How do you turn left off the instant search in the app? It locks up my device while it tries to update the search. So annoying.

I've turned off contact syncing and also set up a customised view which has the groups unticked but they still show up in the groups tab of the people app, how can I remove them or is it now possible?

I went to application manager and I have to manually sync my account to get updates. I haven't received emails on time. Can anybody help?
I went to the actual Gmail app and it said automatic sync is turned off somewhere

Looks like our phone won't show weather animation because if the sync is turned off.
I dont know why. I have set the location and don't use locations service, but can't figure out why it needs sync to be on.
Is there a work around to enable animation with sync off??

seriously, i want this too!!
with auto sync on, phone literally eats battery, as i have tones of social media apps, facebook, line, fring,nimbuz and so on..
i have tried manually turning their sync off, and turning on the auto sync option
works like a charm

So I have spent hours looking and can't find anything... I hate the Samsung calander and have switched to the Google cal I was able to stop the calander sync and notifications but is there any way to remove the app icon for the stock calander? I'm non rooted stock (can't root due to AT&T next) but yea is there anyway to disable samsung calander? Or hide the app?

There is no way to hide or disable it.
The only thing you can do is to disable the notifications.
