Hello
I'm new to xda, so i couldnt post on the aurora 4.0.4 by dzo thread.
I couldn't read all replies but from what i've read many of those who have the aurora ics rom installed on their u8800 device seem to have noticed the grey wifi icon.
I found a easy way to turn it "blue" again, it seems to be working for me everytime.
You just need to lock your screen(when your wifi is grey), then to unlock try press and hold the lock button till the screen turn on, it should be blue again. I've seen many telling to reboot the device, reinstall the rom, but honestly none have worked, besides that, this is a simple solution.
By the way i have the latest version of aurora ics 4.1a, and i haven't experienced, till now, no bugs while i use the phone, besides the grey icon. Maybe the battery comsumption is a bit higher than the stock rom but no big deal for me.
hope it helped.
Closing wifi and opening after a few seconds works much easier.
Sent from my U8800
I tought so but for me just turning it off and on doesn't work, it stays with the grey icon, but with the procedure that i refer above everything seems to work great now. My first attempt to try to solve the problem was to turn off and turn on the wifi but it was the same...

Is there a way to reboot the Defy using the hardware keys on the Jordan CM7 release?
I know it's possible in the nightlies, but I like the stable release. The reason I want to do it, is because sometimes the screen won't turn on during a call, and just stay that way till the battery gets pulled. This issue has been mentioned in the aforementioned thread, but in regard to some Wifi settings (which is turned off).
Thanks lads.
Err... Any clues?
Hello,
I've been running WIUI on Defy for a number of months now, but I've not notched up the required number of posts on here to post to the development WIUI thread. It seems that people in this situation need to discuss any issues outside of the Dev area. I've had a search through the site and not found a new member WIUI thread. This seemed to be the most relevant place, so I'm starting a thread here. Please let me know if there's a better place. If this is OK, please draw this thread to the attention of Wajk and the other guys on the Dev thread.
Anyway here's my issue:
I've just upgraded from 1.9.9 to 2.2.3. The behaviour of the LED seems to have changed. It now shows green when it it charging. I read there was a "battery light" patch to do this. I assume it has now become part of the main image. I'd like to return to the old behaviour where the LED flashed when an SMS is received. I keep my phone on silent during the day and this is the way I notice I have received a message. Is there a way to do this? I've searched the settings for "LED", etc, and not found any option to change.
Thanks,
Rhys
I found this.
Thanks for the tip to check that build.prop file.
I found this in there:
# LED charging indicator mode
# off = keep LED off during charging
# white = white LED for 'charging', green LED for 'charged'
# rgb = mixed yellowish LED for 'charging', green LED for 'charged'
persist.sys.charge_led=rgb
Setting it to off disabled the charging LED . I tried adding ro.battery_light=false, but that didn't work for me.
I'm still not getting a flashing LED on SMS messages. Do I need to download a suitable app to get that working again?
Quick question:
I'm on CM7.2 Quarx (i've been playing around with different nightlies since flashing cm7.1 stable) and want to try wiui.
Can i just flash the zip over my current cm7 the same way in recovery? or do i need a fresh install (clear system data, etc.)
thanks,
I'm on wiui 3.1.27, and I have some issues, like rparrygbr
I tried to post a private message to Wajk on a hungarian forum, but I haven't got any replay for it.
So:
1. Play store will start "stop unexpectedly" when the "Applications" page (note the message that something is updated when pressing on, it flies in the play).
Anno (probably the 2.9.x version) FR is made to recover because the cache (Dalvik too) urinates, Play wipe data did not help.
2. Wifi Tether randomly throws himself at intervals, when I turn on 'error' on down there - this time a cache (Dalvik too) excretion solve the problem, at least for the next connection.
3. WiFi random intervals, you can not connect, turn it on, and then it immediately switches - this place used to be a reboot
4. repeatedly used to something being that wifi - 3G switching, if you lose the wifi signal and not turn it off, you can not form a connection to the mobile web, usually have to restart the phone (if you look at the mobile network settings, such as not saving the selected value, for example. "3G preferred") - there is no indication in one of the spots, even though I set.
Many thanks for help me
I've installed the 3.1.27 (GB Stable) last night and the first issue I've encountered was related to WiFi.
Every time I connect to WiFi with me cellphone, it instanty drops the connection with my router, making any other devices (notebooks, tablets etc) don't have access to internet too. So I have to reboot my router (TL-WR441ND) to have access again, but once I connect my phone... it's all the same thing over and over again.
Had the same problem with MS2Ginger 5.0a, so I switched to MIUI 3.1.27 hoping that won't happen.
There is any solution for it?
I flashed Dark Unicorn Resurrected v2 and then updated to v2.5 exactly as instructed. Everything works amazingly so far, but one issue I am having is with the GPS. It refuses to lock on. Because of this, I can't use Navigation's turn by turn directions, which I use quite frequently. I installed FasterFix to see if that would help speed things up, but no luck. I've let it search for over 15 minutes and still nothing. Hasn't locked on since I've flashed. The notification bar pops up with the "searching for GPS" but disappears after like 3 seconds. I'm wondering if it stops actively trying to search.
Any help/advice/tips would be greatly appreciated!
I really need to get my post count up so I can ask this on the appropriate Dev thread.
Try reflashing the rom.
First time I flashed it, I wasn't able to use bluetooth. I could turn it on, see its mac address, but could not find any devices neither be found.

