Hi everyone, It's been a while since I picked up my fire. Everything was okay before the update I could get into the twarp thing and backed up the amazon OS thing. After the update, it starts up like a normal fire and I don't see the triangle. I can see the super user and borito thing and my lawncher still works. How can I get back to before the update? I'm thinking of going with Gede rom oh im still stock rom with root before the update.
just use KFU 0.9.6

Ok. So I'm an idiot. I just got my kindle fire today and I was using the Kindle Fire Utility v7. I went to install TWRP and then I accidently closed the window, I went to install it again, but it had partially downloaded TWRP (667 bytes or something) and instead of downloading it again it started installing it.
I am now stuck at a yellow triangle logo with "press power button for recovery" and ADB doesn't recognise it.
Can it be fixed or am I ****ed?
You need to put more obscenities in the title of your post most people only respond if you have 2 obscenities in the post title.
Does windows recognize it?
If so, does your computer make three sounds when you connect the kindle?

My computer recognises it but it's not installing drivers for it. The drivers were installed otherwise Kindle Fire Utility wouldn't work. Looking through the device info, its has the ID 0x18D1 which is one of the IDs I added to adb_usb.ini

Thank you for making me double check. android_winusb.inf did not have the device id for 18D1 so I changed it and I'm hopefully reinstalling the recovery now.
Might be a bit more pleasant if you change the title of your topic. You can edit it you know...

Haha no problem. If that doesn't work I know of another method you can try, I had an issue like that where I couldn't get out of the yellow triangle screen. Took me forever to find a fix, but, obviously I found one.

I have the same yellow triangle appear for 15-20 seconds everytime I boot. Is this normal for twrp? Or did I screw up? It boots normal after the 15 second wait period.

I believe that's normal, since I have the same issue.

It is normal....this is the time when you would press the power button to boot into recovery....if nothing is pressed it boots into the ROM.
Disclaimer: I'm really new with all this, so try to go easy on me
Yesterday night, after rooting with the of utility, I ended up stuck in fastboot for a few hours. I finally figured out how to get the Pc to recognize the kindle so I could manually reinstall the drivers, and I used the utility to get it to boot in normal mode.
My questions are:
1) I believe I am rooted but I'm not positive. I downloaded a root only app off amazon, some cache clearer. When I ran the app it asked for SU permissions. But the of utility says I haven no and root.
2) I take it that I didn't properly install.twrp after rooting last night, as that's how I ended up stuck in fastboot. When I power the kindle off and back on, I'm taken to the screen with.the fire logo and "press power for recovery" when I press power it doesn't do anything, and after 10 seconds or so, it boots up normally.
So my question is, how can I reinstall twrp properly? I really don't feel like.being stuck in fastboot again, though
Thanks!
You have to hold power until the light turns orange.
I used the Kindle Fire Utility to root my Kindle Fire, and then I installed TWRP on the device.
When I restart my device though, the yellow caution symbol doesn't display, meaning I can't access TWRP to install my room. Anyone have any solutions/explanations?
Did you turn it off, hit on, then tap the on button again?
Yes sir. It just boots like it normally would into the Kindle Fire UI.
If you are using the latest verison of KFU .0.9.2, it doesn't work. Try using the later versions like 0.9.1, it works on that one for sure.
I'll try that. Thanks for the suggestion shintokun. I'll let you know how it goes.
That did it! Thanks for the solution shintokun!
Disclaimer: Just in case something does happen to your kindle it isnt my fault, but I can help you but I am not responsible for none of it.. hope ya got the extended warranty like I did.
EXTRA: BTW I bricked my phone once and metropcs was suppose to void it but they didnt know what it was so 1+ for me...
Alright guys I am going to start this off from the middle of the rooting process, the adb part, you guys know how most of you have a emulator5554 pop up? Well I have did a ton of research and if you have BlueStacks or a simular application installed I suggest you uninstall it if you want to root your kindle, its what I did, also when I rooted my Kindle I flashed TWRP in, please do not flash TWRP until you get the go ahead around the forums because people have been reporting that they cant get into recovery so just use ClockWorkMod for now,
[Stuck in logo] Are you stuck on the "Kindle Fire" logo? [Stuck in logo]
Well if you got stuck in your kindle fire logo from using KFU you might be able to press 1 and get into bootmode and start your kindle in normal mode even if the Boot Status and ADB status says Offline and Unknown, and your kindle should boot right into normal mode and your saved .

You are a fricken life saver!
I installed KFU, but then decided to ensure that TWRP was up to date on the KF, but whilst it was upgrading the version it got stuck on the load screen. Also it was registering as offline in KFU.
Following your instructions (Boot mode -> Normal Mode) did the trick!

I just get < waiting for device > ... I assume this means I'm still going nowhere? Is there a simple way to get out of this mess?
Thank you
thank you very much :good::good:
I was scared because my kindle was stuck on the logo, but your trick did it !!
I would like to start off by saying that I am sorry for posting this, you must get tired of so many posts on bricked fire's. I would really love it if someone could help!My kindle fire has been bricked for about 5 days now and I can't find anything that will unbrick it, I've tried everything within my power (I even bought a factory cable). When i power it on, it is stuck at the stock Kindle Fire logo and my computer does not recognize it at all. This happened after i tried to re-root it through the Kindle Fire Utility. Like I mentioned before, I am sorry if this post is annoying but I would REEEAALLY appreciate if anyone could help!
Do you have twrp installed

Sounds like it is stuck in fastboot a factory cable and the correct drivers should let you change the boot mode

I think i did have the right drivers installed, i had the previous one installed (the guide that i used said that it would be fine). And i installed the drivers that came with the KFU
Not annoying per se, but it's in the wrong section.
What does your boot screen look like? The one that shows up as soon as you power on the KF, not when it starts loading a ROM after a few seconds.

As soon as I press the power button, it shows the stock kindle fire boot logo and stays like that untili turn it off.
Plug it in with the factory cable. Make sure it shows as "Android ADB Interface" in the device manager, then flash TWRP 2.1.1 (fastboot flash recovery twrp.img - check the file's hash first), continue with "fastboot oem idme bootmode 5001", then switch to a regular cable and restart the KF (either force it off and then turn it back on, or "fastboot reboot").
If all goes well, it should boot straight into TWRP, from which you can install FFF (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632375), as well as wipe cache, dalvik-cache and factory reset. Hopefully that'll be enough to get the stock ROM back up, so long as system and boot are fine.
Not sure there's a Kindle Gen 1 forum, so posting this here.
This morning I was fiddling around with attempting to root my Kindle Fire. For some reasons, most of the root drivers weren't working.
Then something did work, but apparently I did NOT get rooted, as that option on ES File Explorer wasn't there.
Finally, I managed to get something to work. I used Kindle Fire Utility and was pretty successful.
The problem is, it would not reboot. I let it sit there for hours, and it wouldn't get past the boot screen, saying "kindle fire"
I unplugged it, force-shut it down, and tried again to reboot it. Still stuck on the screen. Figuring it would work itself out in a few hours, like most of my Kindle problems, I left it. Now I'm sitting here, and it's still not working.
It reacts when I plug it into my computer, but the computer only recognizes it as 'kindle' without a driver and the little yellow sign. Won't open up a folder for it, and the Kindle isn't getting past boot. Really stuck here.
That's pretty much what happened. Is there any way to fix this? Or is my Kindle facing a unique problem (with my luck, probably is).
Edit: Now the boot screen is flashing on and off...?
First, there is a kindle fire first gen thread just look up kindle fire in find your devices second, you will need a factory cable to reboot to fastboot and reflash the stock rom
