[Q] How to get volume rocker wake on aurora ICS - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Is it possible to get volume rocker wake on ICS??
my power button has stiffened up a bit.
the last version i used was 4.0 and have switched to miui elite-sx (new testcopy) since then due to this, however i prefer aurora ICS.

Hi i have a blutooth keyboard attached to the P1000 tab for older ROMs as froyo and geniger bread i was able to turn language to Arabic and English but now i'm on the ICS nightly 20120508 and i cant write Arabic with the blutooth keyboard even the soft keyboard writes Arabic but the blutooth keyboard still write English so how to solve this problem
i've got a problem with my galaxy tab gt - p1000
i'm not an english expert, but i'll try to explain you what happened, and i hope you can help me.
i have a samsung galaxy tab gt - p1000, with an old version of android, 2.3.3, because it's one of the devices wich haven't got the update. but i have bought it about 5 months ago, so i didn't want to waste it. so i decided to put in it the new android version ice cream sandwich, 4.0. and i followed theese instructions:
Requirements and Reminders
To be able to flash the MIUI 4 Alpha ROM on your Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000, you need to satisfy the following requirements:
Root your Samsung Galaxy Tab 7″ and install ClockworkMod Recovery on it.
Fully charge your tablet’s battery.
Back up all important files and data on your device ( i.e. bookmarks, contacts, SMS, APNs, etc.).
Download the MIUI 4 Alpha ROM for the Galaxy Tab from here and save the file to your computer.
The procedure has been tested to work on the Galaxy Tab GT-P1000. It may or may not work on other models.
Use the instructions at your own risk. We shall not be held responsible for any damage to your phone if you follow these instructions.
Installation
Here’s how to install MIUI 4 ICS on your Galaxy Tab 7″:
Connect your tablet to your PC.
Copy the MIUI 4 ROM to your device’s internal storage.
Disconnect your tablet from the PC.
Turn off your tablet.
Reboot the Galaxy Tab into ClockworkMod Recovery by holding down the Volume Up key and the Power button simultaneously.
Once the device has booted into ClockworkMod Recovery, create a backup of your currently working ROM. You can do this from thestyle=”font-style: italic;”>Backup and Restore > Backupmenu. This backup will come in handy in case you want to revert to the original ROM of your device.
From the recovery menu, select “Wipe data/ factory reset” and confirm that you want to perform the action.
Select “Wipe Cache partition” and confirm that you want to perform the action.
Select “Advanced”, then “Wipe Dalvik cache” and confirm that you want to perform the action.
With your phone data completely wiped, you may now install the MIUI 4 ROM. From the recovery menu, select “Install zip from SD card”.
Select “Choose zip from SD card” and choose the ROM file that you have copied to your tablet earlier.
Confirm the installation by choosing “Yes”. The ROM will be flashed after confirmation.
Reboot your device.
Congratulations! You now have Ice Cream Sandwich (via MIUI 4 Alpha) on your Galaxy Tab P1000.
but at point 8 or 9, (i don't remember, but i think it isn't too much important) i had to stop, because i stucked. so i reboot the device, and i've formatted it. the device worked like always, and so i decided to download rom manager from the market. when i launched the application i saw that i could flash the system that i had put in the device directly from there. so i touched that option and i followed the first instructions. i flash the system as the rom mangaer app told me. but when the device reboot for installing, and doing it's thing (i'm not a computer and technology expert to D: ) it stopped at the first screen, ( the one that says "galaxy tab, samsung"), and it didn't go ahead. so i reboot in recovery mode switching off the device and rebooting it pulling the volume up button + the power button, but it doesn't worked. so i tried to reboot it pulling volum down button + power button and appeared a yellow triangle with the android man and the written: downloading do not turn off target
but it stucked there like the first screen. i waited that the device discharged, and i charged it another time, but when i charge it, it appear on the screen the battery icon, but it is blocked. and now i can't open it, and it doesn't work or answer at all.
i know that it's possible that i made mistakes following the instructions, or the instructions doesn't worked.... but now, how can i reboot or format my device.
i only need to reuse, the information or the documents in it are not important.
if you can, help me, thanks

Sorry for stupid question, but I not found on main topic...

Yes,

[Q] Couple of Revolution HD questions.

