[MOD]CM7 MMS.apk 160chars,better emoticons and enter/smiley on keyboard - Desire Themes and Apps

Here's a mod for the Mms.apk, extracted from CM7 Rom.
The biggest feature, and the reason I modded this, is to get 160 characters capacity per SMS for non-English languages, and not 60-70, with extra costs for lengthy messages.
Languages that should get 160 characters capacity:
↳ Greek
↳ Czech
↳ Spanish
↳ French
↳ Polish
↳ Portuguese
↳ Slovak
Thanks theos0o for 160 chars mod src/smali.

I got 2 versions for you.One has smiley on keyboard and the other new line support instead.
How to install:
Use ES Explorer (or any other root file manager) and copy/paste Mms.apk to /system/app
Reboot your phone
PS. Dont forget to rename the attachments to Mms.apk
If Mms.apk get any official cm7 update i will update this threat too

modify another mms.apk
You have done a very good job mate! I just want to ask for a little help, as I want to modify a themed cm7 mms.apk that I have , in order to have 160 characters length for greek chars. I decompiled the apk, however I'm new to modding and don't know where to look at. Thanks in advance

Very good work! Thanks man. Much better using stock app than 3rd party apps. Its much more lighter and quicker

This is easily corrected by opening and editing Skin.ini there line:
IncompatibleLanguages = <list of languages>
to remove from this list, your language and then the keyboard will not generate an error. But, perhaps, will have to adjust a little skin to achieve normal operation with a specific language. I apologize for nekroposting, but can someone be useful now.

Very nice site design;
interesting screenshots, especially gestures launcher.
will try it.
any feedback about the program?
okay the google translation tells me only sh..
so i installed it but dont understand what this is and what to do. the "gstroke" is the only readable word in this russion app. so is any russian here that speaks a word english and can please write something about it ?
For those of us that don't speak russian, and don't have access to online translators because they're blocked on our work's network, could we get a description?
Without English version and description there wouldn't be any success for this application - which is, I must say, awesome.
Except in Russia maybe.
it's a launcher, a screen-blocker like s2u2 and a contact-manager in one app. this app has a great future, i think

Is there any en-en dictionary available for topaz?

Hi guys,I just need such a dictionary in cab format
Can any1 give a direct link?Much appreciate!
any1 plz help me....thx
I've use Cellosoft's PocketDict v1.2 for many years. It works fine on the Topaz and comes with both Encarta and Webster's dictionaries. It's great having the two - Encarta is up to date but not that comprehensive, Websters is 100 years old and has long definitions - it's interesting to see how the meaning of some words has changed over the years.
I tried to find out if anyone "owns" this program, but it seems completely free. If it turns out not to be, I'll remove it pronto...
I uploaded the whole lot in a zip file for all you dictionary addicts

Roboto font 'fi' ligature removal

Hey,
Apologies if I make you unable to unsee what I am about to show you:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When I noticed this, it really bugged me: specifically how the dot of the 'i' is joined to the top of the 'f'. What was more annoying is that if the text was bold, ligature was removed.
I set out to root my phone and change the system font to something better. However, do not be fooled like me! Changing the system font is not an easy decision and even if you do change it, for some reason the lockscreen's time colon gets replaced by a square character. Link to lockscreen colon character issue screenshot
In the end, I edited the roboto-regular font using FontForge for mac and removed the 'fi' ligature. Then using a rooted file explorer, I just replaced the originally with the updated one.
It initially crashes the phone, but upon restart: you can now rejoice in writing all those 'fi' words.
Please see my github for a README and the modified roboto-regular.ttf.
Cheers!

I had also removed 'fl', 'ffi', 'ffl' glyph's too.
Actually, that's a ffi ligature, not a fi one.

Ah! So true! I totally forgot I removed the similar ones too. Thanks. I have edited the post above and github to reflect the other glyphs removed. ('fi', 'fl', 'ffi', 'ffl')
