For all of cheesecakers, I made small web page to check the server's status and update time. It's a little slow because of pings, but still usefull(I hope). The script checks all of motorola servers (known to me).
Check it at http://www.motocheck.co.cc/
P.S As I said before it's easy to implement, but I'm suck at Android development :cyclops:

Ping server first to check if it's online and then check $server/blur-services-1.0/build.html to get the update time

Nice Vazay!
Sam, can you incorporate MotoWatcher?

BTW I lied. Re making this app from scratch might take me a few days.

Hi guys,
Just wondering - if the protocol of communicationg with blur server fully re-engineered? It is possible for now to write a daemon that will run on my server and query the blur servers and download updates if they become available?

If you have a deodexed rom, you could unpack blur-services.apk using apktool and analyze the files to check how it connects to moto's servers to check for the update. Then we could maybe come up with a solution to check for updates on the servers without having to wipe every single time in between checks.

Is it possible to write a linux based automated script for a pc that just spoofs the servers in to thinking an Atrix is making an update request? I don't know jack about programming, but I wouldn't think it should be that difficult. We already know the kind of info that is needed from build.prop.

It is possible, but I got no idea about how can I emulate blur request from pc

Doing it from pc was attempted before. It looks for more stuff than what we know. Don't try spoofing from pc. Never put your mac address out like that if you don't have too

So we shouldn't search from our home wifi?

I do. But I don't care about moto. And I'm sure they don't care about us either. Otherwise they would have shut down or secure this servers a long time ago. I just don't believe on offering them more aveneus to identify me. Is enough they know my phone was there. Plus re making the update process on pc is not worth it. Your phone can already do it.
Edit: as a dev I believe creating a pc update for blur is interesting as it offers a good place to begin learning more of how the rom and moto work. As a realist is really not worth the effort.
Edit2: not worth the effort for our goals.

[Q] Now we got the 2.1 update... sooo... What happened to the DLNA we where promised?

Well, what can I say?
I tried search, RTFM, Sony Ericsson forums and even Google.
Well what do ya know?... I didn't find a squat about how to use upnp/dlna on the Xperia x10 with the 2.1 update.
Anyone else who can point me in the right direction here?
Sony Ericsson where supposed to include DLNA support with this update afaik.
By the way: Manuals, FAQ and the forums haven't updated for the 2.1 version yet.
One can ask oneself, What the heck where they doing all this time? They obviously didn't update the manuals and FAQs anyway.
EDIT: Diving even further into the 2.1 update. It looks and behaves exactly like the vanilla Android 2.1, they just included the usual Moxier, Office, Quadropop, Mediascape and Timescape. What did take em so long doing this?

You didn't search at all, don't lie.
They announced in June (!) that DLNA would come in an update AFTER the update to 2.1.
I don't even have 2.1 and I can tell from screenshots that it doesn't look a think like vanilla Android, nor does it act like it either.
Also, the update went out on a Sunday, I doubt the people working at SE's website updating team were at their offices that day.

Look like and behaves like vanilla I didn't mean the skinning of the Android, The functions are still the very same, even if slightly skinned. Enough about that.
I read this and misunderstood it then:

Some examples of user benefits that will be included in the UXP upgrade for Xperia™ X10 in Q4 2010 are:

- Wireless home connectivity via DLNA
- Improvements to signature applications Timescape™ and Mediascape to make them even smarter and richer

Since we already got the OS to 2.1, HD video recording and the improves Scape apps, I assumed the DLNA where to be included aswell.
By the way, please don't come with a lie about me lying. I did my research, but must have misunderstood it.
There is a clear distinction between a lie and a misunderstanding, but that might not be in your case.

