Asus Email and Hotmail stopped working - Eee Pad Transformer General

In the last couple of days , my hotmail has stopped working with Asus email. It is fine on my Galaxy s II. It says it cannot connect to the server. Has anyone else been having these problems? Have Microsoft changed something their end?

Have you tried clear its data or cache in settings - Apps ?
Mine still working though..

change "m.hotmail.com" to "debug-m.hotmail.com". it works for me.

Strange, isn't it? I got mine to work by changing m.hotmail.com to bay-hotmail.com (copied from my ICS HTC Desire), but when I suggested this on the Revolver forum, it didn't work for others. I thought I'd mention it here in case it is relevant for somebody. By the way, debug also works for me.

Saved my sanity
Thanks, I thought I was cracking up. I always used the hotmail feed in the main mail app since it is just one place to look. I tried resetting the account etc, all to no avail. I ended up using the Hotmail app from playstore.
I will try both addresses and see what happens.

Had a similar problem on my wife's TF...could not get it to work trying all options...ultimately downloaded tbe MS+Seven Hotmail app. Works good and she now has the same app on her Galaxy Ace phone...Life is back to normal...

Has anyone recently had issues on their transformer with Hotmail again? I had last year and the fix was using "Debug-", but I am now having issues again. I dont seem to see any new threads on this.
Update:
So I changed to a POP3 account instead of the EXCHANGE and it seems to be working. Not sure what is up with that. With POP3 I dont get my folders, so I would like if I can get this resolved.
Cheers
AD

Try IMAP instead of POP if hotmail support it (I don't use it), you should get your "folders" back.

[Q] GMAIL not auto-updating

Hi,
Recently, my GMAIL stopped auto-receiving mail and will not update until I manually sync it.
It was working fine until yesterday evening.
Any idea how to fix this?

Did you change any settings? I know it doesn't sync as fast anymore when one has the "undo" function enabled, found under gmail settings. GL
I was having the same issue and addidng to that was that I was not receiving all the email. It showed that there were new emails but those were not always appering. Fixed it by wiping data with Titanium.

To my knowledge, I didn't change any settings. Looking at the feedback in the market, I noticed that some of the other more recent comments show the same issue.
I think it was Gmail, not your phone. I had the same problem today. Then I got a bunch of emails all at once.
I'm having the same issue today as well. Probably a server issue.
+1 here, very annoying!
looks like this is a google server issue and they are looking into it:

It appears that Google has fixed this as of 6pm eastern

Can you explain the settings you used to get it synced.
Thanks...
Make sure ssl is checked
Domain is \my email address
I am having issues too, it will work for a bit then fail, then start working again. Do we know that this is a known issue for sure?

I was able to login after the firmware update from T-mobile....and so far it looks like its working....time will tell....
I use Touchdown and had email, calendar and contacts within minutes. It also syncs tasks. Try it for free in the market. Much better interface than stock. I've used it on my Epic, X and now MT4G with no problems.
I noticed today that it appears active sync is only not working for me while on wifi. Anyone else noticing this?

Exchange/Activesync Email with Email.apk from CM7

This is for everybody looking to get Exchange/Activesync Email working on the Kindle Fire: I pulled the email.apk from CM7 - installs fine and works without any problems.
BTW - is it just me or does Gmail not automatically sync when the KF is turned on and connects to the wifi?
Email.apk and calendar.apk from CM7 attached.
Huge thanks, I was using Touchdown trial version and was loathe to pay for it. It has a couple of nice features but more misses than hits.
I picked up Enhanced Email so far it functions fine at that point in time I grabbed it for 2.99 so it was the cheapest option to get multiple exchange accounts.

See if sync is turned on under Menu>Account>Menu>Account Settings>[email protected]
Mine was off by default. It now syncs whenever I connect to wi-fi.
Yeah I grabbed Enhanced Email while it was free on the Amazon App Store. It works great. I think its all based on the same open source code (its under an Apache license I think) as the Cyanogen email.apk as well.

I can get my godaddy account to work with this but can't seem to get my Work Exchange account to work, keeps saying "unable to open connection to server". I've tried every network setting i can think of. not sure whats going on. I overwrote the existing "kindle" email app, could that be the issue?

