When I stream a video from my Dropbox account, it causes it to letterbox the letterbox. The video literally is showing on just half the size of the screen. I can find no way to change the default player that shows the video while streaming from cloud storage. Is there any way to do it? It's pretty aggravating to watch a video that is 1/2 of the letterbox size it should be. If I watch something on the Google video player, I CAN resize the video, but I cannot launch the Google video player to stream from the cloud.
Any help?
Nobody streams video from Dropbox on their N7???

Dropbox streaming videos is a joke. You can't check your mail or answer a call and return and expect to resume. Switch back to the app, and the video starts all over again. Plus no means to reposition in stream means its a big fat FAIL
I see your points, but would still like to know how to resize the video.

What video type are you trying to stream? Does it effect other types of videos too?

Anyone know a Free program I can edit the G1 Videos with and pull Stills out of the Videos?
VLC Media Player can grab stills from videos. Pause the video, right click on the video and choose "snapshot"
I cant get any videos playing on my nexus one!! Sometimes they only play the audio and the video is a black screen! Youtube works fine but podcasts dont work! The myPod app (for podcasts) finds the podcasts fine, but when i click to watch the video of it, only the audio plays and a black screen. Same thing with a .m4v on my sdcard. Black screen with audio. Anyone else have videos working?
.m4v is apple protected file right?
I had this issue with downloading files from NPRs app. I was told to just change the file extension and it would work, but it did not for me. If you install doubletwist (in the market) I think this will solve your issue. I was just reading a review of the nexus from an iPhone guys perspective and he was gushing over the app and how it played ALL of his video files..

I have no experience with it (but I will tomorrow).
anyone else get videos to work?
why can the nexus one read the audio of mp4 podcasts but not the video, only displaying a black screen?
The podcats on Revision3 stream perfectly. m.revision3.com
What method do recommend in playing movies and other videos on the Nexus One from what files to play, how to transfer them to the phone, and how to play them on the phone.
I browse my movie files on Astro file manager or the stock Gallery app. NemoPlayer browses music nicely too. However, a dedicated movie player would be nice.
I also noticed that it doesn't play all of my videos. It's probably because of the resolution.
I use the paid for version of Act1. The program from what i see only plays video. The program tells you what time it is ie. real time. it also tells you how much battery power you have left as well. When you open the program it tells you what files on the phone/SD card that can be played. What i do is make sure the video file i have is already in HD most of the time 720p or 1080p. I use WinX Video Converter to convert the file to MP4. I set the res to 800x480. The video file plays with no skipping and no problems. The picture also looks really nice as well. If i had to answer your problem about it not playing the file i would say that is before the file is not support by the N1. I believe just MP4 and H.264 are the only supported files. It plays the same thing a Iphone can play and a Itouch pretty much.
Is there anyway to play files other than mp4. Such as wmv?
Someone knows how you can watch a full screen video in the stock video player without the black bands?
Other phones (HTC Hero for example) have a button on the player to resize the video.
Thx

The default player won't do it. Act1 has a full screen option and it's a great app, as the previous poster detailed.
Thx! good player

Act1 video player has a full screen option... don't think you can actually zoom in on a video in stock media player.
is there a way to use that video player as the default player for videos?
If I recall, associate your video files to the HTC_VideoPlayer.exe
How would i go about that

yes, how would you do this? I prefer the HTC Video player over the 3rd party solutions but I can't find a good gui to access the videos aside from the ugly File Explorer
Total Commander perhaps?
The pictures and videos tab
Go to the pictures and videos tab.
Go to albums lower left.
Go to albums again on lower left and this wilol bring up a list of all of your pics and videos on both device and storage card.
Click the one you wish to play and from there it will use the HTC player by default.
Ugly route, but it works.
