Yeah... I saw that. Little skeptical though because once you trace the source back to handhelditems they say someone got that info from a webchat with Sprint. We all know to think twice about those! lol It does seem to line up with that April 9th update that's been floating around though. Who knows...
Hopefully this is true and not another april fools prank. It was about a week-week and a half ago they rumored it would release in the coming weeks. Fingers crossed.................
With all the sprint leaks we have been getting I think it might be getting close.
But who knows
I already have it thanks damage
good, it's about time, tired of watching people get LEAKS and then not sharing the source...

don't worry, Sprint will just repackage one of the XDA roms as their own and use it as the official update
ive said it once ill say it again the april 9th update is a maintenance release to fix mms issues not 2.1
sprint hasnt told us anything beyond that
any new news on an "official" release date? im hearing either the 9th or 26th of this month? i don't get why sprint is soo tight lipped about this?
also when is the nexus & evo launching on sprint?
no ONE cares anymore

Once every single bug has been worked out of DamageControl, Sprint will pull it off XDA and release it.

with alot of tweaking to do after the initial install, yes your right.
i hope when the final comes out and we get custom roms, we won't have to apply any fixes. this is one reason im back to 1.5 for now. i have faith in the devs here, they do great work!
Why do we keep creating threads on this issue. It is a waste of space. It will come when Sprint is ready to release it. They have never given an exact date. People get so pissed because they haven't sent an update. Well guess what. When you bought your phone it had 1.5. They are not required to update it to 2.1. Either use a custom ROM or shut up and wait until it comes out. Then when it comes on don't get on here complaining about how crappy the release is.
I have Fresh 2.0d and it is working very well.
----------------------------
Shut up and wait
Running: Fresh2.0d
Developing:WarpedMetal (T minus 2 weeks)
Just got out of a sprint chat. this is what they're saying
honestly no thread can "waste space" as well we have plenty of it. I wasn't complaining nor *****ing about it. I am more happy with the legend based roms then the leaked Sprint roms but when the official Rom hits it will help with more development to fix issues and get faster roms out there. honestly if you don't like these threads the easy thing to do is stay out of them. no one is forcing anyone to read the forum or a certain posts. forums are for talking that is there main and only reason for existing.
damn I hate trolls.

Wow, that's interesting, I dont know whether to believe it or believe the support guy/gal was confused by the question and didnt know how to answer, so he/she just gave something generic

Does Sprint use any automated responses on the chat support? I know there's quite a few companies that do, the program just selects a basic response to generic questions about that subject, and it seems like the responses that are given by these reports are way too "computery" to be coming from a human. So I'm guessing that the system Sprint's chat support uses has a list of responses pop up based on key words in the client's question.
Probably way off base, but it'd almost make sense based on how similar the responses are in all these chat transcripts.

Awesome news!
If that's the case, I'll convert...
Great work guys!!!!
Miui + 4g = heaven
Cool. Right about now, Sense will release their new version that will be so completely awesome no one will want AOSP anyway.
Lol, they are evil that way
** Seriously though, congrats guys.
Oh and BTW this means we will most likely get 4G when Gingerbread gets ported! Which should happen as soon as the source is released. Christmas has come folks ;DDD
uh oh...4G workin on cm6? I feel a flash attack coming on tonight!!
Isn't there a thread didicated to CM and Wimax?? I would think there wouldn't be a need to make a new one since everyone knows about it in that one. Im just sayin.
Even though I don't use CM this is great news fire you guys congrats!!!!!!!!

I would bet if anything Cyanogen will be working on implementing the working 4G into the nightlys and only a few select know what still needs to be done before it can be rolled to the masses.
Just saying.

Also agree, except I never check general and wouldn't have known. This is definitely very good news. It's nice seeing my purchase decision affirmed by continued support, upgrades, etc.

Can't wait. At least I will get a little ICS on something, since the Galaxy Nexus only exists in our imagination and the UK.
Just saw it reposted on Android Police:

Yeah it made my week too. I am really upset with Verizon, but that's not new, about the whole world having the Galaxy Nexus but not here. So, ICS on my Galaxy tab heals my wounds.
So hopefully in a couple of weeks we may see ICS on our tabs it will be great
Wondering if he will post here

anyway to merge this with the two other ics posts in general...?
The only question that remains for me now is:
Which will come first: ICS on SGT10.1 or the Asus Transformer Prime?
I also hope they get flash working however limited its lifespan is i still visit a lot of sites that use flash

Adobe announced that they have one more build release to add support for 4.0, but that will be it (aside from standard bug and security fixes I suppose).
http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/21/flash-for-android-not-quite-dead-yet-will-land-on-ice-cream-san/
Who knows if this will change in the future, but if any Android release in the future breaks this compatibility that might be it for Flash on mobile devices altogether.

It's actually a huge detail. I for one will be happy just to see ICS, but ICS will pale in comparison to CM9.
Why wouldn't it be a cm build? The only reason we don't have one right now was because of the source not being released for honeycomb and cm doesn't downgrade devices. Shoot, cyanogen now works for Samsung, so they'd have a business incentive to get ics on the gt10.1 fast (albiet unofficially) considering it's their flagship tablet.
According to Mirolta Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Tablet to get CyanogenMod 9 Ice Cream Sandwich soon..........

First of all thanx to everyone for discussing here...... I have just posted about Galaxy 10.1 to get CM9 ICS very soon with a link to it. However some of our friends here are unhappy. I appreciate their feelings........Better work together in future...........
Thanks & Regards
I'm not usually one to flame so I will apologize, but people on these forums are very quick to pick up on spam and it just gets old after a wile. Everthing in your posts point to promoting your website. First of all, the site you reference(as if you are not a part of them) closely resembles your user name here on XDA, not to mention the link in you signature, O and your post count alone points to the fact that you are only here to do what we are insinuating. My post count may be low, but that's only because I actually read damn near all the information I need and don't need to ask dumb questions, unless I'm really stuck or over my head.
It just gets anoying to check these threads every day to find new news about ICS, to only find a new post with week old news. This also points to the fact you have not been reading around this fourm, or else you would know people would flame you for posting the same old stuff.
So I hope you got all the web hits you needed to do what ever it is you needed to do, but could we please keep the ICS talk not relating to development on the more replied/informative threads.

I don't understand why they don't just do it for the 7500, correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't the Wifi Only people just run the 3G firmware without any consequences? It would be just like using a phone without your sim card in it wouldn't it?

Strange to hear that it is slow as colleagues from 7500 forum are really excited with the speed of ICS update (and I believe that firmwares should be almost the same). Have you done full wipe?
Anyone else get this?
I'm one OTA behind, the incremental one that came in about a month ago never installed on my tab.
Thinking of going back to bone stock in order to OTA up to ICS and get the necessary files over to Pershoot but not going to do that if this OTA isn't really rolling out yet.

Yeah, about that--first boot left it somewhat sluggish when scrolling through homescreens & widgets, launching TouchWiz apps and responding to touches. But subsequent reboots seemed to fix that. Browsing in Google Chrome is a VAST improvement over the stock browser in 3.2.

I had checked with Pershoot on saturday and he hadn't heard from jake . . based on jake's past postings I chalk this up to someone being close to Samsung or Verizon development who's unable to share specifics but wanting to leak out a hint of info. Basically confirmation we'll get an update but still no ETA. I for one appreciate the heads up and will continue to wait it out as patiently as I can. Would love to be wrong though, and to find out that he is in fact able to send files off to pershoot. That would be fantastic.
