I need a ROM and kernel that can give me the most juice out of my battery for a weekend without any ways to charge my phone. I don't care about performance.
Do you really think this has not been asked before?
There is no "Best". It's subjective. What works better for someone may work worse for you. Its all about a billion variables and only you testing each combination will give you the answer.

Here with XXBLFB + my ROM Update using:
Speedmod : 7h 20min screen on
Franco : 6h 40min screen on
Neak : on test but will give me more than 7h too.

OP, the best way to get the best rom is to read and decide. Opinions will vary and it will end up being a flame war. Please test them out and decide which is best for you. Thank you.

I see that there are a multitude of threads on this forum about best ROM/Kernel combos, but I am looking at it from the standpoint of which gives the best battery life. Performance is not an issue, all I am trying to do is get excellent battery life. I would like to keep SenseUI if possible, and an undervolted Kernel is a must. I have seen some information on Ava-Froyo V9 and was wondering if anyone has tried it and do they like it? Any information would be much appreciated.
I loved Baked Snack 1.7, and at one pointing got 21 hours of battery life, I am using myn's Rom now andking it so far, both use sense

Go to the kernel testing thread. In there you'll find which is most efficient, the idle energy draw is probably the most important stat. FWIW, CM w/ Snap 9.5 has the lowest energy draw and so probably the best battery life -- it's what I use.

if you like sense,
ROM - evio 1.4 or baked snack 1.8
kernel - kings #6 bfs or baked snack #6 (reads #2 in software info)
+ 2 to looking at the kernel comparison site someone put up.
To me it is completely biased though because what works great for one person and their EVO does NOT mean it will work as great for YOU. I would first find a ROM that you like and then experiment with trying each different kernel. Remember to wipe the caches before you switch kernels and give them a few days to balance out and see what they are like.
Personally I get the best battery life with CM 6.0 Final + Kings CFS.
Then there is the whole CFS vs BFS debate, again TRY IT FOR YOURSELF. My phone eats battery like crazy and it will drain in a few hours, with moderate use, and if I switch to CFS I get about 40% more battery life.
So what I'm trying to tell you is that take everyone's recommendations with a grain of salt and try every kernel and BFS/CFS and see what works best for you!
Good luck man
I'm getting ~36 hours off Fresh 3.2. I tried going to 3.3 and tried Myn's but neither came close. Not sure what the difference is, but I'm good with it.
Thanks for the replies guys, it's been a big help!
Which doomlord kernel for the play is best with batter or which didnt have the battery drain or the one dat is best with battery
A lot of people are saying it's the baseband of 4.0.2.A.0.42 that creates the drain, and updating to 4.0.2.A.0.58 helps fix it. So I suppose the best combo would be DooMKerneL v08 and firmware 4.0.2.A.0.58 currently
so can you maybe tell me ur governers and how u use them when u play games for example
I use the smarta**v2 governor cuz I just find it's a great median for performance and battery Some Governor Descriptions
I never overclock because I just don't find it that useful but if you really want to, I wouldn't recommend going higher than 1.6ghz because the battery may get too hot.
Undervolting is a MUST if you want better battery, but it's tricky. The app I use to undervolt with is OC/UV Beater2v1.7.. Just be careful to NEVER apply the changes as permanent until you know for sure that they work correctly (luckily there is a failsafe that you can flash on the same forum, just in case you do mess up )
Ah allright man thanksf or the help also can u tell me how much battery u get from it usually
Well I use the Mugen Power 3600mAh battery so it's a little hard to compare it to a normal battery, but I have 14% battery after 2 days 2 hours and 49 mins of the phone being on and used moderately heavily
oh aye got it man thasnk dude aint dat battery a big one lolz
Yeah it's a big battery, but awesome battery life
Hello all,
I want to install PA3, and I want to know what is the best kernel for battery performance.
Thanks!

Stock PA and matr1x kernel are both really good, with matr1x the battery life is about 5 hours screen, without screen it is just 1%/2 hrs.
I've tried franco and faux kernel too, but franco was a bit laggish and faux has terrible performance for me...slow ui, lots of framedrop in games...
There is no best kernel. All of them offer something a little different than the other. Some kernels work better with a ROM than others. My advice to to read up on them. Find out what you want out of it. Flash one and run it for a couple days. Make sure you let the battery drain past 20% then charge it without interrupting it. That's the surest way to gain maximum battery saving benefits. Just try them out until you find the one that's right for you. Happy flashing.
its actually made so that you dont have to worry about this stuff. kernel is just a cog. it twists and turns, who cares. unless you know exactly what youre missing of course. :cyclops:
People say the best kernel depends on your phone but how can you tell? By performance? Battery Life?
I only have tried Franco and Matr1x and both are kinda the same for me atleast and I only get 3-4 hours of screen time with minimal use, no sync apps, wifi only, brightness down mostly all the way, greenify some apps, uv -100. Im trying to find the best kernel that helps with battery life and most people say its Franco or Matr1x and I already tried both...I've yet to try Faux, Trinity, or Harshs....Help

I have tried Faux. in my opinion, it is less smooth than the two you have tried

try them. the right one will feel right to you. it will feel best overall on your device and to you. if you were given five dishes of food that youve never tried before, or heard of, what would you do to decide which is best for you. youd try them. your taste buds will let you know. but everyone else that tried would have varying opinions as to which is best for them. they are all good, but our needs and expectations and usages all vary.
^^^ This is the only answer you need...
Any other response just means that this turns into an opinion thread for best kernel.

every kernel for someone will be the one that gives them the best battery life, and for someone else the absolute worst battery life. every device differs, and every device reacts differently to every kernel. you really have to try out all that you can, only then youll find the best battery kernel for your device.

Thanks Simms22, because you so honest, I will try you're kernel.
Thanks Again!

truth be told kernels dont do much for battery life... or very little. Its apps that will cause battery life issues.
I have been fond of franco kernel, and undervolting 100mv across the board.
You could check this thread, personally I use NEO kernel and tune it to my liking using TricksterMOD.

Hells-core, franco.Kernel.Plus, Matr1x and Semaphore have always been very battery-friendly with me. But I always go for performance because I am almost always near a charger. Hells-core has always been the best at performance and battery life.
it is your setup and apps where you can get or lose battery life, that is true. taking real control of your apps, and when they run, can intensively improve battery life. also your data/phone signal. i get much better battery since going to lte. data tranfers faster, so the radio is running much less. that itself added an hour of screen on time to my battery cycle.