No worries, man. Others can be dicks here. I read the same thing as you. I've heard that it'd be separate updates before, after, as well as included in 2.1 from all the stupid idiots at SE.
Maybe you didn't know, they ve divided the update to 2 updates.
1 st update will give you HD Video Recording & Android 2.1
2 nd update will improve the Timescape & Mediascape also will support DLNA
They even mentionned those on the blog but too lazy to find wich post
Very well... I got the question answered.
The updates are still to come. Thanks!

Sorry, I guess I need to include a "" when I'm joking around. Don't take the internet so seriously.
DLNA is coming. When is anyone's guess, but will probably be a headline feature of the next major update. (By major, I don't mean a small revision to fix bugs that were a part of this update to 2.1).

apps dlna
there are apps on the market that enable dlna, since it can all be done in software. Simple search the market for dlna, i like the app called remotemedia
Use VLC Stream and Convert. The dev Traveldevel is amazing. He always replies to me with tons of help. My X10a can stream 1080p content from my computer, across my house and work flawlessly. It's so awesome.
He actually just recently emailed me to follow up with a challenge I first had. Amazing app and awesome developer. It's my single favorite app. It also works as a remote for VLC as well. Best app in the market, imho!!!!

Gingerbread soon?

First off, this isn't another 'I can haz gingerbread?' thread. This is something I've found and has me excited.
Also, I'm not telling you to download the app. Don't, its useless. The app just displays features of the Tab.
If you go to Samsung Apps, find an app called Retail Mode and look at the screenshots. 2 of them are in Korean/Chinese and *have* the GB battery icon and status bar icons.
This could mean its in testing or nearly ready for release!
Attached a screenshot of the app screens. Hopefully its clear enough to see.

Its just something for phone stores to demo features of the tab. Its not worthy of a download as its just for display purposes, but the screenshots of the app are what you need to look at Gingerbread battery icon and the grey GB notifications.

Looks like they are perparing for gingerbread update !
nice observation! i suspect they WILL release gingerbread, as they have already confirmed it for the SGS, and the SGS and thia viirtually have the scme internal specs
I am now downloading it , thank you for sharing
Granted, Gingerbread won't be what we want with spacemoose releasing the Honeycomb port soon, but at least it shows that Gingerbread is out there for us.
I'd rather know its there and not use it that think we've been abandoned.

I quite suspect the same they will roll out 2.2.1 thentowards end of axing support (typical samsung). Gingerbread will be released they want to focus on 10.1 & 8.9 models.
Well, I've been running the official 2.2.1 on my Hong Kong version Tab for about a week now and I have to admit it's running super smooth.
Especially with LaucherPro.
Having good hopes for Gingerbread but for now I'm a happy camper.

Ignore responses like this. Ganjdroid you should be ashamed of yourself.
Now this will be blunt. I personally believe that no one cares about Gingerbread anymore now that Honeycomb is out for other devices. All we want is Honeycomb.

Exactly.
If a official or fully working GB rom was to come out tomorrow I would flash it even though im waiting patiently for a HC flavor.
I'm hoping now that the HC rom has been released and kernel to follow that we get some more devs joining in, would be ace to have a stable HC rom, even if stuff liek camera didnt work at first I would still get it on and have as my daily.

Agreed. I would try GB if it comes today. I even tried stock 2.2.1 update wild in asia. I would wish for HC flavor as well but a stable build that is usable at basic level.
Also I might stick to Stock GB should I update to a bigger tab

I had an issue when testing this that on some fresh installs the 3d widgets were not showing up in my selection
all i had to do was go in with root explorer or another file browsing application and install them by hand (they still install to /system/app)

it was not made nor produced by anyone in bamf

What's your twitter handle? This thread + twitter support + irc = the help you need, I suspect. For irc, start on a freenode server and find channels in there. Find tbolt dev teams' channels and ask in there for more appropriate channels to get help in. And if you're still at a loss, create your own channel, post it on here, and ask on twitter for help in there.
That's what my next steps would be, if I were you. Best of luck - wish I had skills that were useful here - all I can do is type the above.

