[Q] lock homescreen layout NOT Orientation

Good day,
Is there a way to lock the layout and remove some of the pages? I only use 1 page and do not want the icons to change on my homescreen. but when I search all I can seem to find is the damn lock orientations junk that is over talked about on the web. Can someone tell me if that is coming to the nexus 7? is there a setting somewhere that I am missing? Or, do I have to install a different homescreen app?

[Q] Google now: Swipe from right in landscape

Dear all,
In landscape mode, the home button in on the right. When I try to swipe from right for any thing (to use feature as switch tabs in Chrome), instead of the expected result, Google now is launched. How to cope with this? There are some threads for disabling google now but they wont work (disabling google now does not override the swipe to launch google). I am using Nova launcher, but I guess this is also the behavior of stock launcher. Thanks!

Try using a different launcher, I used Nova for awhile but found that it was just a little unfinished and ran into a lot of complications like this. Try switching to APEX launcher its alot cleaner and if you spend some time getting everything set up it can really maximize efficiency.

Thanks, but I'm not inclined to using Apex, Nova can provide me quite similar looks (with enhanced features off course) as stock launcher, and that's what I want.

Are you using a custom Rom? Maybe something like paranoidandroid with extended desktop pie control would help decrease this problem?

Replace buttons with gestures?

I apologise if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Does anybody know how to use gestures to navigate, for instance swiping up from the bottom to go home like on Ubuntu? I use expanded desktop mode on CM10, but it feels a little clumsy having to swipe up every time I want to use a button.

I haven't tried it myself, but I think GMD Gesture Control is pretty popular:

Search for gmd gesturecontrol or lmt launcher. Both work fine.
I use gmd and love it.

LMT Launcher Question

I feel like this is possible but when I look it up I don't really get an answer, can I make it so whenever I activate expand desktop it is the only time LMT launcher will be used? I don't want it when I have the nav keys up but when I do expand fullscreen in games and stuff I want it to be activated automatically, is this possible?

cm 10.2 nightlies enables you to run pie controls when expandable desktop is enabled that's far as i know the only way

[Q] DIsappearing widgets with new Google Launcher on Nexus 7

I have installed the Google Launcher (from Nexus 5) on my Nexus 4, 7 and 10. It seems to work fine on my Nexus 4 (though it clearly not optimised for it, not surprised of course) but I'm finding most of my widgets and some icons have disappeared on my Nexus 7. I spent quite a while setting up quite a few home pages but since then a lot of the pages have completely disappeared and some icons have gone. Also, I'm trying to drag Google Play to the bottom icon line but disappears as soon as move away from the home page and back again. Folders appear OK though.
Anyone else experiencing this? I'm wondering if there is a newer version of the launcher? I can't find anything other than the one originally released.
I'll return to the original launcher on my Nexus 7.
