I'm sorry if this is a basic question, but I've been searching the forum for a couple of hours and I just can't seem to figure this out.
The software company I work for had been keeping a MyTouch 3G with Android 2.2 around because it's the minimum spec we target for our Android apps. That phone broke, so we ordered a new one from Amazon to replace it but it was running Android 1.6 when we got it.
Because this is a software testing target, I don't want it to be rooted or running a custom rom or anything like that. I just want it to be updated to the latest stock 2.2 rom from T-Mobile.
I downloaded a few update.zip files from a few different threads on the forum, but I can't figure out how to flash them. When I try to boot into recovery by holding Home and Power, it takes me to a static picture of a warning triangle next to an image of the phone. I can't seem to do anything from here to get to the menu where I can apply the update.zip.
Am I missing a step? Can anyone put me on the right track? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Boot to recovery again by holding Home+Power. When you're at the screen you posted here (picture), stop pushing Home+Power and press them once again.

I have that jump program and feel like getting the GS5. I got this GS4 about 6 or so months ago and if I remember correctly (which I don't) I used odin to root it.. Had it rooted for a couple months then decided to put a rom on which was Wicked 5.0 or something. About 2 months ago I put wicked 9.1 on.
I'm pretty sure I saved a recovery before even putting the first wicked rom on, but WTF is up with the way it saves the files, maybe someone can help with this image, but what is the oldest date of these recoveries ?

If I was to go back to just the stock recovery but still rooted, would a t-mobile rep know this? and if they did would it be a problem?
If I did get back to the stock recovery, could I unroot it? I remember buying a triangle app or something ,that reset the flash counter on this phone? does that ring any bells? lol
Thanks
Look at the system information on/in the phone. What does it say?
You can simply just Odin the NAE .tar if you're going to be bringing it back to Sprint. That'll wipe everything to stock.
DAMN IT!!!!!! Wrong thread! my bad
nvm, i found what i needed, lol
I got an email from my aunt today and both my niece and nephew's Nexus 7 tablets wont boot up anymore. I think they took an update that bricked them both. They are codenamed grouper which I think is this 2012 version right? Anyway, Ill attach a picture of what they look like and maybe it is a common enough issue that the people here on this subforum can help me out on what to do I have used a Nexus before so I know how to do fastboot commands and ADB stuff and can push a ROM and kernel that way, but my aunt tells me that neither device will come up on the PC when plugged in even after downloading the newest drivers. Ill see for myself tomorrow, because I doubt she downloaded fastboot and ADB drivers to try. But figured I would post here about it and hope I can get some answers to start me off on what to do when I pick up the tablets. Both tablets are fully stock so no unlocking or rotting done to them, they were purchased last year.

I got them working. It had some issues because it kept saying invalid argument when I tried to flash stuff, but I eventually got it and now they are working again and both running unlocked with CM11 M9
Hi,
I may not be looking at the right places here. If so, please provide me a link to a resolution to my query.
At any rate, as indicated on the subject, I can't do anything with my tablet.
It's a Nexus 7 (2012/wifi) / rooted / no custom recovery or anything / bootloader unlocked.
I recently flashed/updated to lollipop but found some battery issues. then I decided to downgrade to kitkat but had freezing issues.
when tried re-installing lollipop, it started boot-looping and then i got the following image:

it boots up from the Google logo with the unlocked symbol at the bottom and then shows the animated image above and then shuts down.
It does that everytime i turn it on. can't go into bootloader mode or anything (power+volume up/down does not work)
I hope I made myself clear and it's very much appreciated if anyone could help me.
Thanks
Same problem here, only APX mode available If you press power + volume up .
Try nexus root tool kit. Had a friend's nexus 7, that her grandson locked up. Used the toolkit to do a blind "soft unbrick" to get it back to normal and updated

I have a fresh S7 SM-G930V(Android 6.0.1). Which i logged in via google and it downloaded all my previous apps on my old phone(i assume it automatically does)
I was following https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039.
And now my keyboard is now starting to look weird

I completed all the steps and rooted to the following image "Samsung_G930x_QC_Rooted_BOOT.TAR (any Samsung Galaxy S7) (MD5 hash 948A01ECCF280828DFD13AC366F6FE85)"
and used Odin3_v3.12_PrinceComsy.zip as opposed to the other odin.
Any ideas besides using another keyboard app?
EDIT: Just flashed back to G930VVRU4API3, which i thought was my stock rom but has a purpleish first time start up which i thought should be blueish?
Going to try and re-flash a root after work again.
UPDATE2: I Follow the rooting/xposed steps again and now i got my normal keyboard back. The difference is that the verizon startup is white/red while when i first ever used the phone it was a blueish/purple verizon start up. But i feel that it was definitely 6.0.1 with PI3.
Accessing the phone via cable seems extremely slow but thats for another thread...
I am now rooted with a working keyboard, now time to work on the other issues....
I was trying to root and mod my spare Galaxy S8 and during the process the battery died... now it is stuck on the boot screen. When it turns on it opens to the custom Samsung boot screen and does not change or boot any further. When I reboot it with the button combination it boots into upload mode. From there I must reboot again. I can still get into download mode and into android recovery mode, but have been unsuccessful at and attempts of flashing with Odin, ADB, or from the SD card. I am completely confused. Any advice will help and be greatly appreciated!

Use modded Odin with the latest firmware which is QL1.
Stop trying to root
I having a similar problem, just that it DID finished updating. Now it's stuck at boot screen even after updating it to the last version available (AQL1). I don't know what else to do....
well I gave up and finally went to Best Buy and spoke with a samsung employee.
I was able to get my phone back in 100% working order! He just used his special scan tool and flashed it the very first time. For FREE!!!!!
