I recently in box to my nexus 7 and I was surprisingly disappointed that it did not have flash player. I did some research online and found out that jelly bean does not support flash player. I currently have rooted my nexus and am running supersu. Has anybody experimented with it or got it to work. I tried to run a flash player apk and it did not work in dolphin browser Is there a ROM or something to fix it?
It works fine. Do a search for one of the apks people have posted (there are plenty of threads) and side load it. Make sure to enable Unknown Sources in settings Security first. I am using 11.1.115.11

Ive had the N7 since IO... the truth is flash does not work "fine" but it "works" The main issue are the browsers that are popular are all very buggy. Dolphin is your best bet but the best one at running flash is Boat. HOWEVER Boat force closes on jellybean a TON so yea thats not useful. Dolphin pinch to zoom is broken, you cannot maximize a flash window because it is likely to lock dolphin into a state where it will not load pages.

Today, last Dolphin update. The pinch zoom is back, but flash is gone. Any solution to get both?
I don't care if flash is old, unsafe, unstable or resourc hog. Just need it. If any other browser can handle flash under JB it's OK, but Dolphin is my favorite. There must be a solution. For now, i reversed back to the previous version, with double tap as a compromise solution.
Help to get flash and JB, please. With Dolphin would be even better.

Yeah, I cant get it to work with my Bionic either on the ICS leaks.
Flash works perfectly if you side load the flash .apk then use a browser that supports it . (I use Aurora)

Thank you, this works. I'm using EOS JB rom on Motorolla Xoom, though. But it works anyway, thanks.:good:
Now if i only could get Dolphin Browser. + flash + pinch zoom working, that would be even better.
Meanwhile i'll be using the AOSP stock browser .

Thanks, it's pretty good and better than the 10.1.
Installs fine.
How do you test Flash? (what websites?)
I tested Youtube in 360p and a video on stern.de (I don't know the resolution). But I will test more videos.
Giant plus one on this! I used the flash that is over in the zoom forum and it works great! I've tried every different iteration / hack out there and have never had usabel flash, 10.2 FTW!

6 replies and only 2 thanks? Hmm...
lol j/k
I tested it as well and youtube was very watchable in HD. It was the mobile site, but I assume the same would be the case for the full site. I did have a problem with Dolphin HD freezing, but I think that was the browser itself, not having anything to do with Flash.
Has anyone tried this w an A43?
Jim
THANKS a lot !!
Just installed it, my browser crashes each time I try to view a flash video...
Edit: Just rebooted the 101, it seems to be much better
It's not installing for me, the whole tablet freezes... tried 3 times and had to keep the power button pressed for it to come back to life. Did you guys uninstall 10.1 first? I have a 101 on the latest fw release.
i have had installed flash 10.1 first and then 10.2 from here thanx again for that post

What browser are you using? I found that with the heavier browser like Dolphin HD, it was giving me problems. I tried Opera browser and didn't have much problems playing flash vids.
Thanks for this,
I have tested this on the app 'Tv Shows' and and the BBC iPlayer app, it seems much better than 10.1 so far and hasnt crashed of had any audio/video sync issues.

You running ICS on your phone?
Used it on OG Transformer with paulburton's ICS ROM. The browser is pretty smooth, and looks just like the pc chrome browser.
I don't have enough posts to link to the file, but it should be pretty easy to find the apk by now.
i tried it on Sensation
its pretty sweet
we need ICS for TF101 now!
Does Chrome for Android have all the same security and privacy issues that Chrome for desktop has?
If it does, i'm sticking with Opera.
Google and Adobe won't support flash for Chrome on Android
Which is either good or bad depending on you.
I use Flash for live video so I don't like this decision. It's a good option to have, you can always opt to not install it

