If I open any web address in the native browser of the phone and then switch to any other app, so that after some time, the webpage opens. When I switch back to native browser after sometime, I noticed that the web page was not opening and starts opening as soon as I switched back to native browser. Can anyone please let me know the resolution to this?

It's because of android's memory management. To run the app your closing, ram is needed. So they close background apps. Thus, on our this low ram phone, multitasking is harder. Try v6 supercharger, may help

You can lock the browser in the phone memory if you want using v6 supercharger ,kyoraapp., which makes the browser to remain in memory from boot up to shut down
If you are desperate to have browser running in background then lock it in memory but you might occasionally feel your phone is sluggish if you open lots of websites and leave it in background

For some reason in any launcher I used, when I go to xscope browser or engadget news, I cannot multitask. When I return to the app, they seem to start from the begining state....
Anyone else ?
Android will automatically close Apps that aren't doing anything if the RAM is getting full. So maybe your browser is eating up RAM?

Swaps almost instantly for me. First time occurrence? Also make sure that you have used that app otherwise it will close, easiest way is to long-press HOME and you'll see the last six recent applications.
I do longpress Home.....engadget and xscope both reload everytime I try to get back.
Tested on stock and xscope browsers, both jump to the same page BUT they both reload it
EDIT: FIXED BY RESET
So I fixed my battery issue, but now web is just closing on its own. Damn I suck, sorry guys gigantic noob. I don't want to download another browser cause I honestly don't mind the standard browser. I've rooted and done the GPS thing.
Please, help out a struggling peon???

Closing as soon as it opens or after some use? If the former, is your home page set to Google.com with location access enabled?
It's an Android software problem imho. I was just entering a reply in a different xda forum USING OPERA and before I could finish the f'n browser just f'n closed on me. Didn't save where I was browsing or anything.
Has happened to me several times and I don't think it's only the stock browser.
Yeah, google is set as home page and location finder is on.

o noticed that with the lag fix i applied, the browser freezes up or just wont load all the way. I removed the lag fix and everything works fine. I don't even know if there is a way to delete the cache on the ext2 partition. cache cleaner doesn't fix it so it just builds up and builds up

I bet that's your problem. To fix it, try to get into settings before the page finishes loading. Clear location access, and until Samsung releases a fix, don't allow Google.com to have location access.
If you really like the local search feature, try "places directory" from the market in the mean time.
this happened to me everytime i tried to go to flash intesive websites. it wasn't too often though, i ended switching to xscope is the best browser i have used on a mobile device(personal opinion).
give it a try.
stock, dolphin and skyfire all crash on me if i go to some web pages with flash. Turning off use plugins in the settings fixes it.
This is my second vibrant and I have noticed that after browsing web for s small amount of time the browsers keeps closing suddenly and returning to home screen... This happened on my first vibrant as well... Is anyone else suffering from this issue or knows a way to fix this?

Yes this happens, hopefully they will fix it.
There are two options to remedy the situation for now.
1st, go into your browser settings and uncheck plug-ins.
Personally this didn't work for me
2nd option which works flawlessly. The second option is to visit desktop versions of websites. For example, if I visit mobile version of google, it just randomly exits. So what I did is set my homepage to the full desktop version. Since google is my homepage, i went into settings, and typed out the full path for google desktop view into my start page settings.
Again, if your browser randomly closes, try visiting full page views.
I've also noticed this is linked to the GPS issue. Some sites try to get your location. If the site starts trying to find your location, and your gps is bust, the browser just exits.
you could try a 3rd party browser like dolphin or skyfire.

It has been confirmed that on the Mobile version of Google, the "nearest location" check activates the GPS which crashes the browser.
Turn off the GPS. Open a webpage to Google search and finger "Classic" which is half way down the page. This will switch you to the original Google site so that its not trying to get your location when you open a browser window. If a site is trying to use your location it will happen, but in my experience it has only been on mobile sites using location tracking.
There is a setting to turn off - allow websites to request access to your location. Would that help?
This isn't necessarily a location settings issue. It could be a flash issue. When visiting some pages with flash content, the browser will suddenly close and return you to the homescreen. If this is the case, it will happen every time you visit a particular page, and it will also happen with skyfire and Dolphin HD (at least on the 2 phones I have tried them on). Only option to fix this problem is to disable plug-ins in the browser settings.
Good Luck.
Whenever I use the browser for a while with tabs, especially on forums, the browser stops loading pages. The page load status bar just stops half way.
If I force stop the browser in Settings and then go back into it everything works fine for a while until I need to force stop again.
Anyone else with this problem? Any solutions?
It happened to me today. I had to reboot and it got fixed.

It JUST happened to me. Force stopped and it seems ok now. I was multi window surfing btw.

I have been having similar issues with the default browser. It loads about 80% and then just stalls. Dolphin browser works fine so I know its not my wireless connection. Kinda of annoyong when I'm trying to do something and I prefer the default browser so I hope this gets fixed some time soon.

Same thing has been happening to me still day 1 with stock browser.
After about 3-4 tabs, pages will start to half load then crash. Even after force closing the browser when I reopen after about 2 tabs it starts to freeze up again until I restart the tab. And now Dolphin HD is crashing on me when ever there a flash heavy site.
WHat gives??
I am sure MOTO will fix this problem some day
The only problem/issue I've had with the browser is: When your watching a video via flash on a site, streaming it, if you switch away from that tab it stops playing the audio.
Makes it impossible to listen to something via stream in the browser and browse other sites =/

Not Moto's issue -- it's the stock honeycomb browser. This update will be coming from Google.
With the 2409 cm10 defy+ build ram usage of the default browser keeps increasing until its about 135MB. The Phone becomes slow, chrome browser doesn't have this behaviour and stays around 35 MB. (Ram usage observed with systempanel lite app.)
Any suggestions what can be wrong or what I ca do? I prefer the default browser because it used to be faster.

try boat browser. best one out there imo.

hmmm...
try disabling HWA for the browser...
and btw consumption increases with more tabs open...
you can try dolphin browser which is just a skinned default browser with cool addons...
Thanks for your answers, maybe I'm just seeing ghosts and the ram consumption of the default browser is simply due to the way android/linux manages ram. (Using as much as it can for caching or something else). I do however find the difference between chrome and the default browser strange. I will try disabling hwa for apps that don't need it. See if that stops the slow downs.

Chrome uses more memory than the default browser. It opens multiple processes.