Does this email app support HTML emails (reading or sending)?
I didn't see it, but thought I'd double-check.
Thanks
Works well for me. Thank you! Now I can use this for work.
doesnt work for me because im connecting to a corporate exchange that requires a higher level of security. i did try touchdown, which has a problem with activesync not being recognised - does cm7 support activesync on kindle fire?

this is the cm7 email apk which supports all security.
If this does not work, you exchange server will not work with android period.
(and yes: exchange support in android still sucks!)
The email application works well for my College Exchange email, but the Calendar application has a weird gray bar on top and is very annoying. How do I remove that gray bar. Thanks in advance.

I experienced the same after the upgrade.
anyway, i had to enter my complete email address as username in the "domain\user name" field for it to work. might want to check the "Use secure..." and "Accept all..." depending on your exchange server requirements.
I was in the opposite case, on GB i could not configure my exchange/live.fr email, now on LPY I can easily configure it by adding an Exchange account in Settings>Accounts.

Hi, tried that too before posting. I tried everything from checking everything to unchecking everything and even the complete email username or short without the domain but still cannot make it to work.
@ to the other poster, mine was working without hiccups in GB but now it is not. Don't really know why so I hope some of the experts here can help.
Try touchdown or even better price quality ratio enhanced email

Oddly mine worked for my exchange account, logging in and getting mail seemed to be ok, but all my folders are ... gone. I can only see the default folders, but nothing on the server beyond "Inbox".
Try to add in pin for your Note before trying to create the account. Btw, I'm having issues too. At first without pin, and couldn't create as it keeps complaining about password and ID or something. After pin was added, now it's showing waiting to sync. This is happening on my HP Touchpad aokp_tenderloin build 37. On my note, I have been using Liquidsmooth V1 and also had problems previously. I downloaded some email apks that were nodded but solved my problem since.. Now I'm trying to do it on my build 37.
Don't jump to conclusion that I am in the wrong thread. Just trying to share information.
Edit:
The email apks I mentioned above also have the same problem. Real strange! :'(

[FIX] Yahoo Mail - Could Not Sign In

Hey all,
I was having issues with my Moto X alerting me that it could not sign in to my Yahoo account. However, when I would go into the app, it would function correctly without me logging back in or taking any action. But, the notifications were annoying as it was happening at least once per day.
Anyway, I played around with the account settings and was able to remedy the issue, or so I believe. The fix is pretty darn easy...
- Go into either the mail app itself or go into system settings, click on the Email account, then account settings
- Click on your email address [email protected] to adjust those preferences
- Scroll all the way down and click on Incoming Settings, under the Server heading it should read: Android.imap.yahoo.com
- Remove the "Android." piece of the phrase, so it should now read: imap.yahoo.com
- Click Done
- Repeat these steps under the Outgoing Settings as well and your issue should be resolved
Let me know if this works for you, or if you continue to have issues, thanks.
Fine, good work's it. I am already done it.. thanks
Unfortunately yahoo has been doing this with android for years and no combination of settings will fix the random sign in errors. It can go weeks or even months between episodes for me.

You are right. It really has nothing to do with settings. It's on Yahoo's end not our phones. I ve been getting that sign in error ever since my 1st android phone (Htc hero) so i am used it by now. It comes and goes away.

Interesting. I have always been able to modify the incoming and outgoing settings to remedy the issue. I will let everyone know if this works long term. Thanks for the info.
I am a few days into this correction and have yet to receive any notice from the phone / Yahoo / mail app that I could not be signed into Yahoo. Not waving the flag yet, but for those of you who were having this issue, it may well be a simple and permanent fix.
Hope it works for you, this error happens randomly and intermittently so I just live with it and have transitioned most things to gmail.

Yeah, multiple days into the experiment now and still working as advertised.
After over a month of use, I can now 100% confirm this fix. I have not had any issues since the day I made the change to the settings. So if anyone is still having this issue, please feel free to use the info provided in the first post.
Glad it worked for you, only temporary fix for me. I broke down and installed the Yahoo mail app again. Its gotten much better and does not destroy the battery any more.
