Depending on if it works with your phone or not, there's an app on the play store called boot manager.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.drx2.bootmanager.lite
It's a little tricky to set up, but a nice too nonetheless. Worked great on my droid Inc when I wanted to try out alpha ics roms without having to nandroid back every time.

Hi, kai v2 does not connect good with the tab-slow and poor ui.also cannot tether(?). Uninstalled and back with old version 1.5. Can download 98mb for about 15 min using kai v1.5. An hour or 2 using normal laptop connection!!!!
Other members may have different experience though.

The one in kies is for bada

Its on samsung apps on the device itself. The download is big (100+Mb) so better be on wifi.
meh wish that us carriers didnt strip it from the device...
Guys,
In need of a bit of advice....
Today I noticed for the first time whenever I play any game about 10 seconds into the game it will pause and the only way to carry on is to 'un-pause' the game.
It then will play for around another 10 seconds then pause again.
I have had a look at what new Aps I have installed but it does not appear to be any of them.
I have rebooted the Tab several times but still it carries on pausing game play by itself.
Any ideas??
Have you tried stock clock speeds
Did you modify your device, whether through rooting or changing your rom? This is the first time I've heard of that problem. O_O

No, nothing modified. Had I altered anything I would hopefully have the answer.
I normally help many but this is the first time I have been stumped.

I would backup everything with titanium, then try with a fresh new rom.

The backup would simply include whatever is causing the issue.
Plus I don't really want to start playing around with the Tab. As a surgeon I have quite an extensive amount of data I need access to and I can not afford to have a Tab that becomes unstable after a ROM chop.
Basically I need to ascertain what is causing the problem just as I would with a patient.
I mean install only one game after the fresh new rom, to see if it's a hardware problem or a software one.

Thanks... but as I said I don't really want to go down the avenue of putting a fresh ROM on my Tab.
I don't have the time to make a backup, do all the ROM update requirements, install Apps one by one, etc. etc.
The Tab is working fine in all other respects.... It just will not play games without dropping into Pause mode.
Any other time I would have done all this myself... I have helped countless others to do this and have walked many a forum member through the procedure so I am fully verse with all the requirements... but time is not a luxury nor is it necessary given the Tab in all other respects works fine.
This is definitely a software issue... that I do know.
Another twist I am noticing..... Not only is the Tab pausing every game you load but some games (Asphalt 5 to name but one) will stop during game play, reload the game then take you to the the screen with options to either continue or exit... in other words it's acting very brutal on games.
But why only on games, that is what is so confusing?
All I need is an idea chaps.... a simple idea to work on.
Thanks.
The original ICS Phase Beam wallpaper that comes with AOSP or AOKP is not working....there is the still backgruond image but no moving things...hope others have seen it too....please reply....thanx in advance..!!

I tried everything... I noticed the problem about 2 weeks ago. I have even pushed the titanium files from my ET4G over to the tablet, wiped data and still no dice... I can also confirm gummy phase beam is not working on the tablet as well.. lol. I tried...

Got my Nexus 4 today, currently I have the Samsung vibrant, is it safe to backup (titanium) all apps on the vibrant and restore them on the nexus 4?
Any other tips for migrating?
Thx!

Dunno about titanium, maybe if you were on Jellybean on the other phone. Otherwise i would say that its probably not transferable
Just poked my head in to say that i had the vibrant and its an amazing phone.. Sometimes i even miss it a little lol.
Welcome to the forum, im sure youll love your N4

As long as they are user installed apps there should not be a problem. Don't restore system apps.
It is however not advisable to restore apps from a different OS version. And the phone you have didn't even have ICS.

It would cause ALOT of problems, mainly because reusing apk's can cause errors and force closes. Just back up the data not the apk/app. If anything doesn't work clear data for the app.

Hi,
Currently I am using 4.2.2 on my Vibrant (SlimBean Rom), so it is the same OS.
Well, I've just now setup the phone (I am one of those who use to do a full charge before first boot), and choosed to
restore my google account, besides of settings it is also installing the apps for me. Now somehow it installs only the apps
that I currently have on my phone and not all the apps that I've ever downloaded (maybe I used Titanium to remove market links
the last time I restored my Vibrant phone, dunno).
Anyway, so I am starting clean, which is better I believe...
Thanks!

Hehe, yes, the Vibrant is a great phone, but must admit it is getting old and slowish when running 4.2.2, time to move on...
Hello, I am able to download the navigon usa (4.6 or 4.7) onto my rooted galaxy s4 without any problems. However, I can not download the map for individual states for some reason. I have tried with almost all custom roms, and I have never successed. It used to work really nice on rooted galaxy s3. Can someone please shed some lights on this? Thanks so much.
Google maps not working good enough because I find it to work perfectly on a rooted stock or custom ROM. What's your main gripe with maps

The reason I have to used Navigon USA because it does not use my data and it uses satellite. That's why it's convenient. Thanks.
Navigon works fine for me on the S4 with both stock & AOSP ROM's. But it has been a few weeks since I've had to download any new maps.
Could be their server is having issues. Or maybe your account with them is having issues?

I don't think its server has problems since I've been tried everyday for the last few weeks. I've used to install on my rooted Galaxy s3 without any problems at all. Whenever I've tried to install on my rooted Galaxy s4 and I kept getting this message 'the download may take some time due to the size of files involved..... ....' What version are you currently using and where can I download it for free? Thanks so much.
Oh OK I didn't know that thanks for the info
