why there are no updates for gapps for Cm7.1 and CM7.2 Users, with latest versions of gtalk, gmail, places, streetview etc.?
'Cause the developers hate us and don't want us to have the latest apps..
Grow up man, stop complaining for the stuff that hardly matters, you can update the apps once you flash CM ROM.
Actually usung gaaps is illegal.... thats what I know that google is against that.
OP isn't questioning for updating apps from playstore (which works flawless with gapps)
As I get it,It meant a new version of gapps with updated apps included

How i can update Google Apps on Android 2.2 FolioTNT 1.0?
I read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=842590 , but i don't know if i can flash latest gapps from cyanogen 7.
I want latest google maps.
Thanks.
OK, so I have installed AOSP Lollipop from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-aosp-build-t2929544
I was wondering if anyone is currently working on a custom build without so much Google inside. I would normally use CyanogenMod but they still don't have even a nightly build of Lollipop that I can find so I am limited to AOSP at the moment. I did try SimpleAOSP but that was from one extreme to another - I wasn't able to install any apps at all due to issues with libs.
It would be nice to have a ROM like SimpleAOSP but with F-Droid installed so we can install other apps without having to flash the GApps zip.
Hey Guys
I need some help with GAPPS on my Redmi Note 2 Prime.
I am running the stable 6.7.4.0 official ROM and had flashed TWRP to install my GAPPS package.
The GAPPS including Play Store and Google Services installs fine. I then reflashed the stock recovery however the OTA update functionality stops working. When trying to install the 6.7.5.0 OTA update in Mi Recovery I get an error message each time. I tried this without GAPPS being flashed and the update went through successfully. So it seems the GAPPS is causing the OTA update to fail.
Does anyone have a link to a working GAPPS package for the Redmi Note 2 that doesnt break official OTA updates? I dont want to use the Xiaomi.eu DEV ROM as its pre rooted and as a result some apps dont work.
Thanks.
Did you try this ROM?: http://miuipro.ru/rommgr/device_view/364/
It have preinstalled gapps and OTA from miuipro crew works fine.

Hi. Thanks but that's based on the Dev ROM so comes pre rooted. I want to stick to stable ROM.
Xiaomi.eu best firmware without bloatware and with Playstore

Yeah so I've had my Nexus 6p for awhile and been running stock but I recently thought about rooting. Upon downloading a gapps package, I noticed they are not the same like they used to be previous to marshmallow. Anyone care to help me out on why or is there a more stock like package that will work on most current Roms that has most of the Google apps by default... Thanks in advance
Not sure why you need GApps to root your device, but anyway... Have you been looking at Open GApps? It's pretty much just a list of different packages for different uses by processor architecture & android version. If you want to choose which apps are installed select aroma. As you seem to want stock there's a selection for that or for 'full'.
I second Open Gapps, they're very flexible. I also second the confusion over what gapps has to do with root.
Guess I worded that wrong. The gapps wasn't for root bit for the custom ROM. I know I don't need gapps for root, I've been flashing for 3 to 4 years, and lately I've been on a stock kick. But that's probably about to change..
I finally installed Resurrection Remix and installed BeansGapps, But BeansGapps hasn't been updated since 2017 and the devs for RR still recommends it.
I really wanted to try OpenGApps because It's the latest but I read that there are problems on it. Is there actually any bugs on OpenGApps? Should I switched it to Open or should I stick it with Beans? and how do I reinstall GApps?
They're just GApps after all, they have no difference but of the way it installs and supported Arch's.
Open GApps are running fine, don't worry if Beans hasn't been updated, google apps shall update their apps automatically, forcibly, you won't even see any difference.
