[Q] Whats better....? CM7 or RoyalGinger 1.6

Over all i want to know comparison please if y'all can help! If you had to choose which one would be better CM7 or RoyalGinger 1.6. I am on CM7 just trying to see if its worth getting RG1.6 help me out here!! Thanks in advance!!!!!
CM7 Nightlies
Thanks I'm really liking it but I heard the RG looks great and saves battery life

I switched from cm7 to royal Ginger 1.6. Very fast and responsive. Moving from screen to screen is quick. Apps load up fast. Actually i am having trouble using up my battery everyday before charging it at night. Sometimes it will last two days without needing to be charged. Coupled with faux's latest kernel Cfs lv I have not run into any problems so far. Signals are good and strong.

I moved from CM7 to RG1.6 and can say it runs a bit faster and good on battery.

I have to give that a try sometime. faux keeps releasing a new version every day...i am tempted. I have always been fan of pure google experience (and then customize on my own)
use the new CM7 (7.0.2) its very stable.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
If you want pure aosp that is fast as hell without the extra crap... get faux's rom. Its amazing.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Don't really like questions like this but every rom is different. It is all personal preference. Your phone is different as well it may not like certain roms. You should do try out different roms to see what your phone likes best.

Running faux's AOSP rom! Fabulous!

which one is better...
I think what is being asked here is not which one is better, because that answer would be based on opinion; the info sought here is what are the ups and downs of each ROM so he will know which one would be best for him.

The only way to know based on your own preference is to try them all. It only takes a few minutes to change roms. I suggest you try them all for a few days each ans go from there.
My personal preference is pure Google. I hate extra stuff. Some people need a little flavor so CM is great. Just try them all and make your own choice

GB
I would say that is the best thing to do try them all... I'll be honest with ya out of the GB experience i like what Royal Ginger has done lately and the new Cm7 is really really stable good experience.. But i always and i mean always go back to Royal Glacier (mysense) i know i know.. but it's fast as hell in my eyes.... and i have ALL of my phones functions... anyways, to each his own..
Cm7 is og and royalginger is bg meanning baby gangstar

Well custodian uses it and says its way better than Darky's ram tweak. So I'm hoping Custodian chimes in to let us know where to get it. Anyhow, its supposed to tweak our Ram/cpu to somehow make it quicker and more responsive. It does the same thing as Darky's ram booster tweak does, just better tweaks, I'm assuming.

What ROM/Kernel combo are you using?
Any clue if this will work with SRF 1.1.0?
Wow this thing really worked..... Im running srf 1.1.1 w/ genocide kernel 1.1 oc 1.4ghz..... gonna run some benchmarks.... be back in an edit soon....
Edit: nothing secial in benchmarks but you can deffinatly tell its working with how smooth everything is.... and the ram is at about 178mb use in the stock task manager

I realize that we have no source for the kernel on EE03, but does anyone have an idea if it contains support for init.d? Out of curiosity.
I was curious about this RAM tweak. Thanks Custodian for posting the link. EDIT..ok, I decided to go for it and this seems to really make a difference! I am running Urban Fury with Genocide 1.1, 1400/200. It made everything super smooth and things seem to open faster...just like advertised. When I get back to my PC, you have a thanks coming Custodian.

This works with every rom. it is an android hack, not a rom specific one, but rather one that is tied to android itself.

RAM Optimization script

Now that I have found is I can't live without it. This script eliminates bootlags and boosts performance system wide. It is totally safe. I am using it on my HTC Thunderbolt, MyTouch 4G, and my Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Interesting. I'll give this a go
just flashed on my tbolt, booting up now. i forgot i installed live logcat boot animation and it scared the crap out of me
phone just booted WOW not bad, props to the dev that made this, there was noticeably less lag booting and unlocking the first time, and it seems much smoother. will report back if theres problems
Don't know of it's just in my head but it does feel "faster" and I'm on cyanogen mod...

Same here... If anything it's a little slower.
Running Synergy, and the latest nightlys have been pretty darn fast right out of the box.
I don't think the flashable version works at all, the script never actually shown up in the int.d folder, I had to do it the manual way.

Does this function kind of on the same premise as the autokiller memory app in the market? I have used that from time to time especially on the Sense ROMs.

Maybe I am wrong here... But doesn't the name of the script need to start with a number for it to be used. Init.d needs it priorities???
So in other words... Remove the "S" from the name?

Need a new rom to use!!!

Need a rom to use! I've tried trigger and it wasn't as customizable. I'm currently using cyanogen. Way more customizable but is slower.... I want to use a rom that can get atlest a 20000 benchmark. With these I've only gotten about 13000 -15000. I still want a gingerbread look or above.

If your into experimenting Eugene is working on an ICS rom. It is still in Alpha but data works you can make calls receive text. Not recommended for daily use as the camera and GPS don't work as of yet, but if you don't mind being on the bleeding edge its an awesome start.

Thats the same theme I had on MIUI 2 days ago as well, its pretty sweet. I switched over to see what the progress was with the ICS rom but that theme and MIUI is very nice as well
I used to be a big benchmark dude, however ive found overclocking cant make up for bloat. Streamline, day to day use ill take snappy over speed, check cpu spy usage, you rarely use 1200 or 1300. the vibrant cpu is just working with what you loaded.
Right now I'm currently using this miui,I forget the name. Using a ice cream sandwich theme.clocked at 1.6 gigahertz. Getting a benchmark of 1760-20000

+1 Once I found out that you can cheat Quadrant benchmarks about a year ago, I never took much stock in them and have not posted any scores bc I agree with Tibbs, functionality and snappiness are where the payday is at. Anyone can pull a 2500-3000 on Quadrant with a few build.prop and egl edits but if you have constant FC's, then what is the point? I'm using Toxic8 OC'd at 1200 and pull 2100's but I never get FC's and it is a great daily driver.

If you're referring to the stock MySense rom...yes it sucks ass. But Sense in general isn't bad, but highly bloated. I agree with the others on CM7 and Faux's GB rom(Faux's is as close to pure AOSP as you're gonna get), but CM7 is more updated
