Is anyone else having this problem? Stock, not rooted.

No problem here with .27 as my gps work excellent so far. Here how you could try rectify it yourself. Go to play store and download GPS Status tool. Run it and hit settings - tools - manage gps - reset cache, next still in manage gps download cache. And try see if it locked any satellite.

Reboot the TF101. first time locking satellite might take some time after using the gps status tool.. Stay cool while waiting.. Have a beer..

Best thing to do is go outside and lock out there after you clear your cache and settings. I use GPS TEST+ from the market.
If you have root try installing a program called FasterGPS from the market. It will sync your time with NTP before your GPS tries to lock and may shorten the time needed to lock onto a signal indoors.

Hi guys,
I've installed Trigger 3.2 and flashed the S.GPS fix, im trying to use the GPS using the "NAVIGATION" app but it wont lock on signal... it keeps showing me this "сhecking navigation availability" message while the gps icon on tray keeps flashing...
i left it a coupe of times for half an hour but it still wont lock on signal...
the starnge thing is i tested it using "GPS TEST" app and the apps shows that the GPS DO work and it allready found 12 birds and is using like 8 right now...
what do you guys think could be the problem?...
I just tried it on trigger 3.3 beta. At first it did as your saying. I reflashed the s.zip fix, went to gps test after reboot got a good lock. Then ran navigation no problem.
When I was still stock gps test was the only way I could get mine to work. So its habit for me to use it to get a lock then go about maps/navigation.
Dunno might work might not.

The fix does it itself. No need to do it manually.
Same problem. Ether way the GPS on the Vibrant sucks monkey balls. Horrible compared to other android devices! And there is not a good fix for that! Tried about 20 Roms and GPS still sucks even tried 4 Vibrants devices. Sh*t out of luck! Nice screen but crappy GPS.

I used to think that too. But i recently grap a captivate from my friend and i suppose they have the same GPS as we do. Very crappy for Froyo, but once i flash it with
Andromeda 3

I was totally surprise with the GPS lock.. It takes forever to lock before i flash this rom. But after using this ROM.. guess what? within a few seconds i got the gps lock. I don't know what they do over there but it sure works.. I need to find out what are they fixes and see if they are able to work on my Vibrant or not.
Seriously GPS lock in a few seconds for Galaxy S device is just simply magic. Let me know if anyone know what they did on that rom that make it sooo much better.
THanks
Ok, i followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=912777
and installed "Waze", with this app the gps finds birds and gets a lock in seconds with great accuracy!
but on the Navigation app it still wont find them...
Ever since I flashed my Atrix with Alien #4, my GPS fails to lock. I've tried doing a factory reset in CWM, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Everything looks exactly the same.
Any suggestions?
Check your apn's.
I voided my warranty and your mum.
Try "gps status" from the market. Unfreeze TTS if you froze it.
Sent from my Motorola Olympus using XDA Premium App.
I've tried messing around with the APNs, but they all seem fine. GPS isn't working on the gps status app.
TTS isn't frozen.
I tried flashing a different rom, but it didn't make a difference.
That's strange. It's got to be a setting somewhere. Mine connects within seconds.

what radio version you are running?
Radio version is N_01.77.15P.
The GPS was amazing when I was back on Froyo, but now it won't lock at all. Seems like it's not even on. Someone else on the forum had a GPS issue, but that person opened up their phone and reconnected the GPS cable. Hopefully I won't have to do that.
EDIT: Updated to N_01.77.30P. No difference.
I decided to open up my phone the other day. I didn't see anything loose, but when I put my phone back together, my GPS decided to work.
No issues so far. Weird.
Did you unplug and replug your GPS antenna? I'm wondering if the connection was tarnishing slightly, thereby reducing the effectiveness of the antenna... I wonder this about mine as well.
Thank you for the update on this, by the way!

Hi,
I have a S2 and a couple months back I didn't have any problems with my GPS. Now however, whenever I open the navigation and type a location, it finds me on the map and highlights the route to take, however at the bottom of the screen it says "searching for GPS" and therefore does not starts the navigation.
I have rooted the phone last month. I am not sure if this is the problem and I don't know how to unroot the phone so I can't check if this is the problem.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
Open maps first, wait for it to locate you in maps. Then exit maps and re enter navigation address and it should work
Happened to me when i Got an alluminium case

Thanks for the help. It seems to work when I open the maps first and then open the navigation later like bundi22 said.
Why is it weird like this? Is there anyway of making it work by opening the navigation straight away, instead of going onto the maps first?
im having a similar issue, 7 to 10 sats in view, no fix, happened on the last two days, before, fix was in 3~5 secs, anyone?

