This Is How I Rooted by OTA 2.2 on HW002

So as an over eager kid wanting PRI 1.40, I unrooted myself to see if it would work. As you may know it didn't. So after waiting and waiting for a 2.2 exploit I decided to take my chances with a refurb. I called up Sprint and informed them I had a burn spot on my screen. They asked me for my hardware version and once I stated I had 002, the rep immediately on my side for a replacement. I asked if I could pick it up from the store and he said know problem since the ticket will appear when they have my info. So at the store (42nd st. NYC) the tech knew nothing about EVOs and kept saying we are out of stock. So I asked for a manager and told her I just want to be placed on the next batch. In 2 days it was delivered; a refurb 003 (I could tell from the back cover I told the rep this important **info**. "O BTW I will update at home ok?" That right there saved my root. From an unrooted 2.2 HW 002 to a Fresh/KingKernal 2.2 HW 003...

Can't you use the HTC-supplied stock ROM RUU and just flash all the way back to stock, then do nand-unlocking and all that good stuff again?

couldn't have said it better myself. you didn't root the ota 2.2. you exchanged your phone

so you had your phone exchanged for no reason other than you purposefully installed the 2.2 ota then decided you didnt want it?

there are people out there starving for an evo, and you go to the buffet and pile on some 2.2 that you knew you'd probably toss? now some evoless soul has to wait for your original phone to be checked out and repackaged, and that ragamuffin with the Mogul and a full upgrade burning a hole in his pocket at the back of waiting list at that store has to wait even longer. all he wanted was a little android so his kids could play some new phone apps every once in a while. you are terrible - you did not think about the children!!!

At the BB I went to they were speculating $200-$250 2 yr so $450-$500 for full.

Pre-ordered my Evo 3D today...theyre hooking me up with a free device because of some terrible customer service I received, then complained about.
First one to pre order in that particular store too...which I was happy about. I was the first one to reserve a nintendo ds when they originally launched and I was the first one to pick it up launch morning...but I digress...Im very excited to get this device, mostly to get it rooted+2.3+1.2GhzDC+Sense 3.0! Hopefully unrEVOked and/or rageagainstthecage methods will both be available!
If history repeats itself, I could see the Evo 3D on June 4th. Here's hoping history repeats itself...in this particular case ONLY!

I was thinking the third, though I have nothing to base that on. Seemed logical though because
- its ~ 1 year from the initial release

Looks like everyone but the U.S. is getting the Samsung Galaxy S II one way or the other and it seems like future owners have been waiting an eternity to get one. Hopefully Sprint will launch its version of the phone in a matter of weeks as what is believed to be called the Galaxy Within has been allegedly pictured above.
As you can see in the comparison shot we've put together below, the basic lines and what appear to be specifications are quite the same. Give or take a couple of details, you still have your eight-megapixel at the back but this time above the flash --which also seems larger -- instead of its left.
The Sprint logo should clear any doubts of the destination for the Within and the side buttons/rockers seem to match. With its 1.2GHz Exynos CPU coupled with 1GB of RAM, 4.3-inch Super AMOLEDPlus screen and a two-megapixel front facing camera, the Galaxy Within would be the EVO 3D's strongest competitor on Sprint. For all of you out there waiting, it should be coming soon -- late July according to rumors -- and with Android 2.3.4 at that!

If you buy it now, it won't have Jelly Bean - but it will get it in mid-July when Jelly Bean is released on this, the Nexus 7 and I think something else (I forget). So said those at Google I/O at least...

Thanks for the reply. I do understand the difference between gsm vs cdma. I have the LTE nexus currently. My question had to do with not being able to see the nexus for sale on my market (along with accessories). I also can't find the nexus 7 on the play store. Any ideas other than clearing data?

Google Wallet and Google Play Store were crashing down.
So they closed ordering for a while.
It's not sold out yet.
Though it seems they weren't ready for all the orders, so there might not be that many units left...

seems alot of people are having bad luck and some lucky bastards orders went through here

Between 10 am and 1pm I was constantly hitting the refresh button and on around 8 occasions I was greeted with the add to cart button, on one occasion I even made it to select quantity, the max being one handset, the rest of the times I got the stupid oops something went wrong screen
I have a sneaky feeling that something might give around 5pm UK time and not all handsets are in fact sold, fingers crossed

How to order Nexus 4 ?
Hello everyone. I want to buy this new android smartphone (Nexus 4), but Google Play isn't available in my country. How can i buy it at the astonishing price of 350 EUR (16 gb version) ? I'll pay the shipping..that's not a problem. Where I live (in Romania), the phone will probably appear in stores in December at the price of ~~599 EUR. A little help from you, guys...

I don't need it right now. If i could get it before Christmas at a good price, i will be quite amazed. I really hope i'll manage to find a way....

I'd keep checking throughout the day. It's possible there will be a lot of orders that don't process and some stock may become available again. Some people have already noted they've seen the COMING soon switch to available and then back again (I haven't).

Well ive just taken the plunge and paid £339 for an 8GB on eBay.
