Help me choose kernel - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi all,
Can you explain the different of kernels? (tytung, Dorimanx, fikret, seadersn, ...)
Which kernel is best for battery, performance, ...
I heard somewhere
Dorimanx kernel is best for performance.
seadersn kernel is best for battery.
tytung kernel is best for stable.
Is that right? I need your experience about these.
Thanks all.
PS: I use HTC HD2 both ICS & GB.

So, "what is the best rom" people now evolved into "what is the best kernel" people?
Kernels/ROMs are subjective, what works for me may not AND DOES NOT HAVE to work out for you. Try each and every Kernel, and settle for the one YOU like.

What ROM and Kernel best combo for stability ?

Recovery & ROM?

I just bought the Nexus 7 2nd generation and I'm digging it. I previously had an Acer Iconia a500 with ClockworkMod and thor's ROM. I hear there is a different more preferred recovery then CWM? and what's the best ROM & why? Asking for good suggestions. Thanks.
Can't say what is "best" since that is based on your expectations of a ROM.
That said, I love the ROM (CM + Kang's) from DJ Montanelli, and Carbon ROM. Both with ElementalX kernel.
Oh, yet another "tell me the best everything" thread... About recovery: I've seen two of them - TWRP and Clockwork. TWRP is a recovery that's definitely working good. I don't know anything about clockwork here and don't know why I should try it. Your question about the Best ROM is a kind of holy war. First learn what Nexus 7 you have - flo, deb or that one with 16gb storage. There's a lot of ROMs for flo, a little less for deb and I think that flo's roms are compatible with that one with 16 gb storage. So the choice is completely on you. Walk through the threads, read about bugs, features, look at the comments and decide if this exact ROM fits you. They differ by customization, speed, optimization, battery draining, having or not having Paranoid features. Also their base differs - Cyanogen, AOKP, both, AOSP. And all this affects the features available, kernels that can be used, what problems you'll have or not. So none of us can say "you flash only THIS ROM because it's the very-very-very best of all". Personally I stopped at PAC Rom. I like it's features, I can live with it's rare bugs, so that is my choice.

Is stock kernel the best?

I have amazing battery etc. just wondering if there is a better kernel overall?
This question is not easy to answer, it also depends on what rom you are using.. I have really good overall experience with dr87 kernels on stock roms. But i would recomend to flash and try.

[Q] Best Kernel For i9500 with cm11

Hi I have a cm11 nightly bc there are no snapshots, release candidates, stable versions. I want to try overclocking. My phone is very fast already. I just want to use more of its power. What kernel is best for the i9500 with cm11? If possible, suggest less buggy ones. I'm a noob when it comes to kernels sorry
These question are not allowed. There is no best kernel. Try it out for yourself what works the best for you.
Thread closed as its a Best Kernel thread.

You can try Phantom Kernel for Touchwiz MM ports, it does provide a good balance between battery life and performance. You can tune the kernel further to extend battery life or improve performance. Quite alot of governors included in it.
As for Lollipop ROMs, you can try to go to android development section, scroll till you see a thread which is named "Kernel Repack" or something that has the word repack in it. You can find the various kernels that the developer made for various roms. The kernels also does provide good battery savings without sacrificing performance so you can try to check them out. Hope I helped you out mate