I love Chrome browser . I've being waiting for this since... well since Android 1st came out
But i'm going to wait for the official ICS for the TF101 before i try it.
I just hope that is not a RAM devourer app
Works great on my Rezound with 4.0.1! This browser is sweet! I would totally dump the stock browser for this anyday, but I kinda wished they kept the darker gray theme rather than going back to light gray..
The tabs sharing with the desktop Chrome is F-ing Awesome! Like what Chrome2Phone should have been all along!
No Flash in Chrome for now. Adobe say they won't support it but hopefully Google will adapt it later.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/02/08/flash_chrome/
Where be the tab stack? Do we lose that, another Tablet sacrifice?
Fairly stable for me. The only crash I had was with something like 7-8 tabs open (all XDA Prime forums, plus a few chrome blogs, LOL! I like it. A LOT! And typically I am hard to please, especially where browsers are concerned. There are way to many Android browsers out there that are acceptable, but not outstanding. Each has their own little tweaks and claim to fame, but under the hood they are ridiculousy similar. Let's see, I have had on my Prime, at one point or another:
Stock. - Works well. So well it bores me, LOL
ICS+ - A nice set of enhancements. I use it more than the stock webkit browser
Dolphin and Dolphin HD - I like, don't love it. A bit TOO slick, and some things frustrate me. It will be better when the HD catches up to the small screen version, I think
Opera Mini and Opera Mobile - What can I say. 2 solid browsers here. Mobile is a keeper. [
boat browser - Not imopressed, other than speed, it was buggy. removed.
Skyfire - I LOVED this one on my phone in early releases it was amazing. When Skyfire decided t charge me to see flash, I decided to cut them lose. Too many alternatives. It's not THAT great.
Firefox - a HUGE let down, but everyone expected magic here. Didn't materialize.
Maxthon. Very cool new browser.Jury still out on this one.
That's right off the top of my head.
Anyone know how to make the tab "Stack" appear in chrome, or is that only in the phone version, because we have the real estate to see the tabs. If so I am disappointed. That was chromes one big trick pony, and I was excited to try it. So far I can't see the button in top left to enable them, just a new tab button. Anyone?

Just another reason Asus need to pull their finger out, and stop sitting on the ICS update.
Just wondering what the majority of you are using as your default browser. I've always used Dolphin hd but been getting a lot of force closes. Still use it though as I love all the addons.

I can't try it myself, it's unavailable here.
Chrome is good for me only to grab the websites i 've open on my computer, then copy paste the url in the STOCK browser...
I just hope one day get rid about this CPU eater FLASH!
just trying out opera now, I'm quite surprised. Last time I tried it images on sites wouldn't load for me and it kept opening mobile versions of sites. Granted it was at least 6 months ago that I tried it last but it seems to have improved a lot.
I may stick with it for a while until dolphin gets sorted for ics properly.

IMO, Chrome is x100 better. You should try it. Check out some of the THD games or CounterStrike Portable if doom isn't working for you. The incompatibilities will get ironed out as time goes on.

Flash causes Chrome to crash with Jelly Bean. It happened on all 3 devices of mine. Im sure its no coincidence. I can live without it though. More and more sites are moving to HTML5. Flash player has seen better days

I really want ICS+ Browser back. I side loaded flash and Dolphin works fine but its not as good a browser for me. I like Chrome better than both, but it's nice to have an option.
Remember when flash was supposed to be a giant plus for android? Ugh, they didn't call that one.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Let's face it, no matter how much business you can make with your Nexus 7, a tablet is designed mainly for entertainment. A bigger screen usually means that we get to enjoy certain medias on a bigger screen, aka videos. However not every streaming website can afford or even cares enough to have fancy apps like Youtube and if you stream live channels online for emergency sports on your work computer you would know that flash still plays a part in our daily life.
As Adobe quits on Flash on our future Androids to get everyone into the HTML5 stage, PC users will still have a fairly high amount of data for grabs through Flash but our tablets will be losing that whole side of information while the transition goes through. Although I don't, but I could imagine my girlfriend playing an online Flash game on my 7 but it won't happen anymore.
and... we lose one thing to show-off to the iOS users...
How is everyone else coping with the fading of Flash on our mobile devices?

pretty easy to get flash..
First install the AOSP browser:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780746
After that, I still had some newer flash content saying it needed the latest flash player, so installed the two flash players from this thread:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...189897-no-flash-got-you-down-try-fix.html#anb
Works perfectly now!
Yeah I was bummed out when I first read that on Adobes web site. Yeah eventually most sites will hopefully change or add support for our tablets and phones to compensate foir Adobe doing that however being that we have the lovely OS that we do there are very easy workarounds! I installed the AOSP browser @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780746 and flash @ https://www.dropbox.com/s/cgsd3gyy7v6c90j/com.adobe.flashplayer-1.apk This is great too because I prefer the AOSP browser (I love the full screen mode with quick controls). The bookmarks don't sync though.. So I just kept the Chrome Bookmarks widget on my homescreen and set the default browser as Browser. Works like a charm!
I despise flash so I don't miss it on my device, at least not for anything important. Bring on HTML5!
yea everyone despises flash. high CPU usage low performance. but it has been playing such a big part in the past 10 years or so that it might just be TOO sudden a change when not everyone has gone to HTML5 and officially taken out flash as a whole. This might hurt Android as it is a crucial time Post-Jobs for android to have a major counter attack on iOS and an obvious visible advantage has been taken out.
I sideloaded flash & firefox for iplayer but other than that I haven't missed, the sooner flash dies the better.
