Hello. I have U8800 pro. Some days before, i am updated my version 2.3.6 to 4.0.3(original, from huawei website). I updated almost without a problems and was happy that i have ICS 4 on my mobile. But then i started to noticed two main problems. One of them, is "unfortunately contacts has stopped". I was backuped my contacts on previous system and restored on ICS and after some uses, when i am trying to call from my original "Phone" app, error has occur. Now i am using Touchpal, but still i could not call to short numbers- 114, 234 or whatever. I tried factory reset, but after a while, error coming back. And another. I am started to using Apex Launcher(very nice app) and sometimes, when someone calling, my ringtone is "Phone Default", not what i am chosen. So, sometimes, when same person calls, it could be my ringtone or telephone default. I changed my ringtone and on Apex, and on 2D, but that problem still exist. I hope we can find solution. Thank you.
After install official update 07-17 problems gone. Thank you Huawei! Problems solved.
Got the original ics update too.. very nice and every thing works... 2 comments i have .. memory is very low... cant handle more than one app.. even the launcher restart when exiting the app or pressing home... 2d launcher sucks... too slow.. no customization what so ever .. using apex ( lighter than nova ) but overall .. this is a very good move from huawei.. keep it up

Hey guys....I've had the Glacier for two weeks and I couldn't be happier. I got the OTA 2.2.1 and rooted it without any problems. Then, today I got a "android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly" only when I go to the phone dialer or contacts. Everything else works perfectly. Earlier today I changed the boot animation and the splash screen...both work flawlessly. I changed the boot animation back to stock and see if that would fix it but no luck. I have rebooted and taken the battery out several times but no go. I checked around and no one else seems to have the same issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....Thanks in advance.
Edit...I just fixed the problem...I had downloaded a Tmobile voicemail app that was causing a conflict. I uninstalled it and I'm golden again. I appreciate the help. Thanks.
I've had this come up intermittently since rooting, and haven't been able to nail it down to one specific action or app, etc. It's happened since doing perma-root, and doesn't seem to matter if I'm running stock ROM or CM6.1 Alpha (which I flashed last night - had this pop up once or twice since).
It's annoying, but hasn't caused any real problems so far.
Would be nice to figure out why it's happening, and find a resolution.
What apps, if any, have either of you deleted since rooting?
Does it write any useful exception information in the log file?

I haven't deleted any apps...just hid them under general settings using Launcher Pro...the only other thing I did different today was unlock the SIM using the code Tmobile sent me but I can't imagine that has anything to do with it....Just can't access the Phone at all or the Contacts without a force close...I'm stumped...
Trying to figure out a good way to upload a log file...
I think it might have something to do with permissions..it said among other things...
W/dalvikvm*3381):Refusing to reopen boot DEX'/system/framework/com.htc.android.pimlib.jar
not sure what that means....
Please post questions in Q&A section.
Yep, I'm having the same issue. It does it when I'm using a few applications like Twidroid, even ChompSMS, and another one. I'm thinking it has less to do with what applications I'm using at that time (meaning it would do it no matter what application I had open) but those 2 I use 95% of my time on the phone.
& I as well have not deleted any applications only freezed them with Titanium Backup Pro.
Hi people,
For some reason when I do a search on my N4, I no longer get any apps in the list. I can't search for any apps on my phone - not Google apps, not 3rd party apps. Nothing. I've wiped the data and cache from Google Search in applications. I've restarted a few times. I've checked and unchecked the option under settings - phone search - Apps: Names of installed apps. I've unchecked everything but that option. At the moment, nothing I've done has worked. And it's been like this for a while.
It wasn't always like this. It used to work and I have no idea what changed. My G.Nex running CM 10.1 works fine (just slowly lol).
Can anyone help?
I have the same issue, not sure when it stopped working though as have been playing with different ROM's.

I just noticed the same problem on my Galaxy S3 with the stock ROM. Maybe it is a Google Search issue? It is *really* annoying!

I just uninstalled the update to Google Search (Google Now) and it was able to find the apps installed on my phone. I then updated Google Search and .... no more apps in the search list. It appears that Google Search is BROKEN.
I have the same problem (Galaxy Note N7000) after upgrade to stock ROM 4.1.2
Google Search (with or without Google Now) does not find any on-phone apps when searching, even after clicking "Phone".
Has anyone found/heard of a fix?
Anyone else figure this out yet?

Possibly unrelated but worth noting that various other problems have occurred on my phone, I believe due to the path to the external SD card changing from 4.0.x and 4.1.x and me not doing a full reset between upgrades (I shouldn't have to...)
Mine is working now, don't remember if I flashed a different ROM after my first post though.
Thanks but now I am to believe it's Rom related.

I'm on note 1 and im also facing same issue. I could see msgs only if i open app or sometimes if i restart device.
From my experience it sounds like a network issue, are you on 3G/4G? or Wifi?
Previously when I was on a crappy carrier (Vodafone AU 3G) I would get delayed messages, but now with a better carrier (Telstra 4G) I get them almost instantly. In fact I get messages faster on 4G than on any WiFi I've ever connected this includes a Wireless N network with a 100mpbs down / 2mbps up cable connection.

It happened to me last night, whatsapp woke up when i touched the phone , it doesnt happen much often, i think the problem is not in our devices, its more like whatsapp's servers on huge pressure causing the delay in receiving msgs.
Maybe you could try "push notification fixer" From the playtore. It is worth giving it a try

same problem here. The messages arrive only when I open the app.
It was occuring while I was with samsung rom, but its more often now with an AOSP (omnirom). I dont think its rom or device related.

