Hi, what evryone thinks about this that Apple is going down and is scared so much that makes all this online reviewers to kill the Galaxy tab with stupid reviews and remarks that the Galaxy tab is not good enugh and it is not the right size, and its not fluid enugh and so on...
I personnaly had an iPhone sence day one like 4 years and I had the iPad since it came out. And now I bought the Galaxy tab and its the Perfect size and I love it so much that I am going to get rid of my ipad and my iphone they are sh.t compairng to this. The Galaxy tab is 10 times better then iPad with evry way the size, the feel and the Android is so much better with its castomisations and all the staff it offers.

LOL.. Dude. personally i think IPAD and iphone is great. There is no need to throw them away. Android too, it's doing a great job. With its open source. It has been catching up fast and after all, the community did a great job in pushing it but all in all, there is stilll a lot of catching up.
Yeah I agree, there are pluses and minuses for both. What I do think proves that the Galaxy tab is viable are all the people on craigslist wanting to trade an ipad for a galaxy tab.

I can't say this is unexpected, considering their history of trying to copyright air, light, sounds, etc.
Well, good for them -- I'm now going to give the 10" Tab a closer look. Might go well with my S2 in the near future.

Gotta admire the gumption of Apple to sue the biggest supplier of the chips they use. Guess they'll use that as ammo against Samsung though.
Probably something along the lines of;
"it's not fair, we 'gave' them all our tech, showed them how to make a tablet, THEN they took that and made an infringing product".
Already had mac-heads gloating with glee, never mind the facts that there were a few dozen Android tablets (albeit not amazing quality, but still...) before Apple would even admit they had a tablet for release.
But yeah, they must be getting scared. Projections are showing how the iPhone isn't getting any new market share, but Android's eating everyone else's lunch. Guess they realise they have to act /really/ early on the tablet area to slow them down, and if they CAN take the Samsung phones out, all the better.
Makes sense really from Apples point of view. They're going after the major licensees of Android as warnings to others and increasing the cost.
But not like the manufacturers really have any options. Board room talks are probably discussing 'well, if this android is an issue, can we do something else?" without really thinking that if they cave on this, whatever else they produce won't have a chance to take off, or if it does, it'll get attacked too.

No, there are LOTS of other winners. There are all the BMW dealers who sells loads of cars to lawyers, state and federal lobbyists who get paid big dollars to insure that the lawyers keep on winning, all the legislators in various states and congress people in Washington whose campaign coffers are filled with money from lawyers. Then there are the owners of all the private schools who educate the sons and daughters of lawyers for healthy fees, all the boutique owners who sell expensive clothing to lawyers and the wives of lawyers, the country clubs who charge top dollars for lawyers to play golf and drink imported beer.... and so many others. The list of winners just goes on and on.
The losers are the customers of both Apple and Samsung who will pay more for their products so as to support their legal departments and associated legal fees.
Reports are coming in that Apple has been granted a preliminary injunction for the entire European Union (excluding Netherlands) that will halt distribution of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1. This comes on the heels of a postponed launch of the device in Australia due to a lawsuit with Apple.
The decision by the Regional Court of Dusseldorf in Germany to block sales of the device comes after a judge sided with Apple on claims that Galaxy Tab infringed on patents related to the iPad 2. While Samsung can appeal the court’s decision sometime in the next month, the Telegraph’s Shane Richmond is quick to point out it would be heard by the same judge. Apple is also said to have a separate lawsuit filed in the Netherlands as well.
Samsung had this to say in a recent statement about their legal disputes with Apple:
“Samsung believes that there is no legal basis for this assertion. We will continue to serve our customers and distributors and the sale of Samsung products will be continued.”
And Apple has made their stance on the situation clear…
“It’s no coincidence that Samsung’s latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging. This kind of blatant copying is wrong, and we need to protect Apple’s intellectual property when companies steal our ideas.”

I fell bad for the android fans in Europe, I have to say that the galaxy tab 10 is the best android tablet out there. I have owned and used them all.
Yah, I have a GT 10.1 and and iPhone 4, and there's really not much different about any of the tablets. There all a flat sheet of glass....

Atleast with the phone there is some argument with touchwiz looking similar to iphone with home button. But with the tab 10.1? Seriously Apple cmon let consumers have choice to buy what they want. Eventually the better product will win, not by blocking compitetor product sales.

