When will the N7 be back in stock in the Play Store? From my understanding, the 2nd wave of N7s should be free of most of the defects plaguing some owners.

Considering this will be bought from google play for the majority of people... Will there be supply issues?
I haven't purchased anything from google play before and I don't want another 4s fiasco in which I had to reserve an iPhone before I could purchase on before store (they went out of stock within seconds to reserve one, and this was about a month after release)
So my question is this. Will there be supply issues, or is a simple pre-order basis and I will be guaranteed the device once it is released?
There is no pre-order. At this point it looks like most people agree it will be OOS shortly after it's available for purchase unless Google had an enormous amount of stock. So prepare accordingly.
I don't think it will be on the scale of any iPhone though.
Ah good, all being well I'm going to order on the day if it lets me... and hoping my iPhone sells on eBay before then haha, thanks!
N7 launcher was a disaster. But somehow it did even miss back-to-school sales wave. The N4 is about to miss the biggest shopping season of the year! And new items are coming soon to tempt us, for instance, Samsung Galaxy Skin: http://online.wsj.com/article_email/SB10001424127887324556304578116392091283994-lMyQjAxMTAyMDEwMzExNDMyWj.html#
Seriously, folks, how much longer are you willing to wait and why?
Hey guy i know im just doing this to rage but is anyone else pissed off that LG completly screwed over supply of the nexus 4 and caused a huge drop in population of this phone. Turned off a huge amount of people wanting to purchase this phone.

LG is not happy i guess with the overwhelming popularity of the (cheaper) Nexus 4 as the similar and more expensive Optimus G will sell a lot less than planned. This is actualy the first LG i ever bought in my life, but only because of the fact that Google provides the updates instead of LG. I allready have mine for week now, got it from Media Markt in Germany. I waited for 6 weeks, pre-ordered 07-11 and got it 21-12.

No you are getting it wrong. LG didn't drop the ball here. Google did. Yes LG manufactured the phone, but the shortage is on the Play Store only and not in physical stores. The Nexus 4 being sold on Google Play is subsidized by Google, and hence is available at a much lower price. The Nexus 4 you see in physical stores (from what I have heard this isn't commonly done in the US, hence the confusion) are not subsidized by Google, and so the prices are a lot more expensive. There is a shortage on the Play Store, but if you live in a country that has unsubsidised Nexus 4 (i.e. the phone is being sold by LG directly instead of Google), it shouldn't be difficult to getting hold of one albeit at a higher price.
tl;dl Google dropped the ball, not LG.

I heard the complete opposite. I dont recall exactly but someone from google reported that it was LG that was not supporting enough to supply the need provided by the public. And that google didnt drop the ball they just werent given enough units to sell
LG is a massive manufacturer. There is no doubt that they can deliver what is written on their contract.
Google just under estimated the public interest this device would receive.
The thing is, Google is quite right. As far as I know nexus s sold like half a million. Why would they order 2 million for the N4?
If I was the guy in charge I would honestly order 500.000 units to start with. And you all would be cursing my mother all day long
By the way LG has a production line capacity. And Google knows this capacity better than LG does. I don't think the capacity is as high as samsung's capacity due to LG never needed a big capacity plant.
I bought the LG tab from Newegg when it was $249 because I watch Newegg for this kind of thing. If HP had gotten off the mark with their Slate 8 Pro I might have gone for that because 4:3 is good for reading. Yes it came unsealed. Yes it showed some marks of having been handled. I have no doubt whatsoever those smudges were due to handling during quality control, packing, whatever. If it cost another $1 to have the thing wiped down and covered with plastic front and back, they should have. No one's bought this thing yet. So there aren't many returns to ship. So I suggest to chill about returning the thing because it wasn't shrink wrapped. I bought an $800 LG HDTV and it wasn't shrink wrapped either. Good tv.
My g pad is just fine. Not too yellow, no blue line, piss poor sound from the speakers, good wifi and BT, complete Play Store compatibility. Nothing's perfect but it's fulfilled my expectations as to size, resolution, color, sharpness, wifi robustness, abd drivers, etc. etc.
Rooted from day one, which was within all of three weeks of availability at only two major retailers. Best Buy doesn't seem to know they have it. Newegg gave it away in spurts (unsealed!).
I've had this less than a week and already there's a stable fork of CM11. My precious Nooks (I have two running CM10.1) will be thankful for what they've got.
If I ever get fool proof restore after a flash, I'll be content for the nonce. I've tried Titanium and Helium multiple times and each of them hung so often during restore after a crash it almost wasn't worth the trouble to back up. (Google should take care of this, since privacy is not their problem).
Be that as it may. The LG g pad 8.3 GPE is *almost* worth $350. It would be an excellent Xmas present for someone who would appreciate it. Raise your hand if you're the only person you know like that.
But living in the world of Loki doki and flashify and *.lok vs *.img has been lots of fun so far. In my wildest CWM dreams I didn't think this weird Gangnam style tablet would introduce me to TWRP.
It's a good tablet about to become really good with Google's endorsement. Lucky us! Hey pretty lady!
$64,000 question. After six months of GPE availability, do the "original" g pads come back on the market at $250. I suspect LG overproduced which is why they called in their friends at Google to pull up the slack. Google can't discount their older products willy nilly so if there are too many of them will they put back the LG sw and sell it at a deep discount?
Begging the question, how does "vanilla" kitkat get on to the GPE devices? Does LG ship the units to Google who installs the rom and warehouses them or does Google send approved ROMs to the OEM who flashes them and sends the back.
Haven't seen any discussion of this in the uninformed speculation about the marketing strategies of two giant global companies.

Lg is in charge of the software on the GPE G Pad....just like HTC and Samsung are in charge of updating their GPE handsets.

I'm looking into purchasing two nexus players so I can play games on both of them and play multiplayer with them, but is there still a great user base where if I were to buy these devices, would the support cease shortly or have a great longevity?
It's not even been out for a year. And now it's getting it's first really big OS update.
So I'd think that the user base is currently increasing. Despite some people who might switch to the Shield TV if they are into gaming.
I think shield is a better choice if you're into gaming, although casual games works great
Thanks for letting me know, I went ahead and bought the last two at my local store so I thank you for the advice, and among gaming I use my Xbox for that too low I just enjoy a bit of android gaming here too
Hopefully you bought them at $49 each... On sale at BestBuy & Walmart.

you know how much I paid for mine back in April? exactly double that amount.
can't believe you can get it for all almost the same price as a Chromecast in those places.
btw the joypad didn't come cheap either.
Same here. And now I get to watch the damn thing bootloop.
Sigh... guess I'll wipe my cache again.