Hey guys what I found worked really well for me was to use an app called fasterfix from play store to change the ntp server to my country which made it much better (resets on rom flash) also mobile data works much better than wifi for a fix and very rarely it just gets stuck so a quick reboot might help!
I'm having the same issue since yesterday, just not finding any GPS satellites, but it was fine two days ago.

Hi sorry to hear that but does this issue persist across reboots? I doubt the problem is due to rooting but sometimes it can help to either wipe cache and dalvik or re-flash your rom. I have had random GPS issues on some firmware versions but for me personally DXLPB has been the best. I would start by trying small changes like wiping caches first though and save changing roms for later if this is your only issue. Also, sometimes performing a full wipe can fix small bugs like this but a full wipe can take a lot of time so let's save that for a last but possible option! Good luck with it though, I know how annoying it can be if the GPS plays up!

I've got the same . Not sure if the weather has got anything to do with it. it has been very cloudy for x days here in Scotland.
I have never had any problems with gps until now. About 10 satellites in view but no fix. It drives me crazy because I run with endomondo using gps signal.
I read about mods that improve gps fix but I can not find it now.

Great tip mate, had issues with getting GPS Fix after flashing CM9 but used your fasterfix app tip, selected UK and bosh, not getting fixes on 10 satellites Thank you very much sir, saved me flashing another ROM.

Are you sure you used fasterfix properly? Did it actually changed your Current Server? My one by default was set to an american/canadian one, hence why I wasn't getting any fixes. Changed it to my country and now it works like a charm .. Select your country/region and hit go and make sure the server link in Current Server updates, then use GPS Test app to test your GPS.
What rom are you guys using? I've noticed that my GPS sucks since installing XWLPM (Russia 4.04). I tried flashing back to a different modem but it didn't help. I'm patiently waiting for a new 4.04 ROM which might help the situation out. I've tried fasterfix as well as several other programs but it doesn't help much. My phone used to get a gps lock within 10 seconds indoors and within 5-7 seconds outdoors. Now it takes minutes...

I'm currently running on CM9 nightly, stock CM Kernel, KH3 modem. Try testing out a few different regions in FasterFix. Use the GPS Test app to test your GPS. And, obviously, make sure you're outside or close enough to a window to get a clear signal.

I live in Sweden. I've tested: stock XWLPG; RR with kernels: CM9 (not the last one though), Siyah 3.4.1, NEAK 2.1.1; CM9 RC2, CM9 0721.
Results:
- Instant GPS lock on stock XWLPG (blinking icon, fix within few seconds) and on RR (no blinking icon, fix within less than ten seconds) but only with Siyah and NEAK kernels. No problems whatsoever.
- Unfortunately both CM9 builds and RR with CM9 kernel gave horrible scores. It took 4-8 minutes to fix.
I find it really hard to believe that gps problems are weather-related (at least in my place).
Samsung's GPS always hard to link the satellites, it must work with A-GPS assist, you can download faster fix from google play, and assigned a agps sever near your region, that's helpful

This just worked for me. Thought I would share.
For those of you having GPS issues in non-stock ROMs (SlimBean, CM10.1, etc), apparently we need to do the old Epic 4G Touch fix which requires:
1: Nandroid your current setup
2: Flash a stock ROM
3: Get a GPS lock for a minute or so
4: Wipe data/factory reset, wipe dalvik
5: Restore your nandroid (this worked for me, YMMV but you may have to do a clean install of whatever ROM you use)
Nice. Apparently my mileage varies because I can't get a lock again on a third try. A reboot fixed it though. Got an instant lock after rebooting, so I dunno.
Didn't work for me.

Interesting... Did you use GPS Status to get a lock? That's what I used, not sure if it makes a difference?
I'm so glad I'm not the only one having gps issues. I'm a trucker and need gps. (Don't worry I know this is a car gps not trucking) anyways I'm on the uscc version with stock updated rom. I was hoping the update fixed it but sadly it did not. The easiest fix i have found is setup my navigation (I prefer google) then while it's trying to get directions flick down the drop menu and toggle the gps switch. As soon as I did that it instantly locked on and I'm on my way. I'm hoping this is an easy fix.
