Splitting boot.img - Galaxy Tab 7.7 General

Hello guys! I want to split a boot.img to replace the ramdisk, but it doesn't seem to work with the ordinary tools and scripts all saying that "android magic was not found, giving up". I have read somewhere that samsung doesn't use the standard layout for the boot.img. Did anybody managed to split one? 'cause I have scoured the web and I couldn't find anything.

[Q] Create .IMG file

Can anyone throw the commands on how to create a .img file of the system and boot. Moto dosent see the need to post them for some reason so I was hoping there was an easy way to pull the info and create the files myself.

[Q] Is it possible to build a fake update.zip file

I am posting here since I have not posted enough to do so in the original post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077321
But would it be possible to create a Fake update.zip file, IF B&N is realy locking down the SD Boot option?
At the very least maybe there is a way to create an update.zip that install the needed files for ADB/ADB WiFi to work... Just a thought. I only dable a bit in coding myself or I would look into it, but this stuff is far beyond me.

[Q] Bootanimations too small....Help? (crossposted from /r/nexus7/)

SO yeah. I find bootanimations out there on the net, and while they work, they are too small. Someone somewhere said it's as simple as extracting the images from the zip, and resizing them, and changing the numbers in the text file.
However, that didn't work. Instead it got me stuck in a bootloop, until i found a flashable bootanimation (from recovery)
So there's two questions here.
1) Can anyone help me with resizing bootanims?
2) Can anyone help me with finding/making FLASHABLE bootanims?

Tool... Easiest way to unpack and pack a boot image

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073775
Found it on the forums here and thought id share it.. its basically drag and drop and it does the rest.. ive used it a few times and it pretty easy to use.. i dont recommend just unpacking the modifying then repacking youre boot image if youre unsure of anything. But if you ever been interested in looking at the ram disk and kernel then this would be great for you..

Edit system.img mtk chipset

I have a radio head with a mtk 8227l chipset. I have original firmware and have successfully flashed it. My issue is there system partition it's small and Google play keeps running out of space. It lists external as 12gb free. I have been able to modify the scatter file to try and make the system take more. I can see the effect of this as the external space is reduced by how much I increase system. However there must be something in the system.img file that sets the system partition size as it's still 1.6gb after flashing with edited scatter file.
Is there a way to extract this probably have to change the parameter setting it something and repack it for flashing?
So I've extracted the system.img, repacked as 5GB, changed the scatter to match. Flashed to head unit, but /internal is still 1.6gb. I'm obviosly missing something. Does anyone know MTK images and such that could point me in right direction?
MTK8227L
Hey I know this post is super old but I’ve searched EVERYWHERE endlessly and there’s little to know info on this specific model. But I just had a couple questions
1) what model head unit do you have. Mine is the GA2186K
2) how did you flash it.
3) were you able to root
4) do you know of any custom roms that can be used with it.
Thanks in advanced. I’m desperate for some info on this thing lol. And I’d love to get some sort of custom software on here.
Thanks bro, Skye
