[Q] Could you please make the ITALIAN ROM for IPAQ 614c?

I would be grateful for ROM in Italian Language.
My iPAQ has WM 6.5 21234 Beta 7.01 WWE and it's very fine.
I'd like to know if it's possible to cooking the same in italian language.
I've not experience and any suggestions are welcome.

you will need your langauge OEM folders (from original HP rom) and the language MUI which you may be found in my kitchen thread , combine them to cook the ROM

German ROM Version
Same to me for the German ROM. I have a German 6.0 and 6.1 ROM-file, the MUIs and all the kittchen tools. but need help for the file replacement. Also the Voice Commander has to be replaced by the German one.

you need to replace all mui(0409) folders in SYS with your languages and also replace the wince.nls with yours language specific one. OEM folders you can just use your hp original one

Kitchen enhancement
Wouldn't it be nice to have a kitchen enhancement for language support? So that the kitchen tool will replace all the necessary files? This would be a great enhancement .

the language mui seem to still have problem, you would have to wait for Da_G to fix it up.
Not likely to have a kitchen that replace language automatically lol, and beside usually it is not that hard to replace all 0409 folders anyway

You are right. But... don't forget the fool user . A batch file instead should run without errors and would save us a lot of time and trouble.

It's chinese by default but you can change it in the settings because it's based on stock.

Any other rom like Lewa which involves ui rewriting? Instead of just app or theme changes? That would be a good find.

Yes. Currently found another 1 more which is similar to LeWa ROM ---> iPhone ROM by SGATeam which is based on joyui 's source (iPhone port).

The iPhone styled rom I tried it ain't dat bad but I went back to lewa

Really the Chinese doing an awesome work

Could be me being paranoid but how do we know for sure that there isn't any malicious code in these builds? I tend to be wary of software originating from China.

Under Share options you have some icons, if you click them you get a message that "The application hasn't been installed, unable to share".
I don't have the band (yet), could that be the reason?

Yes, I want to change both things (gender chinese letter and chinese login page) but in working on it.
You can't share using those apps because you have to install them before using them. This is not the reason.
I'm waiting for the Mi Band too

I only can recognise 2 icons: Wechat and Picasa. I don't know the other but maybe chinese social networks
EDIT: I found 2 more apps: Weibo and QQ

New French translation

I've made a new translation for this app in FRENCH (Canada, Belgium, Switzerland and France). All original languages (English, Chinese, Traditional Chinese) were not modified. This apk can be used by anyone, it can adapt itself to your phone settings.
I tried as far as I can to preserve original layout, avoiding translation on 2 lines where it was on 1.
My goal is to add the maximum of translation in this apk to obtain an universal app. Next step : adding the spanish translation in my apk.

Edit: Did you change the language in the login screen? The gender in Mi Band settings?

No I haven't already found who to change this. I'm still looking.
But I've change the lua scripts to add a check for new languages and keep existing languages

I overwrited english files in my Spanish translation to make it easy for me, and fast to release but your method is so much better.

During hours I was searching a way to add a new lua file but why adding a file when you can add your lines in an existing one !!!!

Request : How to translate chinese roms from bbs.gfan into english?

Dear Devs,
Can someone please guide me through how i can deodex and translate the chinese roms from bbs gfan? I tried using softwares like FulmicsDeodexer , ASSAYYED'S kitchen etc to deodex the rom but without luck.
Also, i tried using apktool for decompiling the systemUi.apk and ROM control to translate into english but after recompiling the apk doesnt seem to install.
I would be grateful for your small help and guidance.

Rom control needs to be recompiled with new sign
Can not sign systemUI in oreo. Open both original & modified systemUIs with winrar or 7-zip. Drag & drop res, resources.arsc, class.dex, class2.dex folders from new one to old one
Change csc (omc). Add gapps

I have worked on samsung roms, rebuild chinese roms. Yep, Norma rom. Translate some xml files in res\values. Then recompile it with new sign
As for as systemUI, recompile with old sign then drag & drop as i said above. Hope all works as before :laugh: I stopped working on Norma rom

Can hide it in rom control. Or replace dateview.smali by the international one. Or modify lunars.smali (lunar.smali)
You can find them in systemUI

i want to add language to rom that not support this language
i found an article that says: in system folder of the rom decompile "framework-res.apk" and after that translate some xml files pack it back to zip and flash it the problem is i didn't find the stock rom so i downloaded twrp backup file and extract it to similar format like a rom i do it all. my question is if i will pack it back(after modified) and try to flash it it will work?