I haven't had gps issues on 2.5 but I did on previous versions. I would try the gps fix that is posted in the second post on this page by sckboy78 and 0.0:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1670207&highlight=gps+fix
just click the link under all fixes in one place.
The 'read this first' doc will explain how to do it. If that doesn't help they are discussing gps issues and their radios in these posts in awesome's thread:

Hope this helps!
Hi all,
I am experiencing the dreaded sleep of death on my Lenovo K1, I cant post in the android development section as I dont have 10 posts yet. I flashed the V2 CM10 via NVflasher and then updated to V6 via Clockword Recovery. I have checked that my Wifi is set to "Always on", I have not done a system restore so this is a clean device. This is now my 3rd flash of this image with the same problem(My previous JB AOSP worked fine). Does anyone have any idea what I can try next?
Thanks!!!
I'm having the same problem with my WiFi version of the K1. I have flashed krook1's build a couple of times and have tried setting the WiFi to Always on. I also have tried Better WiFi On Off and Soft Locker apps to manage the wifi and keep it out of deep sleep (both recommendations in the dev forum) but neither have helped. Every time my screen goes off, the device appears to continue functioning; I can hear notifications going off for emails or text messages. If I try to turn on the screen again using the power button, the two lights on either side of the home button will flash but the screen does not turn on. I then have to hold the power button down and boot up the device again. It doesn't matter if the screen times out or if I turn it off manually, it will always die immediately after.

Hi,
I was experiencing the same issue, the Sleep of death, and would not wake up after turning the screen off or locking the device.
After a lot of testing without positive results, I found this app from the market:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.omd.autoscreenon
It allows to have a "Wake Lock" sensor on all the time, it drains battery a little faster (I haven't noticed much of a difference) which seems to have solve the wake up problem.
I've tried this app the whole day and I haven't had any SoD so far.
Hope this helps.
Hello all, new to this here.
I've had a Note 3 for quite some time and decided to finally give in to all of this rooting.
By popularity, Alliance ROM seems to be the one to go with.
I managed to get the ROM up and running and I must say this is much better than anticipated.
However, I believe I may have found a bug... if not, I must have done something wrong along the way.
In short, the quick toggles do not reflect any changes. If I turn wifi off, it stays bright green as if its on. Same for any toggle. The only one I see change is the NFC and thats when i switch the s beam on or off (even then it doesnt completely gray itself out, it just goes dim green as if it was changing from on to off, visa versa).
I have wiped and reinstalled the ROM twice with no results.
Is anyone else noticing this? Could it be a fluke?
You have to change the on/off colors manually. It's something that they'll address in the next build but it's a known problem. I forgot how right now but. I'll look for you once I get home.
Settings>custom settings>status bar and toggles> toggle options > toggle icon style
And change it to one that works. Toggles should change immediately and if I remember correctly only one set of toggles worked for me.
Now they all work for me.
Try that and report back.
