Every app is auto starting after it is installed

Kind of annoying... is there a setting to stop this? Or I may have got some malware?

I've never heard of this. After installing an app in the Play Store, it just opens by itself?
I'm not exactly sure what you mean either, but I find it an enlightening process to use something like Autostarts every now and then to keep an eye on new apps and widgets to see when they're triggering themselves.

Well, basically it's every app, no matter l install from play store or I side load an apk. It wasn't like this initially, but I cannot figure out what triggered this.

Be very very careful sideloading anything from unknown sources. Have you checked American Express' website? Legit apps from businesses will more often than not be posted on their websites.
I am interested in finding this out as well. I want to use apps like ESPN scorecenter, nfl 12, and Conan tablet app.

That works nicely, thanks. But what about apps for which I do not have a compatible device to source from? I assume I am sol unless someone else posts the apk?

NX Manager

I am new to all of this rooting and flashing stuff, and I am afraid to do this on my own. I don't really have a lot of money to replace my Nexus 7 if I screw up. Has anyone used this app? Does it work? Any suggestions?

I wouldn't use it. I would just search the forum and learn to do stuff on your own.

Fastboot is the best way to get it done. It will also help avoid problems in the future. Once you know fastboot, there is very little you cant fix with relative ease.

Advantages to rooting the Nexus 7?

I recently purchased the nexus 7 and I'm debating whether or not to root and ROM it. I want to know what the advantages are. The reason I'm asking is because I rooted and ROMed my phone because I didn't want to wait for updates from HTC. With the nexus the updates come straight from Google so that need flies out the window. Any replies are greatly appreciated.

Reasons for me:
1-xposed framework: ability to customize stock rom and enhance its abilities.
2-greenify: to hibernate battery eating apps when not using them like facobook.

Put it this way. There is no reason not to root it. You will find the advantages yourself.
