So Seperated... - Galaxy S III General (US Carriers)

So, where did the seperated forums go? I can't find them for the Galaxy S3's! = (

Don't worry Bro, while the mods are pulling all the threads different directions, things are gonna be a little wonky. Once everything is placed in its new home, the dust will settle & all will be in their separate forums. I the mean time the forums might disappear & reappear.

Please refer to this post. Also how do you use xda?

I still think that @ least the accessories thread should NOT be split... If @ all possible can we make that happen

They are being fused with the international afaik. So no matter what section your in, accessories will be the same for all

Sweet! Much better...less clutter to sift through

WTH?
Why must you guys insist on messing with the forums? This is like the 3rd time and now "welp" , just wait it out.

no, you're right. its much easier for me to skim over 3 other carriers threads that will never apply to me than have to wait a couple days...

I'm confused
All carriers have Been seperated again only to be fused with international ver???

If its that serious just use tapatalk and the separate forums are still there...

There is now a separate forum for all 4 carriers plus international version EXCEPT for accessories. All the links to the accessories forum go to the same international accessories forum.

Samsung is all talk and no action!! They need to prove themselves by doing!
They can start by recalling all Galaxy S variants that say they have a GPS issues and fix the antenna contacts in them.

A little organization please

Would like to see the debt section organize into sub folders to.seperate the confusion. Example:
Sub:roms
Suborts
Sub:betas
Sub:kernels
Sub:wips
Would help find things easier

I think it's fine the way it is
I wish it was by Developer
EVO Development split into 3 parts, sections for ROMs and kernels and guides/tweaks.
Then have it broken down by developer or by how recently it has been updated.

I think maybe a sticky listing AOSP vs. Sense would be cool.
Or maybe a new subforum called "Outdated development" that everything older than like 6 months could be moved to. Not complaining, just offering some thoughts.
That's one thing SDX does, is ad child categories per version, like listed above, ie. 2.1, 2.3, etc....

a ROMS subforum and a Kernel subforum would be nice. we dont need ports and betas subforums cuz that'll just be confusing, and we dont need a WIP subforum since everything is a WIP.
I've already tried talking to the mods of the Evo 4G forum and they didn't think it was a good idea. This was about a year ago though.
just read about what your looking for in the forums, it might be a pain in the ass but atleast you'll learn something. plus thats what the search button is for.

no i get it believe me, i just dont think the mods/admins would go through with it. the way the site is now personally i thinks it best left the way it is, makes the noobs actually have to search and read to find what their looking for. thats just me though.

[Poll] do you like this new combined gs3 forum

I don't like it
Also guys when you vote please post something
This keeps the thread up high
Far from the second page
Some things are common across the GS3 independent of the carrier but there are some that are dependent on the carrier. General accessories could all be grouped into one but carrier specific ship dates, etc, being jumbled all into one it's hard to find threads you aren't subscribed to. Looks like I need to subscribe to more but somehow mute tapatalk from notifications.

XDA isn't a carrier forum. Go to HowardForums or Sprint.com if you want that.
XDA is about DEVICES. The L710 is the same configuration no matter what carrier you're on. This is how it should be.
Back in my day, under the HTC Vogue, we supported both Verizon and Sprint, and we liked it.
I don't like it. I can understand things where there are overlap like accessories, but having a carrier specific forum for general was nice because we could talk about carrier specific topics.
I get what the admins are trying to do. Save server space from redundant threads....However, AFAIC it still sucks.
I like the way things are, but time will tell how much of an unholy mess it turns out to be...

dont they all have the same hardware? so wont roms made for one, work for all? with separate forums devs will have to make multiple redundant threads?
As long as people aren't ignorant this will be fine.

No, they will not work across each carrier, in theory they can. But I'm gonna guess each carrier has diff apps added. And diff framework icons. So the answer is no, they will not (radios get flashed outside of roms these days, no problem there).
Anyways this is related to the general section, development is still split, which is great.

And I guess you know what it means to have diff related things that arnt common between carries also right, that's why they split up development. And should have also made diff general sections.

Themes are diff across each carrier also, they should be split.

no good especially since the forum names are the same as the internatrional sgs iii.
so in apps like tapatalk and xda in favorites you now have to forums where the names are exactly the same.
I think it would be better. Better development, better collaboration, pooling of dev resources.
Now it won't be noob friendly because I can see noobs already flashing AT&T Radios for a Sprint phone and bricking their devices.
I like and hate it. I think it was too soon to combine the General forum. These devices are still in a very volatile shipping status and until that clears people will be using the general threads to see if anyone has any updates. Clutters the whole process.
Yes Themes should be split. Were not talking Metamorph here. We are talking actual apk's and framework files. Xml diffs etc...

I can see how some people think it's a mess.. I mean lets face it tons of people do not bother reading or searching, So I can see this being a problem for those types. I mean now they have to go though a WHOLE two forums to NOT search for what they want and NOT read.. lordy lordy the sky is falling!! what on earth are we going to do? You mean we have to be a tiny bit less lazy than we already are?? lol
I saw the change last night and it didnt take rocket science to see what happened. I was like "oh ok kernels, cm, miui in here, sammy cooked roms and mods there".
If anything it's more organized now, not a mess..
Ya its not exactly complicated to figure out, and ya, if anything it's more organised.
My only gripe is the app, still no original Android development tab.
That guy last night that posted about JB sources when there was another two posts below was typical of what's going on here, I even got a screenshot of it to post but once I went into the thread someone had already very kindly pointed out the OP that he should use search! :But ya, its ridiculous and no amount of posts or stickies or whatever seems to stop people doing it.

I thought he meant the forum split of Original dev and Android dev

Closed, as it seems the OP got the wrong forums.
Let me take a moment to remind everyone to REPORT problem/dupe/uneeded/unconstructive posts or threads, dont respond, report, and we (the mods) will get on it and sort it out.
We cant be everywhere, and if no one reports it, it normally wont be seen.
And leaving notes in threads for us, doesn't work, PM the section mods, or use the report system.
Thank you and happy XDAing.

OG N4 android development vs N4 android development??

Can someone please tell me what the difference is between those sections? And why can't they be merged into one N4 development section?

Disagree. What's the point of covering something that is extremely easy to find? A bit of a joke with a sprinkle of ridicule goes a long way to teach a lesson that 99.9% of questions are answered already and are easy to find using google.
I think it adds a bit more confusion and extra work to sort threads out. However, I'm not driving the ship!
