I'm really annoyed by the black and white emojis, since I feel its possible to have colored emojis by now! If any news on colored emojis please leave a comment.
PS:If anybody is trying to Unicode the colored emojis try using this site
www .iemoji. com
It's a pretty good site. I don't know exactly how the unicode is done but if anything I do think this site should help out a bit
I think you are talking about the emoticons on the XDA site. If so we already have colored emoticons on XDA. Maybe you need to switch over to the 2013 beta theme for XDA. Go to the bottom of any forum page and it is at the left hand corner. Just click on the drop down box and select the 2013 beta theme.
I'm talking about iPhone emojis. I want them on my phone. Yes I have chompSMS and other stuff for texting wise and I do have the (black and white) emojis on my phone that way I can see it throughout my whole entire system but I want them to be in color

I took a look at the new Android Market and realized that it had a white background instead of a gray one. And thinking about it, I also think that most other applications would look a whole lot better if they had a white background instead of the standard gray one.
Is there any way to change the theme, change the gray background to white?

Haha, could be it. But is there any theme or such which changes the gray to white? And the colour of the text to black?
Yup, go over to the theme forum and you will have plenty of options. But you have to be rooted to apply them otherwise use a home replacement like ahome or dxtop

I took a look in there, but I haven't found any which makes it white yet. All of the themes seem to use the standard gray. Any ideas?
Two options, learn to make your own or ask a theme maker if he could make a white one
Afaik, no one has figured out how to this yet. I've tried quite a bit, and its something many themers and I would like to do. So far, no luck except on Mms.apk.

The new Market I believe has a white background. Expect it soon!
Background colors are chosen by the developer of the particular app.
Hey my fellow nexus owning friends!
I received my nexus today and installed the said sms app, However.... I dont quite understand how to use it properly, Is there themes i can download for it? how do i customize bubbles sizes and download a specific font that i need?
anoher thing is when i get a text it shows a screen with a grass background but when i go into the app with "iphone theme" set it has a horrible colour scheme which i cannot change even though ive set background to black and the bubbles to custom colour it has a horrible bronzy colour?
Anyways, I hope these arent too nooby but this is the only thing bothering me with my nexus, go everything else sorted
- thanks.
If you go into the settings and look for Skin and Application theme those are the main things you can change to make the overall appearence diffrent.
the first screen is the wallpaper i currently have and I would like to make it a little different. I would like the text from the first pic and the background of the second pic (without the letters or the line at the bottom. I need to have the text all on one line and right below the status bar. also, I use launcher pro so i want the text to stay on the main screen and also change it if the comma is not needed or is out of place
I would really appreciate it
Thanks
You can't do this yourself? Basic PS skills!
Anyone helped ya out yet?
Sent from my iPhone with the bigger Gee Bees.
You could download the wallpaper to your phone, select it as a wallpaper in the Gallery app, and crop it as you see fit.
???
Profit.
Maybe these will work for you. One is 12pt font and the other is 10pt.

thats awesome and i really appreciate it. I'll tweak it a little when I get home. I can only see the bottom of the text below the status bar. Or can you tell me how to move the text down a little while keeping the background correct. I was thinking of just adding a little space above the text so when i set it as wallpaper it should line up correctly
nice wallpaper
Too funny...
Bored at work so I moved it down a little. Like that wallpaper...
Perfect
Sent from this thing called a "smartphone"
Much funnier with the comma.
My TF should be in tomorrow and I have been stalking the forums. I like the white Asus home buttons better than the blue. but seems like the rest of the UI still is using the blue (default xoom) look. has anyone converted anything over to white accents? maybe even just the status bar stuff?
thanks for the replys
I've been looking for the same thing, kinda a metro theme. I know there is a winmo7 icon theme but i dont really care for the circle icon. the only thing i saw that came close is the Touchwiz bar, but that isn't done yet.
I want to install a "dark" theme for my S8 Snapdragon that's in the S7 forum. Can I do this on S8 without root (using Package Disabler method)?
If this is possible, will there be any glitches I should be aware of ahead of time? If I can do this, I may never root... well, probably will just to get rid of Samsung-ware.

Use the themes in the theme store under settings. There are dark free ones.

Themes in the "Theme Store" can't change the Messaging app color / text box color, can it? I'm looking for something to give me as much white text on black background as possible in apps / System UI / dialer.
I don't mind paying for a theme in the Theme Store if this can be accomplished.

The "High Contrast Theme" from Samsung has a pure black background with white text in the stock messaging app (for free).

I won't have my S8 until tomorrow - any chance you could point me to screenshots of the Messaging and Settings apps? Or perhaps post them for me if it's not too much trouble
Really appreciate it.

Thanks for that. The white text input box at the bottom is what I was hoping I could make white on black. I've used a few themes around XDA that could do this - like this one I'm currently using on my S6:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/themes/theme-samsung-galaxy-s8-t3582967
I bet there is a user made theme that blacks that out as well but I've only tried a few. I'll let you know if I come across one.
EDIT - Hmm it seems like all of the black themes on the Samsung app have the white text box, maybe they don't allow that to be changed on the stock app?
I have been playing around with Textra for messaging and it allows you to customize the look, see attached image. I think you could make those blue accents black as well.

I like that - I think I'll give that a try.
Yeah there are some elements the Samsung Theme Engine won't allow user created themes to change, at least from my understanding. The High Contrast theme and the use of Textra look like good options until we have root.
Thanks again!
Speaking of themes...Does anyone know if it is possible to get a plain black status bar (not transparent) with white text at the top of the screen all the time (without root)?