I recently picked up a used, rooted TF101 and I am loving it. The rom on it was a fairly unstable release of ICS and I quickly changed it to Rev.HD and it works great.
But, the previous rom had the ability to add a couple of programs to the unlock circle as well as the ability to hold the power button and reboot, reboot into recovery and power down the unit. These functions are not built into Rev. HD unless I am missing something, and that is possible. The other odd thing happens in Google Play, I do not see the whats new section for any of the apps that want to update. I could be missing something, have been using, rooting and roming my Motorola Droids for years, but ICS is a little different.
Thanks Matt
Well I can awnser your first question and indeed there is no advance power menu.
and second, I don't understand your question.
and 3, this topic is totaly wrong.
3a. if you post questions do that in the question forum
3b. this could be posted in the ARHD topic.
Please follow up these comments...

I am new to this site, the banner for the general section was subtitled with "Q&A". If there is a section that is for ARHD and not for development I would be happy to post there, but I have not been here long enough to hit 10 posts so I could not post in the development section.
I will try to explain my last question better... On my phones, in GPlay, when I choose one of my installed apps to update I get several panes. One of the is titled "What's New" and it lists changes in the current version. I do not ever see this pane in ICS GPlay and I really like to review this info. On the tablet when I choose an app to upgrade it goes straight to the "accept and download" pane.
Am I doing something wrong?
You were probably on a cm9 based rom which would explain the power menu with reboot to recovery and such. Megatron is probably closer to what you are looking for.
TF101 Megatron 1.0.4 Guevor test 19.2
The first ROM you had was probably a custom ROM also.
There's two ROM i know that you can customized the lock ring to add apps. AOKP and Team EOS and both those had Power button menu.
The Play Store work a little different on tablet vs phone.
When you see an app with update avaiable, you'll see a panel with teh usual "Open, Update or Uninstall" option.
Click on the app's icon, it will take you to a page with "What's New" ect.
First of all thanks to mike1986 for his work on this ROM.
I bought the Transformer rooted and with REVOLUTION HD ROM installed (don't remember the version 2.... ). After this i updated to 3.2.1 ROM and ALL was perfect. No errors, no random reboots no incompatibility with any app that i needed.
Since I was so confident with this ROM and the quality, I decided to upgrade to the last version (3.4.2) last night. All went ok, booted to lock menu and started to continously reboot. After litle observing I disabled the Wi-Fi and no more reboots. So i started to uninstall all apps related to wi-fi that I had installed in previous ROM (Wi-Fi manager, widget, Auto airplane mode). Than again I enabled the Wi-Fi via setings menu and the reboots returned.
Now i have the transformer with ROM 3.4.2 but no Wi-Fi!!! since it is not a 3G model, this puts me in a very frustrating situation .
Does anybody know how can i solve this matter or please post a link to REVOLUTION HD ROM version 3.2.1!
Many thanks to all and I hope someone can help me with this.
Solved my wi-fi problem
What can I say.... some digging in this forum and one solution was found . Even if the original post say you should not wipe if you are coming from dev's own ROM, actualy you should wipe. I just did that and installed again ROM 3.4.2.
Now all is working as it should!
Thanks again for this to all involved
Other tips. Look for an app here at XDA although I'm not sure if it was a transformer subforum or not called Reboot to Recovery. A shortcut to it on your home screen will give you the ability to reboot to recovery of the ROM you're using didn't offer that.

Thank you for this info. i'm stable and happy with ROM 3.4.2. for my next update i'll keep this in mind.
When I first started playing with custom roms, ARHD 3.4.2 was definitely my favorite. It has a very stock feel to it with many optimizations.
But when when I developed a better understanding of recovery and flashing roms, I switched to AOKP and its derivatives. They offer you a lot more customization options. I'm currently running Steel Droid v2 with the Harmony rev3 kernel.
Make sure to make a nandroid backup and use an app like titanium backup to keep everything safe and then experiment and find what's best for you.
ARHD is great, but I like Steel Droid sooooo much more!

[INDEX][ARC/ARC S]FXP CM10 - 145 - Recommended fix's, kernels, apps and tweaks [4/11]