LOL No but you will be surprised as how many of these ESN-burnt in CDMA handsets got exported out to China, as they have a way to make their provider to modify the network to make these US-only handsets to work.
Of course, limit to 1x and if you are lucky, EvDO data only.
Oh also did I mentioned that someone in China has figured out by simply change a byte in the radio firmware, you can make the TBolt to ignore built in ESN and instead to read the SIM (more like RIM for CDMA) slot and register their phone on the CDMA network as they already doing in China?
Just FYI "HTC" also means "Sausage" in Chinese.
Tested via BootManager. Works fine. Home screen looks squished.

Pretty sure its a 3.0 port with a lang pack.

Running it now. Pretty good. It's pretty fast and close to stock. Installed Cypis' Perfect Rosie RC1 over it and all is smooth.
Wish it didn't have the screen on animation but it seems everyone uses it :/
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Oh yeah. The app drawer is not paginated and, like most ROMs, it causes apps to be cut off at the bottom of your list. If the OP would release a paginated app drawer patch that would be awesome.
Edit:
And just like that the screen on animation broke itself. Not complaining
Edit 2:
Experienced a couple of random reboots
Not sure if this is linked to Cypis' work or the ROM itself. Still running it as a daily driver though
Well after extended use I am seeing that I am getting random reboots. This will probably cause me to switch ROMs. Shame because I really liked this and it just seemed a bit better than the BAMF sense 3.0 ROM

Wonderful ROM
Thank you so much for your time and effort. This is by far my most used and favorite ROM. The only issue experienced has been two freezes fixed by removing my battery. Thanks again for the awesome post!
is RC7 ur final version or will you be updating to the new 2.10 gingerbread base? and if not, are the new CDMA and LTE radio updates compatible with the 2.01.605 base?

Thunderbolt can working on China CDMA Network with 1x/EVDO
there is 3 ways to using Verizon Phone in China
First , Modify Radio , like Tbolt, Change the ESN reading Order.
Second, Modify ESN IMSI and AKEY on Cellphone, like EVO 4G/EVO 3D
Third, Change the ESN on Telecom's Switchboard. Like IPHONE4 CDMA.
You know , the same thing China is more expensive than USA. they need pay for tax more than 60%.

Eventually it will be Boca, has parts of BOCA in it already.
But right now, I wanna fix everything before the second phase begins.
my BOCA roms are built to be extreemely customizable by the user

lol, I'm not much of a crack flasher these days, can only go through the ritual of setting everything up every couple of weeks...
Flashed it this morning, seems good so far, I couldn't get my paid apps to re-install via the market, but, that's known? Not the biggest fan of the new market anyways, will probably revert to the old version
Ended up restoring them via TB for the meantime...
Only other thing that I've noticed... it calls my phone a tablet

Found the link. Thanks anyway! (Anyone viewing on their phone, unckeck mobile view. You'll find it from there!
On a seperate note: I'm not having the paid market app problem!! Downloaded, wiped/all, and flashed, used ice and fire gapps (newer version than the one on my sdcard(for some reason it doesn't bring you to the "normal" gapps download screen. Goes straight to the homescreen after gmail sign-in. I downloaded gapps manually btw) after that, I tried downloaded weather and toggle Widgets, paid app, and it downloaded and installed fine. So, I decided to do more of my paid apps (TB donate version, rom manager pro, several games) and they all downloaded just fine!!! All in all, the only "bug" I found was the market wont let me download multiple apps at once. If you try and download multiple apps, it freezes and I have to cancel and download all of them individually!
Sorry for the wall-o-text, but those are my findings. Thought I'd share them with y'all. Hope this helps some of you!! Have a good one.
Thanks for the great rom bud!
I don't know why this rom isn't getting any love or why it was moved to general but anywho...great rom so far! Did a fresh install/wipe and I haven't had any problem with paid market apps at all Just wondering, do you recommend the kernel on your website instead of the included one?
