Samsung Galaxy S2 Won't Boot

My friend bought a SG2 from a 3rd party sprint store that installed 2.3.4 rooted on it for him. Being that it was laggy and otherwise not working as well as he would want he decided to install the stock rom. When he did this using the proper software he is getting a boot loop.
What should I do? We have tried wiping the data but it doesn't work, the home button is unresponsive and yields no results.

The sprint phone is a SPH-D710. Look for that section.

[Q] How to flash the Touch Wiz/ Stock rom on a Galaxy S 4

A update to Cyanogenmod caused my S 4 to not work. And I want to to back to Touch Wiz. How do I do this? I need to do it soon as this is my only phone. Thanks in advance!

It's quite easy. Slow down. Read through the stickies and how to's on the Q&A and Development sections. Read through the entire posts of those OPs and you have ALL your answers.

ive tried flashing and nothing works i got the same problem the same way.....let me know if you find a solution ill do the same thanks

I fixed it by flashing the newest snapshot. I lost everything but it works at least

How to flash a snapshot.
Okay what carrier do you have Sprint, Verizon, AT&T or some other just tell me? And do you have a micro sd card?

Just download the MK2 full tar from random45 in the development section and use odin to install it. Done.

I am sick of knock on not working!

After i got the KitKat update it has been downhill from there.
Little by little knock on stopped working. now it does not work at all.
I have doner factory resets several times and nothing seems to fix this.
Is it a hardware issue or software issue?
Is it the proximity sensor???
I am out of ideas.
I am considering switching to either the Galaxy S5 or HTC M8.
Has anyone of you experienced this problem and if so, is there a fix??
I have searched and read many threads here and nobody has a fix.

This has already been done. all sensors working properly.

From the 3845#*800# menu go to settings, and touch update touch firmware wait a few seconds and then try if knock on works

Sprint variant does not offer this option

Dear i am also facing the same issue, my knock off is working perfectly but now knock on doesn't seems to work, i become really frustrated done wipe cache, hard reset and now completely messed up everything.
Actually knock performance keeps on deteriorating for me after kk update and now yesterday i got another update D802B and knok on messed up, now i had to use power button to turn my screen on, really frustrating.
As far as my opinion LG G2 is a phone with good hardware and ****ing software.

I feel your pain. this is completely frustrating.
I am going to have to send it in to manufacturer to fix or replace.
I also hate having to use the power button to wake the phone. I was so used to knock on.

Did you fellas try resetting the phone to factory defaults, and then flashing Kitkat from scratch?

Im not sure if the S5 but i know M8 does have knock on.

This happened to me where knock off would work but wouldn't come back on. Started when I installed custom recovery while on kk, fix was the flash the kdz.
I've avoided custom recovery since then.

yess same was my problem after getting the update when i install recovery via autorec. Actually sutorec downgrades the kernal i think that was the issue for me .
Now just rooted no custom recovery installed. So my problem got resolved.

So I have a sm-g928p which was rooted and I made the mistake of using an app from the store to un root, needless to say after I exhausted all possibilities of getting it to boot I factory wiped in recovery and it failed: missing /preload. Unable to get it to do anything else but boot to the sprint spark screen.
Anyone got a solution? I'm desperate. The phone is 3 months old and Samsung repair say its BER and mailing it back to me.

I think G928''P'' means spirint carrier. So just wanted to say Spirint's methods could be different. Here is the Spirint S6 Edge Plus forum link:

Installed KINGROM, now my vr headset won't install or even recognize.

I have two s7 edges, one stock rom which works fine and this one - which was stock rom until last night. I rooted and installed KINGROM and everything is lovely, all except now my gear vr won't recognize when it's attached.
I wanted to post in the kingrom forum, but I don't have enough posts to do so, so I have to ask here.
Does anyone know why the headset isn't triggering the install? I can confirm it worked when on stock rom, and the KINGROM page claims that the vr is fully supported.
Australian stock, Optus carrier.

You should have this posted in the international s7e section not AT&T. We don't have root, custom recovery, or custom roms yet. You would probably get a response and possibly a solution if you posted in the right section.