Hello, I am here to hopefully offer a service to the Arc community that is running CyanogenMod 10 on their Xperia Arc's and Arc S'
I know from personal experience that it is difficult to sometimes find the latest fixes, modules and recommended things to install in the CM10 thread, so I hope to list a collection here for easier access
I will also try and keep this thread as up to date as possible
These tweaks and roms are for the FXP 145 but will probably work on other updates that come from FXP but I will update the thread to say whether they do or not
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780316
APPS & FIXES:
Recommended -
FXP 145 fixes from besttt Contains the latest fixes from besttt
Fix's update Error 7 problems from besttt - Replace META-INF inside the zip file with the one attached in besttts post
Supremacy Script V3 If you have any problems with this script using any kernel other than LuPuS - try V1
Optional -
MIUI Music Player for CM10 from besttt
KERNELS & MODULES
There are three kernels for JellyBean currently
RECOMMENDED - LuPuS:
Kerne and Modules: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1885559
Fusion:
Kernel and Modules (both included in one download): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926299
FXP kernel:
Included in the FXP145 zip file
HOW TO INSTALL
1) Flash one of the kernels above (I recommend LuPuS)
2) Boot into ClockWorkRecovery (hold down the menu button or volume down when the device lights up at the boot screen)
3) Wipe data, cache and dalvik if upgrading from another rom
4) Install the rom, then the fixes and tweaks in the order they are in down the page
5) Enjoy your new and improved CM10 rom!
Many thanks to all these amazing people and their great contributions to the Arc community! and thanks to FXP for the great rom in the first place!
P.S IF THERE'S ANYTHING I'VE MISSED OR THAT YOU THINK SHOULD BE ADDED TO THIS LIST, PLEASE LET ME KNOW

Found this problem with JB 4.1.2 some deodexed ported rom only, but I am using JB 4.1.2 AT&T stock odex ROM, Working nice. Also its have some major bugs.
** Talkback not work properly with its all function.
** When I install app on memory card and put them/Installed app icon on custom folder, after reboot phone, all app icon go out from custom folder. But all app working fine.
** Smart stay Not working properly.
** Stock Gallery totally boring. ICS 4.4 Stock gallery enough good from JB xxlsj.
720p and 1080p video recording stutters and is choppy most of the time.
Tested on two different handsets.
Aside from that, looking forward to the official release which should be fairly soon.
Fix the lockscreen freeze by flashen a costum kernel, Siyah B4 works great and my lockscreen did never freeze again.
btw, also die Superbrick-Bug is disabled, so you can't brick your device by wiping your data/factory reset.
Well, I found a couple of bugs already reported here like the video recorder pronlem, and an annoying and constant glitch/freeze (1 sec, give or take) when watching Netflix.

Rom issue
Hey guys, got a clean install on both rom and gapps on my SM-G900W8 , however when booting up it doesn't look like the screen wants to turn on. I got light from my soft keys, blinking from my notification light, and the keys are responding to a wake up from the power key, however not to a force shutdown no matter now long its held, battery has to be removed to power off. no problem booting back into recovery. tried all the usual rewipe, reinstall, etc. i have flashed plenty of roms in my time but never encountered this. especially with such a flawless install. anyone have any ideas on whats up?

@Mattsin, I would try using another kernel and for the hard reboot, hold the power button and press the volume down button at same time to get reboot with out removing battery. Hope that helps.

well ill be damned, i switched recoveries and everything worked flawlessly. i did not know that. thank you very much for the help my friend.
I get one little pixel at the bottom left corner of my screen only on home screen that wouldn't get colored like the rest of the screen. Only on my home screen. Is anyone else having the same happening?
It is the only thing I have that looks wrong and it is only one little dot so it is not a deal breaker. Tried to post a screenshot but tapatalk won't allow me to post it here.
Its great having the stability and speed of LS again, this time on my S5.
Thank you LS team!
I am having one area of trouble and that is getting Viper4Android to work with PowerAmp and am wondering if anyone here has a working solution.
I have tried Viper's compatible mode and force, adding "music fx" button to "tone/vol" screen of PowerAmp (but this setting will not activate).
Also tried the Force Viper option and rebooted between each option. Even tried changing the app from system to user (as suggested for Samsung devices), but that (and probably a combination of the above) gave me a bootloop!
The 'Music Effects' option in system/sounds is not there in LS on the S5 and I don't know if this method of "hard coding" Viper into the system is preventing these solutions that seem to work on other ROMS (as highlighted from my search).
Any ideas or solutions most welcome.

I had the same issue. Installing the xposed module '3dot menu mod' solved it for me.

There's also a setting in gravitybox if you are using that module already.

Hey guys, I love this rom so far, but the only issue I'm having is notifications. I'm getting text/phone/email notifications. But everything else I'm having to physically open the app or wait anywhere between 10-45 minutes to receive notifications for
I'm running october 26th build and now I can't hear any calls the normal way. Speakerphone works well and wired and BT headsets work fine. Just not the earpiece.
Anyone else with this happening?
