AT&T Galaxy S3 bestbuy Wal-Mart Price match - Galaxy S III General (US Carriers)

If you bought your phone from Bestbuy and live in Los Angeles near the Wal-Mart on Crenshaw you can price match and get the phone for 148. You should try to go to a bestbuy near that location are you might run into problems. Store must be near your bestbuy and have them in stock. I actually got lucky because the charged me 148 total and gave me back 90 dollars.

Walmart selling GS3 for $198

**** UPDATE ---- This thread was originally posted in the T-Mobile GS3 Section and does not apply to any other carrier. Carry on...****
I live in Southern California and have tried calling a few stores in LA and Orange County and haven't found one in stock. I called Santa Ana, Anaheim, and they were told that some have shipped in So Cal but they didn't know where and they one of them confirmed $198 without a MIR. A few others members here have also seen it there. If you find any please list the locations.
I tried calling stores in Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs and La Habra but got stuck in a hold loop. I'll keep calling around and post my findings.
Darn. La Habra thought I was crazy for even asking.

It's not on their website. But I can confirm 5 stores in my area have/had the phone and it is $198 with a 2 year contract.

I haven't seen anything online. Some stores have received them but most have not. I did find one store that has 3 blue ones in stock but said they cannot sell them yet. Based on the tone of her voice I have a feeling that she knew more than what she was telling me. As if they were being held for store employees or something. I'm going to keep calling. I need a phone.
Yeah I wish I had the patients to wait it out I'd save me some money. I paid 370

If anyones purchases i'd like to see a receipt.. I would be kind of mad if T-Mobile gives better pricing to Wally World over top market retail stores.

The only reason i purchased my Sensation from Walmart last year is because t-mo wanted to charge $229 w/$50 MIR plus they tax the full retail amount. Walmart was able to sell if for $179 out the door with tax only on the $179. I got my Vibrant off of amazon wireless due to the same thing. Phones cost more when buying them from tmobile as i'm sure many others here can attest to. I'd post a receipt if I was eligible but Walmart said that they cannot give me the full upgrade until the 29th.
For anyone in the South/East LA area I found a few at the Pico Rivera store. They didn't say what color but they did say that they were $198 without a MIR.
Got mine at Wally World today, 198+Tax came out to 217
This was an upgrade
I can verify the Walmart deal as well. $198+tax for an upgrade in Houston, TX. They still charge the $18 upgrade fee but that is tacked onto your next bill.
Dam I just went to Dallas and payed outrageous price ..

Is the Pico Rivera store selling them now, or are they making you wait?

Galaxy S III in Houston
Anyone know who has galaxy S III in stock in Houston? I saw the walmart upgrade post.. which walmart?
I went to the one in Alvin, TX south of Houston. They had 4 today and I bought one. I went in around 2 and I was the first person to even ask about the phone.
Coscto has them confirmed for $249
Not sure about Walmart all, but I just got mine today from Costco In Mission Viejo Cali for $249 on a upgrade. Pebble blue 16 GB..
I did call walmart yesterday and today, Foothill Ranch and Moreno Valley they both told me it would be maybe in a month and no details on pricing.
But Target at the Irvine Spectrum said they will get some in this Sunday. could not confirm but rep thought it would be $200

Costco by Willowbrook mall has them for sale for 249.99 plus a free car charger and some other generic phone stuff. They only received blue 16 gb ones but I was the first person to get one today. They had 8 or so left.
I just picked up the S3 at the Long Beach Towne Center Walmart for 198 plus tax. Came to 215 and change. Was the 1st one they have sold so far.
I got the phone for the $200 price last night from walmart, was pretty happy with the price. Added the phone to a family plan so its only ~$30 a month with 2gb data.
This was in Everett WA.
Woo got it from here! They even gave me a Hollister discount lol, who knew! Thank you Wal-mart!

Activation Credit

Just placed my two S3s order at West Covina corporate store. Rep offer me activation credit of $70 (two lines). She mentioned only some well performing stores can do this. So if you're on fence on where to buy S3, try to see if your local store can do activation credit. I believe Costco does activation credit too but their S3 is $250. T-Mobile is $229 hopefully it'll drop down to $199 next week.
Can't wait until Wednesday to pickup my white and blue beauties.

Store is on Vincent next to Starbucks West Covina mall. Rep also said that her store and Montebello were best performers in San Gabriel valley.

Yup, on the corner. Tiny hole-in-the-wall, but surprisingly they sale alot of phones in there. Ask for Pauline, she knows her ****.

Heads up!!! West LA Bestbuy on Pico Blvd had 3 Siii ( AT&T) in stock as of 3:45pm

Just got home and I picked up a SIII from Bestbuy store on Pico Blvd in WLA. As of 3:35pm today they had 3 more in stock.
Hurry down there if you want one or just try other Bestbuy stores. It seems that Bestbuy stores are getting their shipment in today.
Cheers.
please post to this thread what other Bestbuy store you are finding/not finding SIII's so other members can benefit from your info.
I love this phone!
I thought they weren't going to be available until the 8th...

