Which browser is the best - Galaxy S III General (US Carriers)

For the s3? I usually just stuck with the stock browser for my previous android phones, but I can't stand the galaxy s3 browser. A lot of pages take forever to load even though my connection is fast and some images overall for me are kinda glitchy when they load.

I use Chrome personally. The only drawback is that there is no support for Flash. Other than that it's a great browser.

Stock browser is fastest on mine. Tried stock, chrome, and firefox

Opera Mobile

I'll try chrome and see how it is. Thanks for the inputs!

Dolphin is by far the fastest, but it's not usable. Double tap to zoom, zooms in from the left regardless of where on the page you target. Text reflow isn't great either. When you do zoom in on text it also sometimes cuts off a letter or two at the right edge. If they fixed these zoom issues it'd be very good. Has some other very good features as well.
Since Chrome is the next fastest I use that mainly, but certain flash sites like justin.tv require a browser that supports flash (any other one).

that sums it up pretty well.

Opera Mobile. Opera Mobile. Opera Mobile. Opera Mobile. Opera Mobile. Opera Mobile. Opera Mobile. OPERA MOBILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've tried them all over the years. There is nothing like Chrome, especially if you use it as your main browser on all your other devices/computers. The tab syncing is ridiculously convenient, and you can have all your bookmarks in one place. It's also a fantastic tabbed browser.

The fact that Chrome doesn't support flash almost means it is doing you a favor!
The synching and info sharing between them is pretty awesome. I do like the a wiping between tabs as well.

Chrome or Dolphin HD, I find them both very quick.

I have used Chrome and love it. Don't have any issues or anything ever. I love how it syncs with all my other Chrome sessions on different devices.

+1 for Chrome.
Definitely the best IMO. As far as fluidity and functionality I like it the best. Honestly not having flash is a plus for me because it doesn't get bogged down trying to load up all the flash ads.

Netscape.
Nah, just playing. Been using dolphin because I've never found a reason not to. Checked out chrome in the play store but didn't download it after reading through some of the reviews. Maybe I'll have to check it out again though, seems like some of you are pretty big fans.

I'm really liking chrome on my s3 and n7.

ICS Browser +. Thumb controls, Syncing, Flash, Text Reflow, and fast. Way better than Chrome or Dolphin.

I say use whatever browser you use on your computer. If you use Chrome, use chrome. If you use Firefox, use Firefox. if you use Opera, use Opera. If you use Internet Explorer, kill yourself or get another browser.
Basically, Chrome, Firefox and Opera mobile are all fantastic browsers for the phone, each has their upsides and downsides but they all can sync bookmarks, tabs, searches, etc with their desktop counterparts. So use whatever you use on your computer-I like both chrome and firefox on my phone but mostly use chrome because it has a great UI and runs really well.

Best Mobile Web Browser?

Lacedaemon here! According to all you HTC Evo 4G owners, what is the best mobile web browser? Post your opinions in the thread and in the poll!
I actually still use the stock browser. The only other one that I used and liked was DolphinHD. Firefox was always buggy for me.

Agreed, even though I use Firefox on my desktop, the mobile version loads pages inefficiently...
Does Dolphin still suck? It used to be good, then recent updates slowed it down horribly - constant force closing, horrendous download speeds even though other browsers downloaded fine. I had used it forever but gave up on it.
I don't think I was the only one with those issues. It happened after a full wipe/fresh flash and downloading from the market instead of restoring. I didn't use any add-ons either.

I've used many, and Miren is my clear favorite.
Dolphin HD is too big, slow, and bloated.
Firefox just plain sucks.
Opera and Skyfire are OK.
Miren is laid out just how I like it and it works smooth as silk. Comes with a nice news and bookmark widget too.
I Prefer stock evo browser only problems I get sometimes when download large files. I keep mozilia install to download files. All other broswer like dolphin, etc. Doesn't work for me.

