On a movie forum I used to read, every day someone would ask when this movie was coming out and the regulars always responded with "Next Tuesday" as code for "You knew how to find this forum but didn't bother to read the countless posts here or all over the internet, you lazy bastard?" Actually, it was probably "next Thursday" now that I think about it. Makes more sense for a movie release.
well... i think that would have to take into consideration where you live. I know usually here for the US, new movies generally hit theaters on Friday's, but new DVD's/BluRay's typically come out on Tuesday.

I've noticed that it depends on the popularity of the movie being released. Popular ones in theaters Tuesdays and dvd Fridays. Lol and depends on the season. Walmart changes release dates in winter to fridays and tuesdays in summer.
It looks like blockbusters are always released on Fridays unless it's released to coincide with a holiday. Maybe it's sometimes considered Thursday because there's a Friday midnight showing for big blockbusters.
DVDs are released on Tuesday apparently so as not to cannibalize movie ticket sales. I'd think Monday would make more sense though.

I think has to do with the tegra drivers and implementation.
As powerful and nice as the tegra chipset is, i'm not buying another phone with it, due to NVidia's closed nature with it. Android hardware should be open source and NVidia is not playing nice with that at all, which is making development for it very difficult

I'm going to agree. We'll just hear the same damn thing we've been hearing... an update is coming "Soon". That's all it ever is. T-Mobile told me via Twitter yesterday that they are working on it and want to make it "perfect"...
Man! I hope they are working on something better then "soon".
The dev, community here has fixed all my problems for me except the modem... if you are comfortable flashing roms and mods, it takes the wait and insessant delays edge off. They are so sloooow,... with there flagship device? Come on.

And I am sure many of you will ***** and complain about a lack of communication by Samsung if they keep hush.
I am having so much fun modifying my rooted phone and 2.1 that I don't even notice how long it's taking to get any OTAs or 2.2 for that matter.
I think having owned a G1 taught me a lot of patience. The Vibrant is a great phone, yes it may have it's bugs but it certainly can be an everyday smartphone even without the updates.
Take your time Samsung/T-mobile, as long as we have devs and hackers that work hard to help out the community I will be patient.
in next two weeks....bla bla bla... they just going to say that they are working on something, and soon "soon" we will see something. After everybody smashing Tmobile and samsung, they had to reponse some how. I guess only time will tell.

Oh, wait, IT'S NOW OCTOBER. I guess what they meant is you could look for it in September, but what they didn't say is you wouldn't find it.
You people aren't going to be happy if they release it and its not ready. I would wait as long as it takes to get it and have no issues or less of them. You know if they release it before its good to go and you have some issues you will come back and complain. I would love to have it now just like everyone.

Still... all we have is a leaked version, not the official. Once we get the official, the devs will go off of that and we will have a whole bunch more stable gingerbread ROMs.

Perhaps a Canadian Summer since it's Bell (not really sure about overseas carrier names)? At least hoping that it's North American or somewhere where Summer = Australian Winter. THere was a rumour about it being sometime near late July?

Google should be releasing the source code for ICS. This means we (most likely) will be getting a Cyanogenmod ROM for the TF!

you and me both man. I have a b80 and I check here and rayman's site/twitter almost everyday waiting for an update. I'm dying to root my device so I'll be able to install cm8 (or cm9 if they make HC and ICS versions when both sources come out). Right now I can deal with the device as stock, but I want to root ASAP.

People's reaction to ICS has opened up my mind about apple users versus google users. I've been asking every iphone and ipad user I see (work, train, train station, shop, wherever) whether they are excited about the iOS 5 release. I've been asking for a week now. Dozens of people. Not a single one said yes. Every one of them said they're fine with the current version.
On the other hand, android (honeycomb users) are threatening to ditch android if they don't get the ICS NOW. In fact, even before honeycomb was released I already saw people wanting ICS.
This tells me we're not such a good bunch of gadget users after all.
Screw you guys. I'm gonna make my way to the apple world to avoid bitter people who are demanding to have the latest and greatest just a couple months after the last latest and greatest update.

It's not too early to say that SE 's poor customer support days are over. They are working on ICS updates to their single core devices already. I am sure we've already been really satisfied with the bundle of updates being rolled up by SE, but this is incredibly good news.

Awesome, Really gives me confidence that SE is not that bad after all, Never been a fan of using another ROM, As I love Sony Ericsson's, I will use another ROM once the Xperia Play is no longer updated or supported by SE which I hope never happens while I use an Xperia Play as my primary device.
I always had confidence in SE. <3 this company and their phone. Now, if only we could get it as stock ICS and not with their UXL overlay. Maybe with ICS it'll be much better looking, have to wait and see

Yes, SE were very quick to release a statement about this.
Asus have also said that they will be upgrading the Transformer to ICS. This is all a lot different from when Honeycomb was released.

From using Google the best I can work out is that in a Dutch language blog SE Netherlands said that they will be upgrading all the 2011 Xperia phone to ICS.
However, SE told Slashgear that no decision has been made

Your timing error is what made the article irrelevant though. Your outdated article greatly contradicts the new one that SE made ... making people believe that there is no such ICS update when really SE confirmed the updates after the launch of ICS source codes.
It's like positing an article about the Samsung Galaxy Nexus telling people it's a 8mp camera and not 5mp but using a 2 month old article as reference....
If this is true we could be looking at next month for ICS

It has been confirmed that the SGS2 will get Icecream sandwich now when we gonna get is another thing, only bet is if Sammobile can get an early leak for us before its officially released which I dont see happening in atleast another six months has they will defo give atleast 3 months for the nexus to sell before pumping it out for the other phones

Samsung italy said that ICS will be released in Q2. Maybe earlier there will be some leak
Given that the source code is out there, would any of the custom rom developers be working on it? or do they wait for an official samsung release before customising. I am new to the whole thing
Hell, if one of them wanted to go crazy with it they could make a fortune selling it at a couple bucks a pop It's probably against the spirit of the whole thing though.

The source code for ICS has not been released yet and won't be until the Galaxy Nexus is released.
When it is released, ICS ROMs will be a dime a dozen. Some will be great, some will suck ****. With Cyanogenmod being free, no one will pay for another rom. Charging for a hacked rom might also land someone in some legal hot water.
