Hello all. I am trying to get OpenVPN working on my rooted Asus Transformer Prime. I have the OpenVPN server setup on Ubuntu. I am trying both OpenVPN Settings and OpenVPN for Android. Both of them say they connect to my server, but my IP never changes. Can someone help me troubleshoot this?
I get these messages from OpenVPN for Andriod:
OpenVPN needs a gateway parameter for a --route-ipv6 option and no default was specified by either --router-ipv6-gateway or --ifconfig-ipv6 options
failed to parse/resolve rout for host/network: ::/0

Hi all,
I was an iphone user because with jailbreak there is a openvpn package that allow me to connect via vpn ssl to my work and check internal mail.
Now i have move to android with sgs2 and i rooted it and follow a guide (sergiodeluz.wordpress.com/software/android/openvpn-ssltls-para-android-eclair-2-1-y-froyo-2-2) and installed busybox and openvpn installer and settings.
i deploy in sd the files crt ca key y ovpn and the phone ask my for credentials and connect sucessfully to my firewall. On firewall side i checked that the phone is connected and is ok.
BUT the phone cant ping any internal ip address and in my opinion is that is not able to create new routes or the tun iface.
so my question is how can i debug the problem because now i have more knowledge in Ios than in android.
Thanks
Hi,
Is there any way to enable or hack in the advanced IPSEC VPN option on stock firmware for S2? I really need to be able to define Aggressive mode VPN in order to connect to PFSense but... even 2.3.4 Sammy firmware does not have it.
Also, did anyone ever manage to get OpenVPN running with stock 2.3.4 FW? I could never get it to work. Rooting, installation (via OpenVPN Installer) goes fine, then even connection can be established but routes to remote networks are not propagated.
Thanks!

It could be a dns related problem, as a start try to connect remote site using ip address. Btw. are you using your phone's vpn client or something else?

I made a L2TP Connection which i use for my pc without any problem....
hello
I havent received any answer yet.....
VPN on Android 2.3.5 ARDH 6.1.5
I managed to get PPTP working on my android phone running 2.2
I used the stock VPN settings screen to do this.
1. Settings->Wireless and Network-> VPN Settings.
2. Add VPN
3. Add PPTP VPN
4. VPN Name - whatever
5. Set VPN server: (or whichever server you want to use)
6. Enable Encryption: UnCheck
Then save and you'll be brought back to the VPN settings screen. Select the newly created VPN entry, and you'll be prompted for your username and password. Be careful about typing your password in, its difficult with the onscreen keyboard.
Mine connects after that.
L2TP doesn't work for me though.

Hi,
Since we have OpenVPN for Andorid ICS client, and HostspotShield is OpenVPN-based service, I am sure we can configure OpenVPN for Android to connect to HotspotShield or ExpatShield service without installing the HotspotShield client.
I tried to get the config.hvpn file and import it in OpenVPN for Andorid, but unable to connect. It asks for Username and Pass.
Any ideas? How can we use OpenVPN for Android ICS to connect to HSS/ESS?

I noticed this, but I'm still looking to use OpenVPN instead.
i am too in need of this, maybe we need something that can convert the config files of HSS servers to the openvpn compatibles.