Silly fix. Won't solve this problem whatsoever. But hey, trying it out won't do much harm anyway.

guys, any solution please ?
This thread has been dead for a long time and whatsapp issue as well but lately it resurfaced on a friend's phone not mine and yet we have the same OS/ROM same whatsapp version etc. but strangely he doesn't receive messages unless he opens the app
I have noticed this happens only when he is connected to his wifi network because as soon as he disables it to switch to 3G he receives the messages so I have come up with a workaround using tasker to disable and re-enable wifi periodically so that he receives the messages only a few seconds after they are sent
This has been happening since a couple of whatsapp updates ago but since the latest update it has been much worse
I hope this issue will be resolved soon and in the meantime if this has been discussed on some other thread or forum please feel free to redirect me
Hi Guys,
Must say I'm loving Lollipop so far, however I have a really annoying issue - my Contacts / Phone app keeps crashing. 'Unfortunately Contacts has Stopped'. This occurs almost every other time I open the dialler. And randomly if I leave it as a background process.
I'm running the German Lollipop build, with BTU UK CSC. I'm rooted with Philz Touch recovery.
I've reflashed, factory reset, cleared cache, cleared the apps cache & data, fixed permissions, pretty much all I can think of! All to no avail!
My contacts are all synced via google, and use Ubersync to pull through high quality photo's from facebook.
However after removing all contacts, ubersync and various syncing etc this is still occuring....
Any ideas?
I've been getting that one lately, and I don't even have Lollipop yet. I am using True Caller and think it might be related to that.
Same problem on my note 4 and I don't even have lollipop yet

Thanks for the reply - I don't use any 3rd party app to manage Phone or Contacts! At least you have an obvious candidate for the cause!
It's driving me nuts!!
I've been in Gmail and tidied up my contacts - long overdue to be fair and how much fun that has been! Maybe there was something up there - though after resync was still occuring so unsure....
I've factory reset again - It seems to be working fine at the moment - something i'm installing or updating must be causing it. I'm now going to install all my stuff one by one until I find what's causing it....

So I basically let all apps update themselves before installing or doing anything and here we go - Contacts has now started closing again.....

I am also on BTU CSC and German lollipop, no issue at all, but i am not rooted, stock and everything is working great and getting great battery life too.
I didn't wipe data only cache if this helps.
I'm having this on and off. Non rooted. UK unlocked.
Has happened to me 3 or 4 times since Friday that I updated to Lollipop.
It's really random too, once it happened after taking a photo, another time when I exit from Viber.
Thanks for the responses guys - feels better to know i'm not alone.
I flashed lollipop and restored my backup. On every boot I get contacts fc but then that's it never again till I reboot . So looks like it's either not lolipop related or perhaps related to the new modem?
I know this is a note 4 thread. I am using an S5 and started having this issue after upgrading to lollipop. So it is not just the note 4.
Yeah I noticed the error too after installing Lollipop, happens once a day while exiting an app it happens randomly.

Hi, had the same problem, randomly of course.
Phone is locked on Orange Romania, nonrooted and started after flashing lollipop.
Tried all....cleared cache/data on contacts, contacts storage, phone, all the apps that are related to contacts, changed date format, wiped cache/data form recovery, factory reset, etc.
Then i thought it must be related to another app....and which one it's the buggiest of all? Facebook
So i disabled facebook (u can't unistall it now...thank you samsung for that and for all the bloatware) and made a bookmark with it on chrome.
So far, no contacts fc and that since yesterday. Normally i'd had at least 4-5 till now.
Hope it helps!
I was beginning to think some Facebook link was at cause here....
This seems to have settled some - i've seen one FC of contacts this morning, and then Facebook updated a short while afterwards. Touch wood - i've not seen Contacts crash all afternoon!

Started happening to me after flashing the German lollipop image. I'm on a UK Three 910F. It's getting pretty annoying.

Hi guys,
I've been using the HTC U Ultra for the past month and it's been fine, fast and stable, but SMS apps are slow to open, I've tried stock app and Google messenger app, both take a few seconds to open, takes long to open the app and then long as well to open a sms thread, is anyone else experiencing the same thing? I'm running the latest 1.64.400.3 build.
Thank you all =)

Thanks for the reply, I don't have that many SMS right now, I might get about 5 sms a day and that is it, interesting is Whatsapp, which I use a lot more, opens almost instantly, it is just the SMS apps, maybe the database for the sms's is a bit dodgy, I might try and do a factory reset at some point... I saw a review from Damir Franc on youtube and he also had the same issue, just wanted to know if this is the same with everyone, or just some units...
Does the same thing happen when the sms app is still open in background? did you already try a reboot? or maybe there is a thread with many messages or even pictures that you could try to delete.. just some ideas
i have same problem with messanger app in htc u ultra!
any body have a solution?
Ive found using HTCs Boost+ app and "clear Junk" once a week helps sometimes, but not always.... yeah... it can be slow..
Im also having the same problem with the People/ Dialer app... Pressing someones name and it actually connecting takes about 2 - 3 seconds..
Im running 1.64.401.3 in UK... but still on 7.0 with security 1st July 17.... Why arent we getting updates?.... I do realise HTC update over Play Store, so its only Firmware the Ultra gets.... but alot of the apps are being updated for 7.1 / 7.11 and even 8.0 now.. so these newer updates are going to effect older Android builds.... but seriously.... 6 months and still nothing..
Come on HTC.. Show the U Ultra some love
finally i solved this problems you should Wipe data/factory reset and next delete boost app after that!
then just use google store app and update your apps!
i do these work and all app work without any problem...
i hope my answer helps every one have these problems...