I ordered my GT10.1 yesterday from Germany and it shipped today (at least i hope it did).
Of all Sammy products, the GT10.1 seems the least like an apple product, in specs, hardware and software, especially compared to earlier phones.
Yet Apple is after the GT10.1 probably cause they know they've lost dominance in the cell phone market to android phones, and very much fear the same will happen in the tablet market,especially since GT10.1 is the most credible (if not better at least hardware wise) competition.
Apples is a smart innovative company, but I felt from my iPod touch days that I couldn't live with their suffocating and closed (my-way-or-no-way) approach to using their products.
Now, it seems like apple is taking their domineering ways one notch further and just trying to suffocate any competition.
I hope Apple keeps making good products but I hope they don't succeed in killing alternatives. Just leave the choice to us customers.
Well, this is unique. The EU has been quick to block, ban, stop or otherwise harrass American companies just because they're American companies. Even when there's no legal reason or precidence to do so.
Part of me wishes Apple well just for that reason. Alas, the logical part of me wishes justice be served.

Yeah. I mean... Even if some people won't have a clue what a Galaxy SIII is, they'll still go and check out the phone simply out of curiousity - due to the massive promotion the phone will have worldwide (mentioned during commercial breaks in bumpers, on billboards, on the news, etc.)
I think Samsung has done this as insurance against Apple.
They know very well that Apple, despite using less powerful hardware, will still be able to amaze the masses and pull off decent sales - just because it'll be an iPhone. Apple at this point doesn't need promotion, since the huge mass of their consumers promotes these products on their own - though they may not know it.
Samsung is quickly rising to the top and to maintain the momentum until the next iPhone launches this Fall, and to maintain the sales of the SIII, Samsung will need something. Considering the Olympics are one of the most watched and discussed events on TV, the SIII will sell on its own.
I think that the iPhone 5 is also one of the reasons why the wireless charger has been delayed till September and why the 64GB versions will be launching later (most probably around the same time). Chances are that Apple will unveil their next device, which too will most likely support wireless charging, in September/October as well.

The same can be said about of most of the popular releases, so even the 4million that the iPhone got could easily be 2 million

Absolutely,that is true.
First, I think this is a bunch of hype and probably overly exaggerated. If there were 9 million pre orders, wouldn't you expect just a little more people on this forum. Both the htc one x and gs2 forums on xda seemed to be more populated before their releases than this forum. Also, I know I live in the U.S. were the phone technically wasn't announced yet, but I only know of one person maybe two outside of the online forums that even knows about this phone. When the iphone 4s was announced almost everyone I knew was talking about.
On the apple talk, did apple ever have a global release? I am pretty sure apple preorder numbers are only on U.S. based customers but I could be wrong.
because this forum represents <1% of users. and people come here after release looking for softmods.

I find this hard to believe. If a new iPhone is coming out, everyone starts talking about it months before. When a new Samsung phone is coming out, only geeks like us talk about it. I haven't heard any buzz about SGS 3.

The "pre-orders" are from carriers and resellers and are stretched out over a year. With the SGS2 selling 20MM copies to not have 10MM pre-orders for the SGS3 would be shocking. Samsung UK's said customer pre-orders are "in the thousands." But the UK carriers all confirmed it's the most pre-ordered device they've sold.
To put the SGS2's success and SGS3's potential in perspective, here's some statistics. In 2011 there were 488MM smartphones sold worldwide. Samsung sold 20MM SGS2's. That means the SGS2 made up 4% of 2011 global smartphone sales. There were 54MM iPhone's sold which represents 11% of the market. So 85% of the world bought something other than the two most hyped and recognized smartphones on the market.
And comparing the SGS2 against Samsung's total sales is interesting. They sold 90MM smartphones in 2011. With 20MM SGS2's sold, 78% of the smartphones they sold weren't SGS2s.
If the SGS3 doubles in sales (which is lofty) over the SGS2 it'll still be behind the iPhone (which itself will grow in sales) and have 8% of the market in 2012; meaning 92% of smartphone buyers will buy something other than the SGS3.
Samsung’s numbers are impressive and they and Apple share 90% of mobile device profit between them. But clearly the sun doesn't rise and set based on a single device; no matter how good it is. There's a reason for the Galaxy Y and One V which will outsell the SGS3 and One X by a large margin.

There is always going to be a debate between apple and samsung, but I for 1 believe in the competition aspect of it also, I just hope that apple comes out with something that is going to challenge samsung and vice a versa the only winners here r us

I think if Samsung is smart and I do believe they are, with AMOLED Flexible displays on the horizon. Apple is going to **** bricks soon as Samsung unveils their plans on a new generation of tablets. Samsung is at the forefront of Display Technology and I do believe if they are smart to not allow Apple to use the See Through Flexible AMOLEDs and the Flexible displays. Once these new products are out lets see what Apple is going to do, I bet they are going to claim they invented the AMOLED too, pathetic piece of trash a company APPLE.
Just in case no one knows Samsung has already applied for a patent on flexible roll display much like the ones used in ( the SCIFI show with the Talons forgot the name of that show, the blue guys ).
I'm not getting any update for my Galaxy Tab 10.1 here in Germany. I would like to THAKS APPLE for their contribution.:angel: had to flash to UK-ROM to keep getting the updates.
I just hate these patent wars.
