Hi Guys,
Can anyone tell me where are the songs stored after I made them available offline? I searched my downloads and they are not in the folder. Thank you.
They are cached in something like data/com.google.music
They format that they are download its not readable by 3rd party music apps but you can use Cloud Music Sniper to turn them in to a readable format

Hi guys as the title states I have google music and I uploaded quite alot music from my laptop but when I looked under setting - applications - manage apps I notice that the google music app is 2.2 gb big? If I undestand correctly the purpose of the app is to stream my music collection right? Nothing should be stored locally unless its pinned. So maybe there's something I can change in google music? Because its not worth having the app if it takes that much space. Thanks in advance.
There's a setting in the app to cache and download music. You can try un checking those

thanks I found it my settings had it so that it was cacheing music for offline.
Hi Guys,
I have searched the forum for possible answers to my problem, but couldn't find any satisfing answer.
I have uploaded all my music to Google Music, but as I only have 1GB of mobile data in my plan, and no WiFi at work, I decided to save some of my albums on my internal storage, so I can play it offline.
There is an option called "Choose on device music" which when you choose it, saves the files to make them available offline, but the problem is I can't find it anywhere on my device.
I have found possible locations in Android/data/com.google.android.music/cache - this is what google search gave me, but there is nothing in that folder. I have used the ES File Explorer with root roghts, as I thought, maybe its hidden somehow, but the result was exactly the same.
Could anyone pleas help me and tell me where the music stored from Google Music is located? And how does it exactly work? Does it simply download all the files you choose to your storage?
My temporary solution was just simply copying the music from my laptop using the USB cable.
Thanks in advance.
When you pin it to your device you play it right from the Google play music app. There is an option for on device music only in the settings menu, use this when you want to see your downloaded music.

Yes,I know that, but my problem is, I'd I make it available offline then I need to wait for it to download and I'm wondering what it's the location of the downloaded files, because the one that I mentioned in the OP doesn't seem to be right.I'm also suffering it's the music made available offline takes as much since on the device as the same music chipped straight from my pc.

What exactly are you wanting to do? I guess I don't understand why you need to know where its stored. I'm not trying to be a wise guy.

I would like to remove it when not needed anymore and also other music players can't find those stored albums.

Hi all. Whenever I download a picture or a file, I can view it in from the downloads app, but it does not show up in the gallery, at all. Also I have a music app that allows me to save songs on the phone, and it saves them, but they can not be found anywhere, not on phone storage, not on SD. This all started after I installed an external Sd card. What can be the reason?

use a media scan app
And as for your music files, try using PowerAmp, it's a great music player that finds your music by scanning your entire device.

And the best thing with it is that you can set it to scan just the folder you put your music in, so you don't have to listen to ringtones when playing random playlists
Poweramp is the #1 player for me!
Hello!
I'm using Google Play Music. Is there any way to save the files and use them in the stock player? I use the S View cover and would like to use the music widget on there but it only works with stock. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Do you have the files in a music format stored on your PC/available somewhere? I would recommend to create a Music folder on the root of your SD Card and play /shuffle from there is what I do, yet I use beat music player.

Thanks for the suggestion. That option is available, but I'm trying to manage it all from my device, so I can "pin" or make songs available offline, but play them in the stock player because I want to utilize that widget on the S-View case.
Thanks!
Simple I know!
I have all my music stored on a micro SD card. This used to play fine on my old HTC M8.
However, now I cannlt seem to find an app or similar to enable me to get to my music on the SD card. I like to be independant of 'The Cloud' or third party storage. Consequently, can anybody help me out whereby I can just listen to MY music?
Take it simple, 'cause you may lose me!!!
Use google play music, it is in the all application list.

Thanks, but it doesn't pick up my music from the SD card. Hence why I'm asking.
Hııım, weird. On the left menu settings- click on music library and all songs appears in the list. Mine shows all the mp3s. Maybe you need to reformat sd card

Ah, now that may be something. Checked some of the extensions on music files and they are showing .wma, not .mp3. Does that mean I have to edit all my files so they read as .mp3 or is there a magic way of updating them all?

Try Htc music, you can download it in apkmirror or search in this forum.