Good choice, culua. Don't forget to vote your pick in the poll!
Maxthon, ftw!
I tried using stock browser for about 3 minutes until I realized it was horrible. Dolphin HD all the way....
Dolphin HD is the best browser hands down, has flash support, very light and the tabed browsing is great, speed dail home page and and it loads up instantly to get you where want fast cause lets be honest when you use a mobile browser most people only use it for like 3 minutes at a time so no one wants to wait 5 minutes for the browser itself to load up
Stock works fine and open source. =P

Boat Mini Browser
I voted for Opera.
I've only tried Firefox and the stock browser before, though. I like Opera because the interface is fairly clean, although I think the buttons could be smaller (but other people would probably hate small buttons). I think it's nice as it has tabs, but it isn't on the screen all the time. The largest reason I wanted to use Opera was because of its ability to act as a Desktop browser, though. I don't have a limited data plan or anything so it doesn't affect me.
My biggest problem with Opera is that some things don't act right, particularly with Facebook. I wouldn't use the Facebook app at all if it did work the way I want. Message windows go off the screen and it's impossible to hit the send button without zooming out all the way and hitting the button precisely, etc. Other than that, I don't think I have any real issues with it.
Firefox had issues with format (way more than just Facebook), I didn't like how it handled tabs, and even though it was nice to be able to sync with my desktop, it wasn't enough. I love Firefox on my desktop though!
I'm going to try Dolphin since people here seem to like it, but judging from images, it seems kind of bloated.
I've been using xscope.
I used to use miren but for some reason it started getting a little laggy feeling. Xscope is freaking fast and snappy
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I say Xscope and then Miren

Any other browser instead of Chrome?

Well, Chrome lags. Dont know if its a hardware fault (i seriously doubt it) or just the browser's fault, but it just lags. Even the default browser on my HTC Sensation feels a lot more smoother.
Is there any other good browser which doesnt lags?
I believe Dolphin browser is a popular alternative.
Firefox, Opera, Opera Mini
You can't go wrong with the major ones
But Dolphin is also good.
Quite a few, all up to you

I was a Dolphin user for a couple of years. It's a good browser, and recently I switched to Firefox. A few months ago Firefox was quite terrible bit it has really matured a lot.

I've been using Boat Browser along side Chrome - its nice and quick. Not sure why I haven't made it my default browser yet LOL. I do agree that Chrome is significantly slower than most third party replacements.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I am using Boat Browser. It supports flash and has nice themes.
I use smooth Rom which upon install with aroma asks what browser you want to install. I chose the stock android browser because I chrome is pretty laggy and it works a charm xD. You don't get all the functionality of chrome, but it adds up to be a much more pleasant experience.

I highly recommend dolphin
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda app-developers app
Most important to me in a browser is text reflow.
I don't get that on my note with dolphin so i use Opera mobile & Maxthon mobile (by far the fastest browser I've ever found) both give Reflow on my note.
*Maxthon is a good simple browser with some well thought out settings options & one touch full screen button.
Dolphin is trying to be everything while neglecting its basic purpose in my opinion.

[Q] Which Browser Do You Use?

The stock android browser(aosp), tried all the other ones didn't really like any of them.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I use dolphin because it's the most consistent from a performance standpoint, it has the smoothest scrolling, and it supports extensions. Chrome is too choppy, although the latest betas have been getting better.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
The stock Android browser is my go to browser.
1) High performance (smoother and faster than Chrome and most other browsers)
2) Minimal UI (Blends in well with the rest of the GUI)
3) Flash support (Flash might be dying but it's still widely used)
4) Not clunky (Dolphin and Maxathon and some others seem kind of "clunky" to use)
Dolphin & Dolphin Mini for me. DM still has flash support, and has all the smoothness.
Sent from my pink Dell.
Chrome 95% of the time. Firefox if I need to view a flash site.
Chrome usually.
I side-loaded the AOSP (vanilla android) Browser though, as it does text reflow quite nicely, and will sort of play nice with the Adobe flash player. (It freezes up quite often though in the latter case).
If I am going to read a lot of text from a web site, I will use the AOSP browser because of text reflow. That's something that's important to older folks; I suppose Google thinks that nobody over 50 buys smartphones.
I wish the bookmarks in Chrome appeared visually like the way they do in the stock browser - using the website .ico files is a joke.

boat browser
fast,support flash,night mode(u have to try)
Funnily enough I spent the whole weekend download many browser on Android testing the best.
I always used Chrome, but got bored of the lagging/crashing and general poor performance.
Out of ALL the browser I tried, and there were a few, I found 2 that were exceptional !!
The best I found, by far... which also made me switch my desktop browser from Chrome was: Maxathon
So many good features, such as Private browser, Night Mode, Flash working from the Get-go, Good tab arrangement and Gesture controls.
IF that doesn't tickle your fancy, try Puffin.
Not as good as Maxthon, but by far alot better than FireFox and Chrome.
Chrome.