I called AT&T to try and upgrade this morning and was told that even the Telesales depart were out of the phones. I was told to go online and do the pre-order thing.
I found the SIII at Bestbuy totally by accident when I was there to return my Galaxy Player. I could not believe they actually had it so I jumped on it.

I haven't heard of any stores that aren't going to have it. All stores should have it. I'm getting it from Sprint cause Best Buy and the others manage to always screw up sownthing. 14 day return policy from Sprint, 30 day from Best Buy. Unsure about radioshack.
Cant wait til Thursday

I'm gonna try to get mine from the local Walmart. If you live in CA, then Walmart is the place to get it from. I just found out that Walmart only charges tax on the sales price of the item. By CA tax laws, we are supposed to pay tax on the full retail price. Just scooped up an iPhone 5 for my wife's Bday today for $205 out the door.
From the Sprint Store, BestBuy etc it would have cost $254. They charge the $199.99 and then sales tax on the $649.99 value of the device. So thats a big savings in my book, as I saved just under $50 this way.

I'm hoping it shows up on Amazon soon. I plan to buy it outright since I'm halfway into contract and don't know how this Softbank deal is going to play out. I'll keep my options open for any future shenanigans....
CA sucks with all those taxes. So glad l live on the border of NH. Live free or die, no sales or state taxes!!!
If you want to buy phones tax free and don't mind waiting a day or so for shipping, this is the best place.

I live in Brentwood...Far East Bay. lol
But all Walmarts around do this. I found out a few months ago, when my Mom wanted to get my Pops an upgrade from his iPhone 3Gs. She asked if she had to get it from AT&T and I told her that they can do it at any authorized AT&T reseller. So they were in the local Walmart and my Pops upgraded to an iPhone 4.
My Mom called me later, since she was confused about the price she was charged. She said she was only charged Tax on the SALE price of the phone, not full RETAIL tax. So I googled it and found lots of others said the same thing. So I was pretty stoked to find this out, since that more than wipes out the $36 Activation Charge Fee. You still come out ahead this way, as I would have paid $253, plus $36 activation on my bill. I ended up paying $205, plus $36 activation fee.
I called 5 Walmarts in our county and no one had any iPhone 5's. So I called Tracy Walmart, which is only 30mins from me. He had one iPhone 5 in stock and they charge $189.99 for it, so off we went. The guy was really cool and into Android and we started chatting about the Note 2 during the activation process. He said he was waiting on it (AT&T) and was juiced. He said to give him a call and check back next week, to see if he has em in stock.
PS - They had a Note 1 on display with the other models. So I gotta assume they will also get the Note 2.

I'm doing Bestbuy. Price match/ return/ exchange within 60 days for me. I get points for purchases as well.
I don't like buying at non-Sprint stores because they tend to screw things up. Happened when I got my EVO 4G from radioshack. Never happened to me at Best Buy cause I worked there and made sure it was done right. That's just me though.

I have that rewards program too. But BB charges full retail tax and they
also inflate their retail prices, so taxes are even higher for CA.

As of today (11/2/2012) Wirefly and Marketplus still don't carry the Note 2... I'm also looking to avoid the CA sales tax. I was quoted $87 just in tax from Sprint telesales.
Any Californian have any success getting around the tax?

From what I hear, 3rd party Sprint retailers should have it around the 9th-11th. That's what I'm waiting for, that and the fact I get paid on the 10th. lol

Costco employees

Has anyone out there have any idea if Costco will have the G2 on Thursday for Verizon?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I asked last Friday and they had no information about the phone. They did say any phone released at a Verizon store would be in Costco no more than a few days after.
Yeah my Costco is checking.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Cool, let us know what they say! I'll try to go into mine later this week to see if they have any new information.
My Costco guy emailed their rep who emailed his boss and was told this'COSTCO will have Att variant available on launch day, Verizon variant will ONLY be available to be shipped directly to your home, and they do not have a launch day yet. So hopefully Thursday they will be available to order

Can anyone confirm this? I will be in Vegas on Thursday and will be looking for this phone on vzw. Also how is Costco return policy on phones I saw mixed documents saying 14 day and 90 day

I talked to my Costco again today, and they said they will have it for AT&T at launch, but they haven't heard anything for Verizon. He said he assumed it will be available for Verizon too, but he wasn't sure.
Any update?
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I called my local Costco yesterday, he wasn't sure when they would be getting the VZW model.
FWIW, Best Buy (at least the one near me) will price match the VERIZON30 promo code (that tasty one that takes 30% off), and if you have any trades, their trade-in values are better than Verizon's. For example:
Thunderbolt
VZW: $5
BB: $13 (w/o charger)
Epic 4G
VZW: $12
BB: $20 (w/o charger)
VZW 32gb GNex
VZW: $35
BB: $75 (w/o charger)
Then pick up the warranty from ensquared.com. same prices as Squaretrade (which is the protection Costco offers, $99 when purchased with phone, otherwise $125 through their website), but covers loss/theft. deductible is higher though, but better peace of mind.
Squaretrade deductible: $25
Lost/Stolen phone: Not Covered
Ensquared deductible: $75 for first claim, $100 for subsequent claims
Lost/Stolen phone: Covered
Both options beat paying $192~240 to VZW over the course of a year for their protection plans.
