Pro-tip: Don't stick your NFC stickers on metal; they won't work.
I stuck a few to surfaces that I didn't know were metal underneath, and, well, they either fail to work at all or they only barely work. So, best to test with a magnet or the NFC tag itself before stickin' 'em anywhere permanently.
(edit: there are specialty nfc tags that will work on metal, but the common ones don't.)

Hey all, if you want to be able to program more than one task to an NFC tag, get the NFC Task Launcher. It allows you to program up NFC tags with multiple tasks, and also gives you options for purchasing tags other than TecTiles.

I didn't buy Samsung-branded tectiles, but some cheap generics that work just as well. The point isn't reading warning labels anyway, but to double-check whatever you're sticking them to, because metal surfaces aren't always obvious.
There are NFC tags that work on metal. Look for the ones that specify that.

Thanks. I might have to pick up a few of those, as I seem to have more plastic-covered metal around me than I figured.

Yeah most people think, "if it falls from a 5 story building, screen first it'll be okay since I have a screen protector".
Luckily, I have a case, and a screen protector. I know if that happened to me, I would still be screwed. I also have the T-Mobile insurance ;D.

Joking aside, sorry about your phone. I hope you have the Tmobile insurance.

You should hot glue it to plaque' and then stain it. Then you could sell it on Ebay as art.

Of course it was a joke...duh
I'm still wondering how it happened.
I mean for the phone to be on the door opening at the right time.
in most cars the phone will either fall outside on inside the car.
It must have performed an awesome balancing act to be broken right down the middle.
what i bet happened is that he raged and slammed it against the edge of a table or countertop.

Half off mobile phone accessories. Does not apply to tablet accessories. Already tried yesterday and no go.
The AllShare dongle is $49.99 which is a good deal.
Yeah I got that a while ago, for the dongle, works very nice, although I had to use triangle away to reset the flash count

It was connecting for a second, but would never get fully connected, kept disconnecting before it would display my note on my tv. Did some research and other people said triangle away worked, so I tried it and it was just what I needed. I had already tried stuff like fixing permissions and whatnot. I was on a rooted stock rom at the time. I also didn't want to to a factory data reset, which I ended up doing anyways to fix my snotes. Either way, it is working perfectly now! Great for netflix and hulu when I need to

I've thought about getting one but don't want to spend 30 bucks on something I haven't held yet. Do you have a caliper you can measure the diameter of the grip? or can you relate it to some other pens? I like the thicker pens so I can grip them
Also, how does it work with the button?

Some comparisons from my S-Pen collection. The lower 1/4 is rubberized so it's easier to grip and that's where the button is. It's a little far down but it's the same way on the stock pen. It works well and feels fine if that's your concern.

I've just knocked my XZ off my sofa whilst on charge and it hit a tile from my fire place! Checked the phone thoroughly and was just about to go get a beer to celebrate when I noticed a small little crack on the side under the volume button :'(

I take mine out at home. Solely to keep it clean outside I put it in a case, not to mention protection. Also, if you have it in a case it's harder for potential thieves to spot expensive phones from worthless ones. A big thin slab looks expensive.

1. I tend to keep myself out of mud and dirty places.
2. I don't live in an area with a lot of crime or poor people.
But we are having a stupid discussion here. Some people like to have some extra protection and some people don't. It's easy as that.

I've used a credit card slot ever since my 3Com PalmPilot days. Would love to get one for the Note 3 that has the electronics to do either S-View properly or at least on/off with the case opening.
Looked at hundreds of eBay listings and had no luck.
Anybody aware of such a thing? Does the on/off just require a magnet and only the S-View stuff the special IC? Any way to hack one easily?
Also, is this more appropriate in Q&A or accessories? Mod, feel free to move.
