I just went to gamestop's website and tried to order a nexus 7 but it appeared to me they don't offer in store pickup??
Any other way to avoid the shipping cost?

I tried this as well. I don't think you can do an In-Store Pickup if you order it online, so if you want to really save on shipping, you're going to have to go and order it
at the store itself.

Only on select tablets, Nexus 7 not being a part of them unfortunately
you can pre-order in store. so your better off just going to the store and doing it there.
Just called GameStop about this. If you pre-order in store, you will pick up in-store. if you pre-order online, it'll be shipped.

if anything do NOT take what the people at the call center say as fact and do NOT listen to what most of the stores will tell you if you really want it just show up

We have to wait at the store Thursday morning to buy one (limit 2 per customer, upgrade or buying in full price).

Yeah I read that too. Kinda pissed that some could just walk into staples and pick one up while I'm still sitting here with my staples preorder with no indicative date for shipment.

I just checked MemoryExpress website and they are all sold out in all 3 stores in Calgary already and it says online is sold out too.

Just picked the last one up from Canada computers in Hamilton. It's black instead of the brown that some people may have received. the guy working there said that they're getting more stock on Monday so you may be able to pick one up if you go into the store tomorrow. Ncix also should have orders for in store pickups starting Monday.

ordered 1 8GB and 1 16GB on June 27th from the google play store for a total of $544
CC not charged at the moment for this receipt from google, no emails since in regards to shipment or order
I've called around to many retailers and most are either unaware or not stocking the product, while only a handful are getting in shipments on Monday.
Not sure if its worth the hassle of buying a N7 in store on Monday and dealing with google to ship back one of the 2 that I ordered or if I should just wait, I feel frustrated that I went right to the source to place a pre-order for a product but retailers are selling it before I get any notice on when I'll get mine.. then I remember I live in a first world country and there are bigger injustices taking place around the globe.
Later I'll go have sex with my supermodel girlfriend on my yacht.

Ditto... Ordered on 29th - we still have the 2-3 weeks shipping time GOOG mentioned when we pre-ordered.
Who cares if retailers are selling them early?

If you're looking for the $199 (8gb) version, that's only available via the Play Store.

$249 is normal price for a 16GB. If you want to walk in and buy one, I suggest checking Sams club or Staples.
Staples is your best bet, got mine from there.

I called around the Staples locations in my area and found one that was well-stocked after I ran out of patience with GameStop. I was in the second wave of preorders with them, but when I called and asked for an update, they told me that wave wouldn't be coming in until September 30. I'm sure that's a pessimistic estimate, but I didn't see the sense in waiting for weeks on end when I could get it immediately.

Gamestop has kind of a layway where you can put a minimum payment on a pre order, in tgis case it is $50, and then you keep making payments, only benfit of waiting till sept 30 with them

I'd like to actually see a Google Nexus 10 in real life and play around with it at a retail store before I decide to buy it. Very curious about the ridiculous resolution etc but Best Buy obviously doesnt carry it. Does anyone know a chain retail store that has them in stock or on display? I could just order it from amazon and or google play and return it if I dont like it I realize but was wondering if anyone had any ideas of where I could actually see one first before ordering. thanks.

Yeah seen them in two of the Staples I visited. They have it on display. Nexus 7 too if you or anyone else was curious. I heard that some Walmarts will put it on display too but I have not confirmed this first hand. Good luck! :good:

Staples seems more likely to have N10's on display. Wal-Mart in this area only has Galaxy Tab, iPad, and Vizio's on display.

In My Local store have the Display model and the employes don't have the device.tell me on sale the 4,but have in store one or two days before.
Went into the store. Plated with the display one. Fantastic!