Dolphin, with the new plugin for desktop browsers. So i now have all my bookmarks from Firefox, kan push a page to the tablet.

Boat Browser for me. I use to use Dolphin Browser but I felt it got to cluttered and laggy for my taste. There are to many things that Dolphin has that aren't exactly related to browsing. Some may like it and some may not. It's just not for me anymore and boat browser appears to me that the main focus is still on web browsing!

[Q] which web browser will you use on s4?

Which browser are you guys planning on using on the s4?
Features that some would like to have: adblock, lastpass/xpass, flash
According to this tom's hardware article, they favor Dolphin, but it has atrocious startup times. They seem to indicate there is no hardware acceleration support is limited, it remains to be seen how the stock browser in s4 will perform.
Probably Firefox, just because I find all the extensions I can put on it to be indispensable. It'll probably run slower than stock, but as long as I have a decent connection, the phone hardware should keep pace.
stock
stock/chrome for me probably, give all the main ones a go though
Chrome. Always chrome for me.

Firefox Beta, no question. It's beefier than others, but I use Firefox on my desktop and I love having the bookmarks, add-ons and skins synced.
FireFox has consistently gotten better.
i wonder if the stock browser has hardware acceleration.Surely the GS3, folks have a fav.
Opera.
For testing the gestures, I will try stock but I know ita sucks so I will move back to maxthon, my all time fav.

Stock with quick gesture is awesome on my Note 2, no reason to choose others except Opera Mini (less data usage and VPN for websites blocked in my country)
I use Chrome for its very nice bookmark widget only.
Always chrome for me also. Can sync with my desktop Chrome bookmarks!
Can someone who currently owns the GS4 tell me if it is still possible to use flash with one of the browsers listed above? I've read in other forums that an older version of flash can be installed using Firefox? Flash is an important factor to me in terms of usability.
I wan to use Safari Lol.... Great Combination or Clash of the Titand

mufaddalezzi: you don't need to worry about websites yet, I have yet to hear about a virus entering an Android phone through an infected page/ad.
and for apps you should now have bouncer installed(part of the Google services framework, shows as "verify and install") which works with any browser.
I use opera mobile classic for now, until opera fixes all the crashes, oops cats, and slow animations in opera 15.
Chrome. And Firefox! Chrome because it look pretty much like pc version. And firefox because of flash support for my XTZ
Well I used lookout, mcafee and kaspersky and all detected some pages with malware and viruses and this happend in only on stock browser..I even tried to test same malware/virus page on other browsers and non of them were able to detect anything..so just thought playing safer side

uc browser hd, opera mobile classic and stock samsung browser
My 2 cents on all browsers on the market now.
Next browser : Their swype gestures and in UI in general is a pleasure to use, highly unstable though and seems like an unfinished product, until stability reaches a good level i can't recommend it
Chrome : The laggiest piece of crap in the market, can't recommend it at all
Chrome beta : much smoother but falls short in comparison with other browsers
Stock browser : The smoothest of the bunch, yet has the worst way to go from a tab to another, just feels dated
Opera : Didn't have a long experience with it, but it wasn't as fast or as smooth as opera so its just okay to me
Dolphin : Really smooth and really fast and has the best way to change tabs which is just natural and normal, my favorite choice, has support for flash, the problem with it that it forces you to watch links inside it instead of opening separated apps for the links, yet i can bear with that in return for the smoothness and the convenient tab switching
Dolphin because I can use Lastpass with it and Chrome because it syncs with my laptop and tab
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
Isn't Dolphin browser beta slow nowadays? i have had several problems like freezing pages and pages already loaded but the picture doesn't seem to appear.

Boat Browser opens big sites faster than any of 'em. Do your own testing, I have. You'll see. Turns Dolphin into a tortoise.
The new 'Next' browser...in beta, might beat em all tho.
