yes it does.
but what's wrong with it? i don't see any problems show in this picture
Don't know, but do you mean "bright clouds" on the display?
On black areas of the screen i can see some "bright clouds". If i play a game or something like this, i can not see this "clouds".
Does anyone else have the same problem?!
^^
It's called light bleed. It is not a part of the actual display, which is why it did not show up in the pics from OP.
It happens sometimes on tablets, and other devices, it is a defect but one you can kinda live with as long as it isn't overly pervasive. If it's really bad, it's return time.

thats exactly what it is.. its on the physical glass screen and not on the display cause it doesn't show up on the screen pic.. its only noticable when i have something with a black screen.
is there not a fix for this? if i could avoid asus warranty i would.. have read nothing but bad reviews on them.. and my prime is new.. and was told they will give me a refurb and who knows what was wrong with the refurb.. atleast with this one im aware was just the glass on the screen..

i think there was someone how took apart their prime or TF300 and fixed this light bleed.
here is my google search with some videos, and a nice long thread on how to fix this.

Hi everyone so I've had my evo for about 2 weeks now I slightly see some light were some people have had real big issues should I be worried...i mean you really have to be looking for it..i didn't even know wheee thee light was coming through.also at the bottom of the screen if you tilt the phone I can see the light from the menu buttons is this normal?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I think its normal, mine does it. I watched unboxing and reviews of EVOs on YouTube and it was pointed on on them too. I have a rubber around mine so the light leak is covered. I can also see the light leds if I turn the phone and look down from the screen. Its an obvious design flaw, im surprised they let it go like that.
Normal.
I was about to go to sprint store for a exchange and also saw YouTube ones shown had same problems. I guess It's normal for HTC products...
Just hope dust going into it end up inside the lcd.
Doesn't bother me...
Yep I have some light leakage too on the bottom. It's normal...

Hey guys I'm sue most if not all our you know about the black ink marks with the SGS III. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to take the phone back and get a new one but now I'm not sure because I hear that almost all the SGS III handsets have them. How many of you have taken yours back and was it worth it?

You can only see them when it's dark. At first I didn't think it would be a big deal but last night I opened my message app and I could clearly see them.
Edit: has to be a black background.

I noticed a couple on mine, but they really are only noticeable in total darkness on a black background. If they get worse I'll consider getting it replaced, but its such a minor issue, it doesn't seem worth the hassle of a replacement.
The screen is amazing compared to my OG Epic.
They are "normal" for amoled screens. Ive had about 12 razr/razr maxx and everyone had it to a certain extent. They never got worse. As long as you dont have the black line running top to bottom you should be fine.

Try using this background turn off the lights and see if you can spot the splotches.

Here's how to test:
1) Download Display Tester, Go to Colors, then Dead Pixel.
2) Swipe the screen to the black color Page.
3) Go into a dark closet and look for anything weird on the screen.
I'm pretty sure that everyone who posted here will not have a perfect screen.
I have a couple but never notice them unless the screen is super dark...not too worried unless I notice them under normal conditions.
Here's an idea; if you have to test for something under extremely particular circumstances and don't notice it otherwise maybe you shouldn't go looking for a reason to make yourself unhappy.
Just a thought.
If you stand on a chair holding the phone at 37 degree angle while watching a specific Nickelback video and get a weird tint...don't do it?

If you ever watch a dark movie, you will notice it. It can be irritating to say the least.

I wasn't looking for them. I didn't even know they existed. I actually noticed them one night when I was texting. It sucks that some have them and some don't... I would like to be one of the few that doesn't if you know what I mean
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Yeah, I can definitely understand being irritated if you see it during normal use, it just seems like some people (big thread on this in the international section too) go looking for it. Personally unless if actually seen it during my normal usage I'd never go looking for some flaw that I'd then always know was there.
That was what I was getting at, just to clarify.
I sold my 16 gb and bought a 32 gb Nexus 7 last Saturday, and unlike my 16gb one, which had pretty bad screen separation, the 32 gb one is perfect outside of the display colors. Everything has a blue tint to it and it's bugging the hell out of me because my last one did not have it.
I went to Office Depot to look at their display tablets today and the two Nexus 7 they had up the had same hue along with an Asus Transformer tablet. Seeing that Transformer has been out way longer and has the same type of screen problem, is it realistic to think that Asus can or will make any adjustments to the Nexus 7's display?

Seems that the issue that the app resolves is somewhat separate from mine. It addresses washed colors after watching videos. My colors are that way all the time on this Nexus lol.
You know what, I keep asking myself the same thing pretty much
I returned my 16gb for a 32gb... and I keep thinking that the 16gb had noticeably better screen quality. I keep telling myself that it's placebo, that I'm tripping.. I just have this distinct feeling that something is very different and not for the better... I don't know, would have to have more people.
Not seeing any problems here.
But then I haven't been brainwashed into looking for problems that don't really exist.
Would have even noticed anything, unless you came here?
I dont think asus will ever fix it.
Disable Prism doesnt fix colors. It just fixes the Problem with darkened display after watching a Video.
How bad is it, I'm toiling with purchasing one of these tabs?

Yes . If I wouldn't have came here and never bought the 16gb Version, I would have still thought the screen looked pretty bad but I wouldn't have thought there was a potential fix. I probably will end up rolling the dice and taking it back if I can't get used to it, something that I really do not want to do.

Just look at my attachment, the 32 gb is on the left.
I work in color profiles all day long. The first day out of the box I noticed a lousy tungsten blue hue. Think color temperature levels like warm and cold (or cool). This is adjusted like a cool setting but far more.
I'm really surprised this is not a bigger deal for users. On day one I was not too worried because I thought our awesome dev community would be all over it. But, I guess only some of us notice, and it really seems to be a low issue in general.. unfortunately.
know for sure if I get a N10 it will be way better. Samsung's screens are awesome and if anything they come with exaggerated screen settings..
Thanks for the thread.
Is there a good screen replacement for the Nexus 7 that would fix this issue?
The screen wash out is real. I was very skeptical reading about it since my 16 from Walmart was perfect out of the box. I decided to upgrade to the 32 and only office depot had it. Well when I opened and turned it on, I knew something was wrong. The colors were over bright causing a wash out.
The unit on the left is the 16, on the right, the 32. Both running same rom and kernel. This picture was taken on auto brightness sitting side by side but tests were done on various light levels, including max and areas around the house. Tests were done by my husband too, so its not just me.
16 is a C8O, the defective one was CAO and the replacement that I got is C9O and looks much more like the 16.
I would hope that Asus will fix this problem but if it's been this long, I'm more in doubt.

I noticed a strange pattern of squares all over the screen..they are rather Invisible until you look at it under some light already certain angle. I tried my best to take a picture but it's hard to see if you're not looking from human eyes. Either way I don't know if this is part of the design or is it some type of weird defect. I attach some pictures check it out. Look near the light glare and you will see the little square patterns they are all over the screen I tried to capture it as well as I could.

Are you able to go to a store to compare your phone with a working display model? I'd check there first to see if the display model has a better screen than yours. Chances are your screen may be defective. You'll know right away if its good or not

Yes, I should probably do that. I am around 40km away from a store where I can try one, but I will probably go there and check. I read that this phone had pretty good viewing angles so it might be defective..:/
Just guessing here, but did you come from a Samsung device or any other with (AM)OLED screen tech?
That tech is self illuminating and doesn't exhibit the off-axis effects typical of even the very best LCD displays.
It's normal for a LCD display to wash out and/or color shift off axis.
As to whether or not yours is typical, I can't say.

Ok, might just that the screen is like this. The only solution here is probably just to compare it with another G2 then..
