[Q] Does this have gorilla glass?

does it have gorilla glass?

according to cornings website it does

Nope no gorilla glass, Acer confirmed to me the other day that the screen is a Cinecrystal LED backlit, TFT LCD, tempered glass with fingerprint resistant coating.
I think it's the Iconia double screen laptop that has the gorilla glass.

Interesting, that's been updated since I last looked, also odd that acer wouldn't confirm that when I asked them.

True story. Wrote Acer 4 separate times thus 4 different people vs. followups regarding the type of RAM in the A500. Terra 250 ventana is supposed to support DDR2 667, but many blogs and sites with FCC sourced specs say DDR3 so I wanted to confirm.
3 say DDR3, 1 says DDR2. What shall I believe?
Point/Morale? You get it, right?
Would be cool if G glass was in it. Says so on their website so I'm inclined to believe it.

Glass is glass. All touch devices use glass made to be touched.buy a protecter or deal with scratches .I think this topic has been beaten more then any on this forum.read read.then post if you can't find it

Corning has done a pretty good marketing job it seems, most people seem to think its unscratchable. Then they freak out when they find a scratch.

Does the n7 have gorrila glass? I know it says that it is made from corning™ scratch resistant glass but is it gorrila glass?

I doubt it. I'm sure they would be advertising it as such if it did.
Its like my T-Mobile Galaxy S3. The International models have Gorilla Glass. Mine has Corning Scratch Resistant Glass.

From all the reviews I've read, yes.
Even Gorilla Glass can scratch so no big deal for me.

Personally i don't care too much because this isn't something that will be going in my pocket or bag, realistically if it's with anything else (like in a bag..) I'm going to be buying a sleeve for it, i don't really feel like a case and my dad has a sleeve for is playbook and it works well for him, so should be good

I was wondering if our device has a scratch-resistant (Gorilla Glass), and i asked it on Samsung Live chat confirmed that it does have Gorilla Glass, but he doesn't know which version it is (I tought it's the first gen of Corning display)...

I am not 100% sure but I think tab 2 don't have gorilla glass because if it has why would Samsung not make it official in product promotion????

Tab 2 no it doesn't have Corning Gorilla glass, the galaxy tab instead it.
See the section "product with gorrilla" on the site corninggorillaglass

googled it quick, and it seems it doesn't.
"Although the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will not offer Gorilla Glass, it will offer Samsung's own Glass panel that offers impact, shatter and scratch resistance." - Samsung rep.

I think it is not the official Corning Gorilla Glass, but it has a resistant screen. I've seen a lot of drop test on youtube, and the SGT2 was the only tablet I've seen so far to resist falling directly on the screen.
Wish the screen had anti-fingerprint protection, because mine gets very oily, with low usage.

Change default gorilla glass?

I bought a new tempered glass last week and i want to know if it is possible to remove the default gorilla glass and apply the new tempered glass ... Or i just apply it above the default gorilla glass?

Why would you want to remove the Gorilla Glass (which is absolutely not possible)? There is a reason that the phone has Gorilla Glass.
You have to apply the tempered glass on top of the Gorilla Glass but remove the thin film protector first which is on the screen by default.
Just use your nail to remove it
