Kernel Recommendations

Hello!
I recently rooted my Note and I've noticed there's a huge choice of kernels out there & I'm unsure which one to go with. So I'm wondering what you'd recommend..

I use speed mod....but as far as I have seen...goku kernel is really good....

And for someone like me who is running stock ics. What is the best kernel

Abyss note or Goku ....

I'm running stock too, so I may have to try some of these out.

Yes...abyss if GB and Goku if ICS....sorry for shortening it...

i use Goku Kernel with GoA Rom, perfect match..
Goku kernel is based on speed mod's kernel with more tweaks in it..

Thanks for all of your recommendations! Does anyone know how to flash the Goku Kernel without the use of Mobile Odin?

Choosing a rom really depends on your opinion.....for me the top three are repencis 3.5, chobits digitalis and creed 3.5....

Repencis 3.5 With A2SD through Better Terminal Pro (NOT A2SD GUI Since it will cause you to only be able to boot from CWM and if it reboots it will get stuck on a black screen on startup!)

me too i have developed my SGY to vaporize anyone using gamma rays
we are so in sync...

so far,repencis 3.5 for me..but im trying other roms,,

best rom:
repencis and creed
stable rom:
repencis, chobits, creed
IMHO

Repencis roms Come with pre installed titanium backup. I'm not able to un install it or update it.
It starts to force close and I get out of the rom I few hours.
But when ' best rom' kind of thread comes up, Repencis is the answer I see most.
What do you guys do for titanium backup?

Download latest tbackup replace it via system replacer

Too much does not work, you should rephrase it to what works
For working we have
1. It boots
2. We have signal and data network
3. It has sound
4. It has crt off effect
5. It can call and text

for me Next2ICS v2.0 rom is most stable for galaxy y . While i was using repencis rom i had titanium backup force close issues

I bought Galaxy Y and unfortunately there are little but noticeable lags with the stock rom. I’ve read the threads and stopped on two kernels savieSGY and MerrukTechnology. Please, recommend me which one is better /stable, rock solid and smoother/, because I can’t test it as it is used by my mother. Finally is it worth it to change from stock kernel to custom one?

try merruk 2.0 its stable but you can also wait for the later version that will be released pretty soon.
yes its WORTH IT! from memory to battery performance improvements :good:

maybe you can try build a kernel with moms features included,,, like : feature ; automatic wake up,,automatic charge,, automatic cleaning system cache,,,,automatic turn on/off,, and the urgent if a kernel is angry,,, moms moms momss

Problem

on first time of overclocking i have successfully overclocked my galaxy y .
After some i have stuck in bootloop while installing Rom so i have installed stock Rom using odn.now i can't overclock my mobile i have receive a error installation abroded (i used same files and same method )
Say for my bad English there is any one to help me to overclock my mobile

Overclocking doesnt depend on the rom at all.It depends on which kernel u r using.get a kernel which supports overclocking and it should work.

[HELP] WiFi Not Working After Custom Kernel

Hi! Guys many of may have faced the problem of wifi.....
I Installed Hells_lock kernel = hells fusion #50 and I am getting wifi problem after installing stock rom too....
pls.... help me tried every methology to fix (by kurotsugi)

go to dev section,search for wifi driver by whitexp.
you flash hells_fusion,why don't u search first in respective thread?

are you mounting everything before install? cuz I fixed all wifi bugs in #50

He might have switched from a kernel using whites modded dhd.ko that means wifi will only work on whites kernel
But buddy helps here .....just extract dhd.ko from a stock rom its there in system/lib/modules ..... Correct me if im wrong...i dont remember....it should be there...or download it from the thread flash or replace and VOILA problem solved.....

I have tried everything but getting prob.... even wifi driver and all other fixes.... 3G also not working
Using Stock kernel also not working and have formatted everything in cwm and reinstalled stock firmware help....

I was using stock kernel on evo x3 rom now i am on jellyblast 3.5 with kuro kernel.....
Hey! Buddy I am on my other Galaxy Y it is working super fine with your hell fusion kernel with creed rom 3.5.....

uou can do ythe following-
1-extract dhd.ko from the stock rom and place it in system/lib/modules
2-reflash rom

Got My Galaxy Y back with WiFi Working......

How??

Wow....
I told them that my was not working since a week I saw they flashed stock rom (it could be DDLA3) now updated DDLK1.....
They told me it was a minor issue and not a driver problem bcoz i thought be4 I alsi had a hard brick on it......
