lots more here:

Sorry, i'm not fluent in English, and want to be sure to understand: what means "stock"? Is it a "normal" rom, without any phone operator modification?
stock ROM means it's an unmodified ROM from manufacturer (in this case from Samsung) that is exactly the same as u would have gotten fresh off the factory. No modification from programmers or developers or phone operators, just the original samsung stuff.
Thanks a lot for your answer. That's exactly what i'm looking for.
Is it safe to flash the latest version available simply with odin or i have to do something else before?
Sorry haven't visited xda for quite a while, Does this include boot image? I'm coming from froyo? Is it okay to flash this to a froyo custom rom?

Select one package on the left. Odin will do the rest also the "pit" file needs to be added.
Europe Links are dead, can someone update them please?
Where to download the files
All the files seems to be removed. Where can I find them?
you can add links from this site as alternative downloads

Probably a sammobile.com firmware .
jje
This is not for i9300 but for i9308 which is a chinese variant as far as i know from googling, also found that i9308's stock roms are bloated to death with chinese apps and such. Simply just dont flash this as its for the china variant and bloated to hell.
I've come across a China Mobile I9308, and I have the Asian/Chinese firmware on it and firstly, removing the bloatware takes 3minutes (quick root flash via Odin, install Root Uninstaller App and remove all stock/bloatware apps). Secondly, to install Google Play Store (which took me hours to figure out), you need to install a "gapps(something or other. I can't recall).zip. Only problem I've run into is getting 4G to run after flashing it to AT&T. And last but not least, I think this is definitely not the Chinese Firmware. The Chinese firmware can be found in samsung's website and the file has a different name.

Latest ROM
I have a i9308 and any of the newer release of the "official firmware' messed up my start up and made it loop...
I installed this using Heimdall skipped the bootloader as it seems to fail in both odin and Heimdall on hardware build 6.00
I found the newest official rom bbs dot anzhi dot com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=6344702 ... sorry not enough posts to send out side links ... i under stand.
everything else worked fine.... after this and i was able to back and do the usual install of CWM ..... which failed using Heimdall ... again on the bootloader .... so using Odin it worked ... i used virtual box and Windows 7 ... with the latest Samsung drivers ....i had to create a specific interface for the Samsung in virtual box so the i9308 would mount with out conflict in windows .... i was then able to install CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4 ...
Once rooted i started looking for a way to install google play and all the google services.
i installed this ROM anzhi_karben_samsung_i9308_V1.0 which had the google drivers i needed and was not full of to much other crap and worked well in english ... i found this here bbs dot anzhi dot com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=6198323 i used my Wiebo account to do this and was then able to download.
I got the google pack ..... well one that worked and after i checked everything did not have any malicious scripts that i could find ... bbs dot anzhi dot com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=5401203 ... the zip file was gapps-ics-20120429-signed-4.0.4
i hope this helps some people Heimdall took a little after i figured out how to do this.... it was easy ... i have wiped it out a few times i nthe last week and tried different ROMs from the various Chinese boards ...some made very odd requests for SU access here and there ...i generally removed them after trying to find the offending script .... as i said so far the ones i am using have been pretty safe with little to no issues. I did go in and remove a lot of the preloaded China Mobile wares ...so far the phone is great ... i do fid the wifi signal sucks....
My first android i rooted myself ...see what happens after a drunk night in a taxi in Beijing and you lose your iPhone.... having fun.

Your best bet is to start over by flashing the stock MF3 files using ODIN. From there, re-root your phone, reinstall SafeStrap, and try again. You most likely flashed a non-TW based ROM... remember only TW roms work with SS right now.
If you have any other questions, I'll try to explain it in more detail.

First off, download ODIN 1.85 it seems to be the one that most people have the best luck with.
Grab the MF3 TAR files
Extract the MF3 files to a folder, say on your desktop. ie. MF3
Open ODIN and refer to this picture...

For more information about how to use ODIN you can refer to here, and here.
I've personally never had to use it, so my steps are only from general observation. You might want to double check yourself. So if anyone has has any other info to help him feel free to post.

What you have here looks good. I use Odin every once in awhile just so I remember how to use it.

Well it IS on SamMobile and labeled as T-Mobile USA: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N910T3/
There are actually SM-N910T, SM-N910T2, and SM-N910T3 acording to the Bluetooth SIG site: https://www.bluetooth.org/tpg/QLI_viewQDL.cfm?qid=25312
My guess is they are just different hardware revisions of the T-Mobile USA variant. I remember the Note 3 had at least two hardware revisions, the second one had a different display driver chip than the first one and TRWP had to build a new version for it to make the screen brightness work again.
This firmware image could be just a "common" firmware image for all three revisions.

Could be? Can anyone with a sammobile account upload or does it have to come from a site admin? I am also a little surprised they don't have a post on it up.
Going to flash when I get home from work. I extracted the modem and looks like it has the "T-Mobile USA Root CA" in it as well as the following line:
N910T3UVU1DOFC 1976227 SM-N910T MDM9225M REV1.1 N910T.002
Looks good to me!

For what its worth here is the build info from COD6 vs DOFC modem.bin. It looks like they both refer to the N910T as N910T.002 and both using the Qualcomm MDM9225M baseband.
COD6 = N910TUVU1COD6 1935620 SM-N910T MDM9225M REV1.1 N910T.002
DOFC = N910T3UVU1DOFC 1976227 SM-N910T MDM9225M REV1.1 N910T.002
I've made a flashable zip of it and tried it on the n910f but didn't boot got an error with the modem. I had no issues restoring a backup though if anyone on a tmob wants to try

The zip is failing because of the modem on the tmob as well by the looks of things. Flashing the modem.bin and non hlos.bin with odin Might get the zip to boot but I don't know
