Samsung intentionally doing so in order to promote the Galaxy S III?

you're totally right. this is NOT a Q&A, news, themes apps or... thread for s2G
but my question is this: where are they!?
we cant just post anything about G version in original S2 forum and expect answers or viewers to browse there
believe me, s2 and s2G are completely different phones (thanks to samsung!). so they need separate forums. both for developments and other stuffs
when people don't obey rules, the only explanation is not that they don't "understand the words" or want to make a mess
maybe something else needs to be fixed too
Newbie here...
so, im running ginger 2.3.6 on my gt i9100G... but im planning to go on ICS... my question is, the official france 4.0.3 can be configured to english?... it is recommended to upgrade to that france, or to use a custom rom... if custom is your answer wich custom should i go... thanks for all! waiting for answer
Please see this. If you it belongs in Q&A, General or any other because it is not Development then post it in original SGSII forum which it correspond and specify its for I9100G. I'm Inclined to just start locking threads and giving out infractions because its getting ridiculous.

Nobody is expecting you to put anything in the original s2 dev forum. The General/Q&A/Themes/Apps are not dedicated to only the I9100 they are for all variants. The dev forums is for specific development.
If you want to ask a question about a specific variant then you should tag it as that variant in your title so people who are browsing know, simple as that.

Hallo,
A few things regarding your post. First if you have questions, please post in the Q&A thread and do not open new threads for it. The other thing I wanted to point out is that we have already had discussions about this and we have left one thread open in German since it was for a German rom by d-two. However, the official language of the site is English. There would be nothing I would like more than to post in Spanish (that being my native language), but rules are rules. If you must post, please use translate.google.com
As to your question, there is a very early port of Android 1.0 which basically loads and crashes as it has no drivers for virtually anything. There are a few Linux builds (Qtopia, etc) that will load and work nicely with the Blue Angel, but as of now there is no working port of Android for the BA.
Okay Sorry for the Thread my english is very bad google translator he's taking false answers please move my thread in Q&A why when i open a new threa is it spam

Google Translate may not be the best tool out there, but it gets the message across (most of the time anyways )

Yes, Qtopia is good and stable on the BA. Android has not had any development done on it, so if you want to see it... go for it, but it will not work.

QTopia is the best one. There are a few others, but they are incomplete for the most part (lack of some drivers, low battery life, etc). As far as the instructions, let me see if I can upload something later.

I have an SX66 variant of the device (no camera), so I never noticed that. As far as the Wifi, I could have sworn that it worked (I could be wrong though). Probably missing drivers.
You can try one of the other ports, but Qtopia is by far the best IMHO.

lol, there's really no "best" ROM. It all depends on what you want. If you're a noob you would probably want to try out something stable and CM's will be the first stable & fully functional 2.1 release for the G1. I might recommend waiting for that. In the meantime you should probably root your phone if you haven't already and install a 1.6-based ROM. (Almost all of them are stable - you can pick just about any of them.)
when is that coming out? And how do I root it is there a tutorial?
Im guessing you don't know much about this don't you?

Has anyone tried the official Cincinnati Bell Froyo update for their Milestone XT720?
Finally, there's an official release for this. Check it out here!

How come nobody has said anything about this yet!?
It's an article, any download links?? Rev?
**Edit**
325MB is quite large, (downloading anyway) Rev or any of the guys, can you break down the contents and see what's up please? Much appreciated!
**Edit**
I just browsed through the PDF instructions and it seems that you may opt to have an unrooted 2.2.. Nice!! Although we still don't know how this ROM performs, i'll flash the nandroid once i get the download to finish and post how it goes, although i'm not quite sure if i'm gonna use titanium backup.. I'm used to being on the user's end not the tester's.. LOL..!

I cannot root my device after upgrading to this ROM.
I stucked at Reading OS Version Properties.
I just click OK when it asked if my ROM is 2 or newer, and nothing happen. My device still unroot.
Should be backing up SD card and flashing the rom with a spanking clean one and shouldn't have any issues. The data and apps will cause conflicts if you dont

Sounds like the Siyah RC6 kernel.
Then again, leaked kernels are leaked kernels. Responsibility is to those who flashes them. The problem is that plenty of people dont seem to understand that flashing anything is a risk that they choose to take.

Hi everyone, since I am probably one of the last active Gen8 device owners here on the forum and I enjoy helping people setup their Gen8 devices or just answer random questions related to them I decided to make this thread.
So anyone please if you have any questions ask them here as it will be easier for me to see them and (try to) answer them in a timely manner as I will be subscribed to this thread!
Thanks and hope this will make it easier to help the people out there that might still own one of these devices and is in wondering what to do next.

Sorry for the late response, I was in the middle of the exams re-take week so although I saw this I could not answer.
So I will do my best to help you but what do you actually want to do, are you asking how to install a newer android version (2.3.x or 4.0.x) or how to re-install the stock firmware or how to install an alternative OS (debian linux)?
Hello, same problem here , i want to install a new ROM(?) for my Archos101 but i don't know which one i have to choose , and i'm not really good in english , so if you can help me out

Well you can get a newer version but it will surely not be faster than 2.2, you could install OpenAOS Degu (android 2.3) or Cyanobiz (android 4.0) depending what version of android you want, I can help out if you tell me which one you want to install.
Also if you want to improve the performance of android 2.2 I would recommend installing one of the root kernels (either the OpenAOS boot menu one or Chulri's kernel) and then use the app called Milstone Overclock (I found it somewhere here on XDA, I can give a link) and set the CPU at 1.2Ghz.
You could also go multiboot using Kboot (which I actually need to re-upload and will do that now) so you can have newer android version(s) and stock working better at the same time. For root I would actually recommend Chulri's kernel instead of the OpenAOS one, it seems to work better.
