Flame if you want, but what actually needs to be done to port roms from att to tmobile? How deep does it get?

I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be possible to take the rooms and source from the UK version and use it on the att version? I know it will have different chips and chip sets. I'm just trying to get ideas to help me decide which one to get.

No you won't be able to put ROMs from int'l on att
So if you want the best possible dev community, go with int'l

yea. im pretty dam sure pewpewbanbang is correct.
Just look at the SGS2 and it's US counter phones on T-Mo, AT&T, and Sprint.
Look at the Note and AT&T's Note.
Hey all posting here and a bit new, so excuse me as I had some questions.
Now, I have done research on unlocked factory phones for S5 but wanted to clarify as I will not jump into a purchase yet. I am thinking about a factory unlocked phone for the S5 on ebay. But, as I understand, this runs on GSM internationally. I am thinking of bringing one to Verizon, but as I am aware they run on Cdma technology and I wouldn't be able to use a sim card. Also, is it true the Exynos version of the S5 doesn't actually have LTE yet? If so, it may be a deciding factor.
Also, my girlfriend wants to possibly bring one to Virgin Mobile but I didn't think that you could as they are also Cdma. Again, wasn't sure how this would apply to unlocked phones from the factory that weren't locked to any carrier. I would also check the frequency, but there is no point of the international version has no ability to utilize LTE which are pretty fast in my areas. Any insight is greatly appreciated and as mentioned, I tried up read up a lot, but still want to make sure I fully understand. Thanks!

as far as I know the GS5 is not dual radio, so it is GSM only, if you want to use it on CDMA, you probably have to buy from the carrier. But be warned, as of now there is no chance of bootloader unlocking and root on many carrier devices.
Exynos version has no LTE and has very little dev support.

Hey there and thanks for taking the time to reply. Yeah seems like the phones too fresh. I will think about that then and maybe give the phone more time. Meanwhile, seeing what my S3 could do for flexibility.
I'm quite in a predicament here, as I bought a galaxy s4, the SCH-R970 to be exact, and it turns out it's simcard locked to CDMA and i have t-mobile, which is a GSM network provider.
apparently the hardware is the same between the r970, and the i9500, but the simcard slot is actually locked by cricket.
My question is, if i flash an i9500 rom to my phone, will i be able to use a GSM network? what if i flash the i9500 modem to my r970?
If this type of stuff can work on other android phones where the CDMA and GSM phones share the same hardware, why can't it work on the s4s? www(dot) internauta37.altervista(dot) org/how-and-patch-fully-enable-gsm-verizon-cdma-phones-android
Even the HTC one has this type of support, but not as many people are developing things and focusing on the r970. I'm sure its possible, because ive heard people getting calls to work, but not messaging. if we can go that far, im sure we can do more.
I'm really desperate to find a fix for this, because i'm pretty deep into this phone. My last option is to sell it, but who'd want to buy a cricket locked phone
I heard all the carriers S7 are using the same hardware. Does this mean we can all share roms between sprint, att etc..?
It would be great as with all the different developers would make for a lot of choice
Hey XDA fam, i'm pretty new to rooting, never really needed to or wanted to on my phone but my previous projects are over and im looking for something new to do with my old note 4 instead of trading it in for pennies to my carrier.
so pretty much looking to find some cool things I can do or some suggestions maybe.

First thing..if you are on Sprint, as your profile lists..then you probably have a CDMA device, maybe a SM-N910P..?
Do research on your variant, is there Root and a custom recovery available for your variant.?
Sprint and Verizon lock thier devices (usually) and they use CDMA devices, which aren't as up to have as much development as the GSM variant, which is what most all other carriers use..AT&T, Cricket, T-Mobile just to name a few..I think Page Plus uses CDMA, sister company to Verizon, and whom ever is to Sprint..
After you determine the fact mentioned above, then would determine your next step(s)..
I don't know what "that Odin build" means..Odin3 is the PC software used to flash Samsung devices of firmware and other modifications..
